Yeah..it definately, in my opinion was hyped up...but, from people's perspective, I guess it was a big deal.
Oh well...carry on..nothing to see here...just a shrubbery....

amazing grace!
how sweet the sound.
that saved a wretch like me!.
The Lord gave me a light once...but it was one of those disposable flashlights that had the battery sealed inside
Lights don't last very long when they are artificial.
Its funny, because I have never felt freer and more hopeful, since I don't have to rely on any artificial lights. Kinda nice...
i hope this is huge.
like massive bethel schism huge.
like families reuniting in a blur of tears and joy, huge.
hmmm...I dunno...I am not holding my breath for too much. And that is no disrespect to Barbara, or anyone else. I just think we may see it as big news, because how the WT has affected our lives. But the ordinary rank and file, the ones that are blinded by their faith? I dunno...and the general public? I don't think a lot of them will care, really.
My biggest hope would be that they would get nailed for molestations like the Catholic Church has been.
Big news is relative to what your situation is.
That is a wonderful picture!
Congrats on your first holiday party Ip_sec!
=)
fudge is one.
have you considered making white chocolate fudge?......or adding creme de cocoa for "white russian" fudge?
or adding amaretto for "cherries in the snow" fudge?
LadyLee...not sure if anyone else mentioned this or not...but you should put some of your stuff on ebay if you have time to make more.
Those outfits are very cute!
My mother in law makes dolls, but she started off her business making clothes for cabbage patch dolls. She doesn't do that any more, but just dolls she has designed and made her self.
Some great ideas here!
i really dont mean that, just wanted to get people to post.
i used to think that but actually i have warmed up to her.
shes a nice women.
Under74 and I disagree at times, but I don't think I have ever seen anything mean directed towards me or anyone else.
Yeah, I prefer the straight shooters, and Under74 has my respect for that.
just before i moved into my little apartment my scooter died.
it was an old scooter and the wires were so brittle that they kept shorting out.
when they tried to put a new motherborad into it the chair fried the new board.
Congrats on your new wheels!
Our two cars have decided to die on us in the last two days...but I am lucky I have my other set of wheels..my bicycle, and when that is too cold, my two legs.
It is too easy to take for granted what we have sometimes, until it isn't there. Thank you for the reminder. I am really happy you got your new wheelchair, and I have a lot of respect for you, because it doesn't seem like you let any thing set you back. I didn't realize you had a wheelchair or needed one. I know I don't read here as much as I used to, but most of the posts I have read from you are never about yourself, but has to do with encouraging others, etc...I had no idea.
Your post is a good reminder to those of us that get easily discouraged when we are having difficulty. At least that is the way I see it. You seem to do what you can to make things work, regardless of your situation. I admire that.
hey there...i never got a chance to study or read about objectivism in college, or read any of ayn rand's books while in high school or college.. i finally started too, and was curious if there are others out there that have?
i joined a study group that meets once or twice a month to go over, basically an overview of the philosophy.
i guess i really have missed bookstudy hahaha.... anyone else?
besides one of the intro to Objectivism books, I just started reading Anthem...
ive had a day off work today and have been reflecting on stuff like never before.. ive had the strong jw belief system from pretty much the word go.then in 1995 that all started to end with the change in generation.i couldnt believe what i was hearing!at the time i was an ms and reg pioneer and 100% in my beliefs.overtures were made to me about being an elder.. the doubts continued until about 3 years ago,i couldnt stands no more (in best popeye voice)and dropped out the religion with a bang!i had long relinquished the pioneering and the ms.. what came next?well for a year a completely hedonistic existance..boy,did i make up for lost time with the beer and the laydeez.i did it far away tho..still worried about the elders.then i became more blase..what right did those elders have over what i chose to do?
?i celebrated xmas..did birthdays,fell out spectacularly with parents,got a great gf,split up,got back together again..all in all a bit of a busy period!.
but now its hit me.. ive lost an entire belief system, one i adhered too before i saw the light.now im completely nihilistic, nearly 35 (half way thru 3 score years and 10)and am genuinely concerned about what the future holds!.
Just living a good and productive life is a good enough Religion! But try telling the average JW that.
I think that is very important.
I was watching My Big Fat Greek Wedding again the other day, and I notice something that Maria, the mother said to the main character, Tula:
"I gave you life to LIVE." and then something about go live your life, yadda, yadda, yadd...
That, to me is part of my philosophy. We, in my opinion, are here to LIVE life NOW. Not worry about the future..surely not a hedonistic life, but a life that can bring joy to ourselves, without oppressing others.
I think the greatest "sin" is to waste the life that we have now. I believe in life before death.
if you were to come face to face with god tomorrow, what would you ask him/her/it????.
i know its probably been done before, but ive really been thinking about this lately.... i would ask him why he allows so many bad things to happen???
why are there kids starving to death in africa, whilest i can eat and eat and eat till im sick???
HMMM>..if I came face to face with god?
I think I would ask: "You knew I was kidding about that whole agnostic thing, right?"
Personally, I am not too worried about it heehee...but good topic.
