I they do not assert their copyright or intellectual property rights on their stuff they would be foolish. It doesn't matter if they are a religion or a business.
I do think it is annoying that the are so weary of the public getting it, but of course I am not surprised.
while i was traveling this past month, (25000 miles in five weeks), i flew to las vegas and spent the first week of july there with my favorite, and now only girlfriend.
what a great place!
we stayed at the luxor and hit every casino on the strip, saw shows, toured the hoover dam, rode all the rides, went clubbing every night until at least three am, and slept about ten hours in five days!
Vegas.....ahhhhh...the only place in the world were I can eat and drink non stop (can we say 4 day buzz?) play the slots and STILL lose 2 or 3 lbs because of all the walking.
I have only been once. We stayed in the Flamingo...it was fun...did a lot of walking, slot machine playing, eating, drinking, drinking, eating, went to a NASCAR race...and did I mention driking?
I also had my first Krispy Kreme donut in Vegas. They don't have those in NH....this was a thrill, and the real reason I moved to Texas.
I sooooo am ready to go back...
what i mean is according to the society, there are a number of persons that are "technically" "inactive" yet are viewed as jws still.

Inactive.....had a heart to heart talk with a friend in the parking lot after the Memorial in 1998 and never went back...well, accept to drop my mom off and pick her up at times.
I am just inactive. Have had local brothers in my new home come by, I told them I know where the hall isthank you very much. Mom says I have turned back on god...sigh...but she does not treat me as Dfd or Dad.
Although, if I HAD to be disfellowshipped...not that i want to go through that because of my mom....I think being Dfd for being an apostate is the coolest reason there is.

secondly, yeru, when you were saying that you finally made the change from dial up to cable modem, i posted a reply that when cable internet actually worked it was great.
well that was true, but my cable internet was struck down within minutes of me posting that reply.

this is starting to remind me of my childhood.
of course, the plus side is that i grew out of most of it, but it was hell while it lasted.. jackson (our 8-year-old) had his tonsils and adenoids out the beginning of june, in an effort to help reduce the number of infections and viruses he's been getting.
he's allergic to a lot of stuff, most of which grows in texas (where we live), and we've tried allergy shots on two separate occasions which reacted badly on him.

I am only 32, but I had my first kid at the young age of 19...then had another one when I was finally an adult at the age of 27, then another at 29. I guess I may not be an "older" mom yet. But there is a big difference between being a kid at 19 having a kid, and being an adult. I think I am a smarter mom now, but oh I do miss the days when I had a lot more energy and could run around more.
My mom had her first kid at age 23 and her last at 45. Sometimes it seems to me that always having youngun' around that is yours keeps you young. My dad was even older, I think he was about 58 when the youngest was born. He loved to take her to restuarants so he could tell everyone, No that is not my grandaugther, it is my daughter!
At the same time though, my mom has never really had time for herself..but thats because of all the kids in between the first and the last. She is a bit tired out now, and sometimes the youngest two really wear her out. (they are 21 and 17, but are very immature sometimes.)
am looking forward to being "young" when my kids get married, and but, it is a little scary and fun to think that when my son is old enough to get married and have a kid, ,I could still be young enough to have another one...if I were very drunk and out of my mind of course.

i was talking to my husband about how my mother thought that all but one of her children had turned their backs on god, and how sad it made her.

i have been inactive for the past 5 years or so.
i just could not bring myself to sit through meeting after meeting of the same thing any longer.. however, my wife and children are still regular and as such are preparing to go to the district convention next month.. for the past 4 years i have been able to avoid going to it with commitments to work, etc.
unfortunately this year it is not the case and my wife has made it very clear that she expects me to go with her.. how do i express to her that i don't want to spend 3 days of my life in uncomfortable clothing, sitting in a hot arena, listening to information that makes me want to stab pencils into my ears?
How about this:
Say, fine, I want to do things with my family too. Lets' go do things together that weekend, go visit relatives, go to a park....something together. Tell her that sitting in the same row at the convention is being in the same place at the same time, but it is not DOING anything together.
Make sure you tell her that it has nothing to do with your love for her or the kids. In fact, why don't you tell her that you prefer that she leaves the kids with you so that you can do something TOGETHER with them if she feels so compelled to go to the convention herself. In fact, I think you should really plan something. If you have to take a day off from work (most people do if they are going three days) then you want it to not be wasted. I agree with another poster here that says that if you don't go to meetings why on earth would you go to the conventions?
I don't think you should fake being sick. Do you want your kids to think that is acceptable? If you can be too 'sick' to go to the convention, then they can be to 'sick' to do what they don't want to do. You should definately think about suggesting she keep the kids home. I don't know what your relationship is like with your wife, but I think it would be perfectly acceptable for you to TELL her that you have decided you are going to spend the day with your kids, and hope that she will opt to spend it with them. If you are really worried about upsetting her, you could even compromise. Tell her you will sit through ONE day of the convention, but the other two days you want to spend with kids and her, or at least with the kids.

i knew he'ld been removed after my reinstatement (about 4 years ago) because he had expressed to dubs regret over the handling of my case, how i was treated, etc.
so the big elder (po) who wanted me silenced and set up the whole jc and witnesses, had little elder removed.
please don't wait too long....good for you for calling up the x elder, but if they guy was weak before, what makes you think he is strong enough to do it now, especially if the perv has a brother in the congregation that is an elder?
