  Superbowl ... "super"

  this is impressive.

  i've now been watching tv for 1 and a half hours and have yet to see *anything* happen.

  will they play any sport at all or just 'tit about' all evening?

  Hey I am a Pats fan, and I thought it was a great game! It wasn't a nail biter, no, but it was a great game between two very equally talent teams. If you were a real NFL fan and followed the sport through the season, then you would know what the Eagles and Pats are can do. The last few minutes were exciting to me because the Eagles were very capable of coming back and gettting the points they need to tie or even for a win.

  I don't have much use for the stuff that happens before the game starts...the commercials this year weren't so great...Paul was pretty good though. yeah, he is that Wings guy ain't he? heehee

  I don't think if you really are into a sport you will get much out of the games. I like to watch NASCAR races, but some one who isn't into racing would probably think it is pretty boring watching cars go round and round...but once you get to a point where you understand it, it is exciting.

  Now cricket...there is a game I will never get into...eeek...but hey to each its own. I do wish we had some national rugby team here...I don't understand that sport too much either, but it is like watching football players in shorts. That's kind of fun.

  It is nice that New England has finally redeemed itself...It is now time for the Bruins and Celts to pick up the pace and get with the program!!!

  You know, the girls had poor judgement when they delivered the cookies that late at night, but for godsakes, that is just petty to sue them.

  She should have just accepted the apology, and the parents offer to pay the medical bills.

  I hope this doesn't discourage the girls from trying to be nice in the future. Unfortunately, they got a lesson that in this world that good deeds are not always appreciated. That lady should be ashamed of herself.

  Are you still "hurt" from your JW experience?

  i was just wondering if you still feel hurt or some kind of interior pain from your jw days or is it all passed and you have no more feelings towards this organization.... i still feel "hurt" and let down... .

  afterall, they were friends, and now they just don't care anymore.

  I do miss some of my old JW friends dearly, and the closeness I used to share with my mother.

  However, I think there is a point where every ex-JW needs to stop living like an ex-JW. no matter how horrible an experience you have had.

  I know this is much eaiser for some than others. I do have some regrets, all do no matter what religion. But I don't really regret my experience as a witness because I really believed in. I did what I thought was right with the knowledge I thouth was true at the time. It took me a few years after stop going to the meetings to get to the point where I wasn't somewhat bitter. I think when you can reach that point, you can fully start a new full life.

  Sure, I still feel a little pain when I think of friends in the past, but I remember the good times and that brings me some joy.

  I guess it might seem an oxymoron to say I am not living as an ex witness any longer, since I am at this board. This board was key in helping get to this point, and I consider many that I have met through the board my friends. So, this board is part of my new life. Simon created it with so many different sections, that it I feel really comfortable still coming here.It is great because there is a place for everyone at different stages, those that are still in, those that are trying to break free, those that are trying to recover....etc. I don't worry too much about getting d'fd anymore, even though I do have a brother, a sister and mother very active in it. I don't bother to d'A myself because...well, frankly, the WTS doesn't mean anything to me any longer, so why waste my time?

  dubya himself would've been stunned by singer prince's uptight security when he chowed at cuvee, the trendy cafe on la's robertson blvd., where a-list stars like paris hilton,robert de niro, naomi campbell, debra messing, etc.

  they're very anti-second guessing....so, i'm trying to word things in a way that doesn't sound questioning without reason.

  every group needs a place where they can feel somewhat safe online. I like to read some of the posts there, but I wouldn't bother posting anything that is anti-witness or "apostate" in nature. I think it is great these witnesses on are online and posting. If they can ignore the Society's discouragement to stay away from such boards, than maybe at some point these will do some research on their own and find this board or silentlambs, etc.

  I would just leave their board alone.

  Two types of elder?????

  its my experience after actually being an elder for a number of years that there are in fact...two types of elder.. type 1....genuine, actually cares about the people in the congregation and wasn't actually bothered too much if he became an elder or not.. type 2....very legalistic, cares more about organizational laws rather than people and lacks compassion and empathy.

  this type is more of a spiritual policeman.

  he wanted desperately to be an elder and now that he is, he loves the sense of power and prestige.. this has been my experience and if there are more type 2 elders on a body, the results can be disastrous.. what has been your experience???

  The congregation I grew up in was mostly type 1. They were really caring. I think there was at least one or two that did let it go to their head a bit, but most of them were humble.

  Wow THAT IS JUST WRONG!!!

  I am not opposed to prostition being legal per se, but to force someone to take it as a job is wrong. There are too many moral issues; it could destroy her relationship if she has one, beside other aspects of her life.

  Czar, You are suffering from PTPS... or Post Traumatic Patriots Syndrome. Very common up there in Pittsburgh this time of year I hear. Just kidding...sorry die hard Pats fan here...couldn't help myself. You are not going crazy. You have a lot of responsibility, and you are doing what you can to meet it. Hang in there, try to get some sleep...take your vitamins, take care of your health. My husband seemed to go through something very similiar when I was pregnant with our first child together, and he was out of a job. It is a lot of stress, and natural for you to sometimss feel like this. Just remember that you won't always be in this position, and that if you keep plugging away, you will be fine. =)

  I think that if there is a god, that mankind has made him out to be more then he really is, or atleast more than he ever intended to be. God, if you are there, you need to hire better people for your PR department.
