Soooo the next time the ugliest little kid in her class goes up to that teacher and says" do you think I am ugly?" maybe she should say yes.
and add...the truth is you smell too...and you should know this because it is TRUE.
the teacher is in what i consider a NO FLY ZONE for anyone that is not the kids parents or guardians
the news just came on with a "special report" and my husband looked at me and said, "uh oh what now??

bottom line... the president flew into iraq to spend thanksgiving with the troops.
I am not a Bush fan, but I really do admire that he took that trip. That did take a lot of balls; I think it will help his popularity...until after New Year's day when people are over the holidays and start looking for flaws again.

growing up i was discriminated for being german and italian not only that my ears grew before i did and was also called dumbo.
so combine that with square head, nazi and wop and being made fun of for being a jw getting in fights as a kid was very frequent.. so now you can pretty much call me anything you want and i really just don't care, got used to it and it just rolls off me.
so last week i am at a small birthday party and this guy was making some coments about germans and calling his boss "a crusty old kraut" among other things.
If it did not offend you why bother?
I dont think kraut has the same nasty mean it used to...I love sour kraut yummmmmm!

from the number of posts and the times people complain on here, it looks that many of you don't.
I have my own business...just went out on my own after working "FOR THE MAN" for about 3 years in the recruiting industry. (okay...sorry..haha, I have always to say I was working for the man...I dunno why...too many bad movies from the 70s I saw maybe).
I have 4 to 5 children, and work out of my house...I just started on my own so things are a bit slow..but I rarely post when I am working, because I would get too distracted...I like to read more than post. My husband works at home most of the time too now, so I we both get an extra 10 hours a week that we lost just commuting to our old jobs.
I used to post a lot more a few years ago under my first name Eyebrow....I think I had more posts then then I have had in the last two years hahah...but I was very pregnant and so fat I could barely move out of the chair and do anything else.

JWs are good targets for these multilevel thingeys because so many of them sincerely want to work for themselves so they can control their secular lives to spend more time with their familes and in field service. That is the same reason so many go into business for themselves as window cleaners, office cleaners, and window and vynyl repair people. (I know people who are or were in everyone of those businesses).
My mom has been selling shaklee for over 15 years...but she does not make any money because she sells stuff for cost to other witnesses, and also non witnesses. They do have some good stuff, but my god it is expensive..and I dont believe any company that would not allow its products to get into the hands that really need them, the sick, the poor, but really only multi level marketers are really concerned for health as they claim to be.
Amway IS a religion...I have known very few JWs...including myself, that could stomach it for long...they are a whole cult in of themselves...eeek! but they do have some awesome laundry detergent.
Now, Pampered Chef is a much less evil way to make money. If any of you peeps in the Dallas area have a pampered chef party PLEASE invite me!!! I love their stuff and am an easy mark when at a party hahah.

okay...for some reason, after reading this whole thread, all I can think about is a scene from My Cousin Vinnie.

Don't know why...just popped in my head...sigh....I guess the connection for my warped mind is this: they guy saw right away that there was no way he was right because there was physical proof that grits take a certain time to cook. To me, there is plenty of proof that the god in the bible that was written by MAN shows their god as a very very conditional loving, egomaniacal being. Not really a god of love, but a more like a slave owner......how anyone that actually reads the WHOLE bible can describe the god of that bible as a loving Fatherly figure is beyond me. Any good father will love his children UNCONDITIONALLY.

I think any JW that is mature would look you straight in the eye and tell you that it does not matter....that they are serving Jehovah becuase it is the right thing to do and not because they think the end is next week...and that if they knew the date, then a lot of phonies would all of a sudden try to latch on.

Meaning no disrespect to any educators on reading this...but I feel that teachers have no right to tell a kid who believes in santa that he does not exist.
Teachers have a tough job, I understand that, but sometimes in an effort to reach out to kids, I think some teachers cross lines where they should not. Sure, this is not that major of a thing...but it just really bothers me that the teacher had no respect for the culture of the students' families in this case...or a lack of maturity.
I had an elementary teacher that really forced her opinions on the class. She would say..it does not matter what religion you belong too...no matter what your parents say. It was a threatening way in which she said it, and if she found any kids in her class not saying oh you are right she would give them a really mean stare. I got that stare a few times. I knew what she thought she was teaching was tolerance...but really it was the opposite the WAY she did it. And it really pissed off the parents...she also had a tendency to think that if a kid was occaisionally late to class or sick a lot he or she must be in an abusive household. Forget the fact that maybe the parents had a large family and no medical insurance, or if the kid missed the bus they had to walk...or just were having some bad financial times, but were still a loving family. I thought it was great she checked up on kids...but the execution of her plan was horrible.
School is such an important part of a childs life, but sometimes the school acts as if school is more important than the family. For some kids in abusive families that may be necessary, but a lot of parents, including me, get a little irritated when lines are crossed. One of the reasons we chose the area we moved to in Texas is because we did a lot of research on the schools, and found it to be pretty progressive WITHOUT being oppressive. Thank god...
