Dear Watchtower Society: Thankyou !!!!

due to the fine examples that you placed before me in the form of elders, co's and do's such as brother brandoxxxx, brother jesse cxxx, brother kevin pxxx and others i was thoroughly convinced that we had the truth.. this led to a sincere desire to please jehovah and his son, jesus.
i devoured every issue of the watchtower magazine and spent many sleepless nights poring over the myriad of 192 publications and teaching aids that constantly streamed off the presses in brooklyn, new york.

What is your idea of worship?
by journey-on inwhen i was a jw, my idea of worshipping god was to put in at least 10+ hrs.
in fs monthly, attend 5 mtgs per wk, study for those meetings, make back calls (or what is now called rv's), conduct bible studies, have a family study once a week, pioneer when able, go to all the assemblies, etc.
what, if anything, do you consider worship?.

Good question. Honestly, not much. I do treat others as I want to be treated and the planet as a gift to be treasured and respected. I do not judge others. I do not know what I believe as fad as god and the bible anymore.
By the way, I noticed something....

Assembly talks-WHy did they talk so loud at the end!?
by themonster123 inwhenever i would go to conventions, i thought it was weird how at the end of the brothers' talks (especially the older ones like from the governing body or whatever), they would start getting louder and louder and louder.
ie; "in this time of the end, we need to keep on the watch for our adversary satan is roaring about like a lion!!!!

I was 11 or 12 years old and there was this man washing his car in the driveway of his house. I walked up, introduced myself then tried to sell the "Truth" book to him. And he said, "Do you mean to say if I read that book I will gain everlasting life?" I didn't know what to say so, I just gave him the book and said find out for yourself or something like that. I am 47 now but I can remember this event as if it were yesterday. That was the first time I thought how silly the whole idea was. But, I got baptised a year or two later anyway because 1975 was coming fast.

Kind of Neat... for me at least.
by RichieRich inso its no surprise to most of the people here, but i stretch my earlobes.. and i just reached sort of a big milestone, for me i guess.. i made it to an inch.. that's 25 mm, for you crazy not americans stuck on the metric system.. and considering the original hole was exactly 1 mm in diameter, i just think its cool i increased the size by 25 times.. now if only i could stretch my bank account.. .

That is way too cool. How long did it take your buddy to get his ear lobe like that? It looks like it hurts but to each their own, right? I was 45 years old before I got my first tattoo. At least it won't droop as far!

I can't drink booze, I get too wasted.
I mostly drink Michelob Ultra because I learned how to watch my carb intake.
I have lost 40+ lbs over the past year. I now have a 32" waist where it used to be 38" - 40"!

Yes, spring is great here in upstate NY. This week has been very mild, until today. It's snowing right now! Weird, yesterday it was in the mid 60's and today, well, snow. URGH!

After 17 years in a relationship, I found out that my partner was cheating. I did not continue the relationship. Trust is too important and he lost my trust. Now if it were just a one night stand or whatever I might have been able to get over it and move forward but, it was more involved than that and I was told too many lies. I felt stupid and betrayed. So, I had to go. That was 10 years ago and I am still single and a little less gay.
