  Article in Upcoming watchtower for oompa

  that's right oompa, they heard you at bethel and now they have a 5 page article in the aug 1, 2008 watchtower.

  all about why jehovah should be in the new testament.. a close friend of mine called me from bethel when he got the magazine.. apparently, i made mention of this to him and how it bothered me.. .

  so there you have it oompa, your very own article.. i believe it is entitled "questions from oompa: should the name jehovah be in the new testament?".

  that a surpreme being is gonna help us?.

  on another thread that i started i asked what is wrong with the new age ideas.

  some people seem so afraid of it.. one poster mentioned that new age stuff is incorrect because jesus is for sure gonna come take us away from this world.. now i am opened minded.

  Do you want to know everything?

  humans seem to have a need to make sense of and explain things.

  as such, religions and other unprovable ideas fill a needed gap in the human experience--that of the desire to know why we're here and where we came from.

  but, have you ever stopped and wondered if we are better off knowing everything?

  Cars that run on charcoal?

  hey people, haven't been around for a while but i had a question i wanted to pose.

  does anyone else remember from some really old jw yearbooks -i'm thinking 1920's to 1940's- stories from the australian outback of the full time traveling pioneers using trucks and cars that ran off of charcoal or wood chips?

  i know that the idea of burning the gasses from "destructive distillation" can work, either as a flame or to power an engine.

  Suggestions for JW Girlfriend?

  so i've been seeing this jw girl for a couple weeks now... she kind of contacted me out of the blue (i've known her since i was 4, shes two years older than i) and wanted to hook up for coffee or something.

  i avoided it for about half a month.

  not really avoided it, but was going to have fun with it when it came, because i thought she was just going to try to encourage me to go to meetings and whatnot.. so, first time she calls me up at like 9:30pm on a weeknight to come over to her house... so i ride my bicycle over and go inside and she and her cousin were getting drunk on alcohol and they started getting me to drink.

  Carlos, what "it" says to me is that you have a closed mind and further discussion would be fruitless. If you are the only one that has a grip why would you listen to anyone else?

  The young lady's torment is not lost on me. But, keep it real. These kids have known each other most of their lives. I've met, Mincan, and to suggest his motive is to take advantage of her is erroneous at best. She is lucky to have a freind in Mincan.

  today was garbage pick up day.

  i'm sitting at my desk at 7:15 this morning when the truck pulls up.

  i watch as the guy gets out, flips the lid off the garbage can and lifts it into the hopper, gives it a couple of wacks, then sets it back and puts the lid on.

  Why I will NEVER be an elder again

  so the po confirmed what many on this board already know.

  at latest round of co to elders meeting, the co quoted from the society outline.

  any elder or ms who encourages college for his kids or others or who allows his children to go to college will no longer qualify.. he then asked if i was going to take the cos encouragement and reach out again to be an elder and get my hours on the ministry up.. i replied "i will never be an elder again - i strongly approve of further education and college and have been through college myself.
