r, i think i have the same lawnmower as u. for future reference if u push the primer button like 5 or 6 times it usually starts for me. i understand ur frustration. so many times i planned my day around mowing the lawn but couldn't get it started for the life of me. so irritating.

Even your sisters. Perhaps you could advise them to evaluate each other. It seems that on occasion they are less than the "ideal" witness. I suggest that each one of them consider the other "not spiritual" enough.
I am sure that they will have less friends now because if they ever need help from anyone in the KHall, they will unfortunately show themselves as ones who are not at the ready to "upbuild spiritually," and risk losing them.
Quandry, I agree. I told them, during the interrogation lunch I had to endure in order for them to decide my fate, that there were many times that I could have decided that they were not good association for me but instead I chose to support them as my sibling and not judge them. (Plus the mate swapping stories were really intriguing! :))
Gopher, That's more like it. Not what can u do for me?
CN, I'm sure some of those 5 are wordly so here's how they're making sure u get rid of them...

Remember being afraid of being seen in the wrong place and always being worried because you know Witnesses are the spectacle of the world and God forbid you stumble someone
Sucks that i'm out 5 years now and still worry what t-shirt i put on in the morning depending on who i'm seeing that day. i have an olive t-shirt that says ARMY in black letters across the front and a t-shirt that has a unicorn on it that i can't wear if i'm dropping my daughter off at my jw mom's or my jw mil's. so i figure it's safe to wear it camping last weekend. wouldn't u know i bump into a family of old jw friends wearing my ARMY t-shirt. how stupid is that. could i possibly get over what others think of me?

Did You Like Your Congregation?
by minimus inthe hall i was in the last few years was not a bad place.
most of the people were middle class, some had college educations (like the po and his wife); they generally weren't over critical.
of course there were a few elders and publishers that were pains but for the most part the people in that hall were pretty decent.

i was in 4. 1st - i was young and had lots of friends. but kids were dropping out left and right. and stupid issues.
2nd - almost everyone in the hall was related and it was really annoying. pioneers were mean, a lot of gossipy women. pioneered right out of high school in that cong.
3rd - very cliquish (sp?). u were either cool or u weren't. somehow my husband and i were "cool" so we were in. it was his cong. when he and his best friend (who wasn't cool) pioneered, my husband who petered out after like the first 2 months was always very encouraged and even though he missed his hours by a long shot he still got to go to pioneer school. his friend who worked his arse off and might have been slightly down on his hours one or 2 months was constantly berated. even though i was in the "in crowd" i couldn't stand it and hated to hear the things the "cool" elders would say about the "uncool" people in the cong. i felt so bad for them.
4th - very, very nice cong. nice, down to earth people. sweet. caring. i felt so bad leaving them like i did. one day i was their best friend and the next day i was gone. (by the way, cong. #3 warned me about cong #4 saying that they were all old, boring, uncool...)

i understand and agree with u on all points. both of my fleshly sisters (granted, they are not my children) have stopped associating with me because of the recent info. they've been fed on associating with inactive ones. there was a talk at my sister's hall where they were told to write down their top 5 friends. then they were to see what those friends could do for them spiritually. well my sister said that she just couldn't see how i could fit into her friends' list because i couldn't do anything to upbuild her spiritually. hello, ur my freakin sister and i've been there for u for every little thing u've gone through with backstabbing (witness) friends, a cheating husband, college woes...
and my other sister, where do i start? let's just say i helped her get through her most tenuous time of trying to keep her newborn baby alive when it wouldn't eat, and stayed with her while she was recovering from back surgery, listened and didn't judge her with her stories of mate swapping...
i'm with u on the whole god thing too. all the jw's did was teach me that if there is a god, he doesn't care/and even if he does he's not doing anything about it.
sorry for the rant. i know it doesn't compare to losing children but i feel ya.
