  I experimented with your statement that in science ( from Latin scientia, from scir e‘know’, hence denoting knowldge”) there is no difference between HOW and WHY.

  When my daughter (9 year old) came from the school, I asked her:

  “How did you go to the school?”

  Mummy dropped me in the school as usual on her way to the Hospital (She runs a hospital, and also works there as MD)

  “Why do you go to the school?”

  You must be kidding, Dad.

  “No, I am serious. I just want to know how answer to the question HOW and WHY? And I want to report to one of my friends. Tell me, WHY do you go to school?”

  Because I want to build my character and equip myself for a successful career like my mom” (my wife spends bulk of her earnings on three orphanages run by Catholic nuns and is widely respected by the community). You know my school Principal described my mom as an angel in human form.

  “You don’t want to become like me?”

  Who will waste the best part of life in the sea (I was working in the Merchant Navy)?

  Viviane, You see how people differentiate between HOW and WHY

  Similarly, science may explain HOW life originated?

  But it cannot answer WHY did it appear from non-life only to disappear after evolving into homo sapiens—a wonderful journey started from matter and returns to matter in the end—WHY?

  God is correctly described in Deuteronomy 10:17 as “one who treats none with partiality,” hence the very name you call Him as Hebrew God is not right. God’s signature can be seen in a fruit-bearing tree, which is a symbol of unselfish service to humanity. Imitate tree, this will attract God’s attention, and He will give reward more than you sowed.

  How does God view atheist and devotees?

  1) he views devotees with disgust; because they use god as a means to fulfillment of their materialistic ends, and they constantly pester him with request to violate his own laws (principle of action and consequence).

  hence devotees are materialistic in its true sense.

  they even interpolate things into scriptures to suit their convenienceas confirmed by prophet jeremiah himself (jeremiah 7:22; 8:8).

  Answer to your question could be discerned from the source I mentioned in the OP. I have friends from all three categories, and the first two categories are joyless (means never come in alignment with God).

  But the third category are selfless, they do their service, always happy, reap often more than what they sow--an obvious clue that a loving heavenly Father is backing them for their unselfish service.

  With your getting struck with HOW and WHY, you think you nicely buried the BIG question: WHY did life evolve from non-life, why did it reach up to homo sapiens only to disappear?

  This is a question no one can answer, and no one will ever answer. In fact this is a question that angers all the evolutionists I have come across in my life.
