  Please welcome my wife to the JWD

  this has been an interesting week.

  early in the week my wife started corresponding with one of her old friends.

  he is no longer a witness and while i'm not sure what the catalyst was they started talking about why he left the witnesses.

  A need to break the JWD habit

  i cut back for awhile, then i posted up a storm for a few days.. i tried to go online just to check email, and jwd was calling my name.. i am an addict.

  the bitterness with the borg has died down a little bit, .

  but the desire to comment and read about jw's is strong.. i will break the habit next week.

  Saying 'goodbye' on the phone. US style?

  i can't help but have noticed that the us tv and film industry more than not portray phone conversations finishing without any 'goodbyes'.

  someone will say, for example, 'see you at the mall' then put down the phone.. is this a reflection of the norm in us land or just filming priorities of time and money?.

  I had no idea there were people who felt like me

  i've recently begun challenging my beliefs.

  all my beliefs, including those ingrained in me as one raised "in the truth".. a few years ago i sought therapy for chronic depression and my treatment was remarkably successful.

  as a side effect, things that used to "work" for me no longer fit with the new emotional pathways and strengths i was developing.

  My whole belief structure is falling apart, and strangely I feel fine.

  Then I found this forum and was STUNNED to discover that I'm not alone. I can't believe how many people here feel the same way I do about so many things!

  Wow, welcome to the forum orgull. This forum has helped me re-discover myself and the feeling is awesome. Admittedly, I did not feel fine at first when my belief system crumbled so you're one step ahead already.

  before i quit going to the meetings just before they announced that someone was to be reinstated they would ask that the congregation not clap due to the seriousness of the situation.

  i thought it was so pathetic.

  do they still announce that now when some one is reinstated?.
