i highly doubt that the people walking through walmart with shopping carts full of clothing and electronics would send me one f'ing red cent if i was in need (and i am in need, by the way).. i just can't find it in my heart to care at all.
maybe i'm the only one who thinks like this, but i've been struggling to survive for the past 2 years and no one has ever lifted a finger to help me.
ahhhh how refreshing it is to see that people can take the problems going on in the world and turn it around about themselves...woah is me...blah blah blah

okay....i tried reading the whole thread about not taking christ out of xmas http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/97085/1.ashx, but really, no, that is just too much to read through...and i figured no one would both to see what i had written anyway...so here are a few other reasons for those of you to celebrate on dec 25th if you don't have "christ in your christmas".
i suppose if you don't have christ in your christmas we could call it "christmas lite" or "christ free christmas" "nonchrist latte with half decaf".

I really loved all the feel good commercials they had when I was a kid around xmas time...especially the McDonald ones where people would give out the McD gift certs to the mail man, paperboy etc...lovely little scenes of snowy streets and people shopping.
I actually like going to the mall near xmas time...it is pretty festive. call me crazy..
to all the mommy's out there...did you deliver vaginally or by c-section?.
i was fortunate enough to deliver both my children vaginally although i came close to a c-section with my son.
he was in the posterier position.
first kid: emergency c section..the cord was wrapped around his neck and his heart rate was dropping...this after hours of labor....oh it sucked afterwards
2nd kid: v-bac or vaginal after c section...oh the humanity!!! They wouldn't let me have an epidural...oh the pain...oh the tearing...and oh the lovely post delivery seizure I had while the doctor was trying to stich up my tear...but it was still easier to recover than the csection. I did get some lovely valium to help with the seizure...good stuff...
last kid...another v-bac...was allowed epidural this time....oh my god...I would love to have an epidural today. Good stuff...I recommend ithighly...was a good recovery.
My other two kids...my husband's ex was kind enough to have them for me. Thank god, because one of them was 10lbs
When I left NH, I was told that my hospital would no longer allow vbacs...and in many parts of the country the hospitals won't...it is an insurance thing...stupid, stupid.
Vaginal with epidural...and vodka...best way to go (k, I didn't get the vodka, but would it have killed them??)
Off all the methods of delivery, though...I highly recommend having someone else carrying the kid and giving birth for you. Makes things so much easier.

I remember once, about 10 years ago, when I had a bit of a breakdown. A few of the elders wanted to meet with me...I thought it was some sort of "pastoral counseling" thing.
They talked very kindly with me, etc...and asked me to step out for about 10 minutes, then brought me back in. And then told me they decided not to disfellowship me. I was like WTF???
I had no idea it was a judicial committee..they never said it was. Up until this point I was in totally good standing. The question was that during my breakdown I smoked like 2 cigarettes or something.
Forget the fact I had to go to the hospital for a week.
The saddest part is that many of the elders really do think what they are doing is beneficial conseling, something that can replace what a therapist does.

i heard that in the uk and europe there are more cars that run on diesel.
right now, i think the only new car (not counting trucks, you can usually get a bigger pickup in diesel if you want here) that is usually offered as a diesel is the vw...like the tdi and jetta, here in the us.. the reason i ask, is i am wondering how many of you that have diesel are or would consider using biodiesel, or using waste veggie oil, etc...so that you can cut your fuel expenses?

My father remembers the year 1934 and so do a lot of people--one of the hottest years on record. There were dust storms throughout the midwest for lack of rain, and the whole country suffered from the intense heat. What caused the problem that year? How long have we been keeping records? How do we know that the weather is much different than, say, 1,000 years ago? Even if it is different, how do we know what the cycles of the earth are over thousands of years? So, I think it is important for humans across the planet to use that as an important example. And back to the original question....nooo...I doubt very much Bush will change his opinion. I wish he was going to leave office sooner...sigh. There is at least one LPG in Dallas, but I believe it is for only city owned vehicles.
The electric cars are so expensive. I think they have thier place, but I don't think that until the price goes down, that they will be viable options for most people in the lower and lower middle classes.
I wish there was more information given to the general public as to what options they have in their area. I would never even heard of biodiesel or other biofuels if I didn't happen to read about it on a skoolies group in yahoo...I think this is something they should cover with kids in school more, both in college and high school and elementary so as the next generation starts buying cars, they can make better decisions not just for their wallet but for the enviroment as well.

I hope the ones that lived are prosecuted to the full extent of the law if this story is accurate...which I believe it is. There is no good reason for this kind of behavior.
I have read and heard about a lot of the New Orleans police turning in their badges too, but it seems to be after they have hung in there a long time. I don't think any big city is an easy place to be an officer, under normal circumstances. I know they have not been perfect, but I think the officers and the fire firghters, and emts, and others that hung around and did their jobs in their home towns should get kudos when all is said and done. It would have been very easy for them to hide until the worst of this was over...but they have not.
