Good luck...speaking of pics...I love your avatar here...it is the best.
Take care.
as i sit here getting sloshed on vodka sours one more time, i just wanted to say i enjoyed my time here on the board the last two weeks.
i won't be able to visit here as much as i'd like, but i'll do my damn best to try.
prior to r and r, i spent about seven months in iraq, and am not sure how much longer i have to go in this tour.
Good luck...speaking of pics...I love your avatar here...it is the best.
Take care.
from quitchyerbichin:.
think a gallon of gas is expensive?
this makes one think, and also puts things in perspective.
my van costs about $78 to fill!!!
I am looking for an old diesel mercedes so I can use waste veggie oil for fuel...nothing beats almost free fuel:
a while back, an aquaintance of mine told me that he liked to visit prostitutes.
although we weren't that close, i'd worked on and off with him over the years.
i knew his wife too and would often see her around town.. he'd told me that when he had something to celebrate, like his birthday or maybe a commercial win, he and a pal of his would do the pubs and clubs first and then go kerb crawling until they found a pair of street girls who would play the swopsy's scene.
I agree with Ohiocowboy...if his wife doesn't mind, than it wouldn't bother me too much.
I don't have a problem with prostitution per se...I think it should be legal. But I do have a problem with people cheating on each other...I don't think it is right.
Regarding what sonnyboy said...that is a good point. I wouldn't be hanging out with the guy if I thought he was on the prowl. May end up getting you in a situation you don't want to be in.
If people want an open marriage and visiting a hooker is part of it...well, good for them. But its not fair to the spouse that got married thinking his/her spouse is going to be faithful too.
If it were me, and this guy was actually cheating on his wife, I personally wouldn't want to be around him anymore than necessary. That's just me...I see it as dishonesty, a major character flaw.
oh my god that was great
Now my husband and I know what to do for Halloween.
What is the point of having kids if you cannot have fun?
i just wondered if anybody here plays halo 2 online?
or any other x-box live games?
My 5 year old LOVES Halo2 online...she hasn't played for a while though. She is a riot with the little headset.
We don't let her go in alone...I will be next to her on the couch (I don't play though) and her uncle is playing in another state, and sometimes her brother or dad is playing.
Regarding World of Warcraft..that is what my husband's life is. I even started a WoW_Widow group at yahoos because of it...and there is another site, GamerWidow.com that covers a lot of different games.
Ahhhh we all need our little outlet to vent hahah.
is there anyone out there who used to attend the kh and now attends a church?
You just need to ease your son away from the KH teachings slowly.
My son was 7 when I left. We didn't go to a different church, but I had been a nazi witness, and then all of a sudden we were not going any longer. I sat him down, and explained to him the best I could that it is important to follow what you believe, and that I had discovered some things that made me realize I didn't agree with the things taught at the KH. That I wanted him to have a life where he could get to know people of all walks of life, and that the KH wouldn't allow him to play with other kids, just because of their religion. Of course, he did have some guilt the first time we celebrated xmas, and some with his bday, but he adjusted pretty well. I think it helps a lot if he has some non witness friends too.
I agree that you should really take things slow if you are uncomfortable going to a new church already. Does your boyfriend really understand how you feel about it? You may need to have a few more discussions and really give him some details about why it is uncomfortable. Also, you need to know if he would still be with you if choose not to attend his church. This is VERY important...you really, REALLY need to find out for sure before you get married.
Good luck, and welcome.!
.
that's not the mental image i have of jesus.
i don't think that jesus pested people, and i don't think he had to be dressed better or differently from those he preached to.. .
I can see a whole new line of clothing for christian schools emerge
The WWJW line
What Would Jesus Wear? A line of polo shirts and khaki pants that even the Christ would find comfortable.
Available now at JCPENNEY...get it JC Penney? teeheehee
i have been reading a lot here and there the past year about humanism, etc...and i am curious who else on this board that have left jwism has gone that route?.
it took me a few years, but this is where i am at now, and i have been looking into local groups in my area (dallas, tx) that meet together.
i will probably be going in september when the next meeting is.
Ahhh cool beans...thanks for replying all.
I don't think I will ever be able to shake the need for a "community". I have accepted it hahah.
Do you ever feel like you want to share your views with others, or just wait until someone asks about what your faith is?
Just curious...I would like to be active in the community at some point...maybe do one of those adopt a road thing, and have a sign up that says This part of the road is adopt by the local humanist group...yadda yadda.
I am sharing what I have learned and read with my youngers sister, and my son, but I haven't really (well except for here of course) felt the urgency to "spread" it.
... but today i went to see deuce bigalow: european gigolo and i have to say it was the most stupid thing i have seen in a very long time.
it was so painfully bad that i actually walked out on it.
it was a never ending series of "penis" jokes and "gay" jokes and other really really stupid gags... like the girl bigalow meets in obsessive compulsive and has 130 stupid things she does.
At least Vin Diesel is pretty to watch.
I didn't mind the first one too much...I saw it on tv though, didn't pay to buy or rent it.
We very rarely will pay the price to see a movie in a theater unless it is one of those epic movies, or something that seeing it on a big screen really enhances it.
Although, exceptions would be Hitchhikers, KungFu Hustle and the new Longest Yard movie. It would have been wrong not to see the first one on opening night, and the other two were "we need to get out of the house without the kids lets go see a movie" situation hahah.
I was shocked they made a second one as well. I thought Rob Schneider was making his living now playing bit parts in Adam Sandler movies.
i'm new and i just stumbled across the "checks" to be dropped into the donation boxes, etc.
has anyone completed any "covert" operations?
how did it go?
Wow I totally missed that posting. Good for Richie...that kid has some nerve!
=)
