damn you sister, you're going to make me cry before i go to work! actually, i was thinking of you when i read the first post. i guess we learned the way of unconditional love together. you always support whatever decisions i make, no matter how stupid they may be sometimes. you give me a shoulder to cry on when i need it, are my date for social events when i need it (LOL), and my anchor to keep me grounded. i honestly don't know what i'd do without you some days. i just love you (and no, i haven't be drinking ).
i'd like to thank jojo with the bonobo too. you've been a wonderful friend, especially as of late considering all my rantings. the problem is my own fault and i know i'm the only one who can make the changes, but thanks for listening anyway. besides, who else would invite me to smack her boy's pant melons? you're like part of our family and i hope you know that.
and if my mom weren't so jealous, i would call my dad today to tell him how much i love him. he's always been the voice of reason in my life and encouraged me when i felt no one else really did. so here's to great dads all around the globe.

well, first of all i never buy *new* cars... so when i say "new - used" i basically mean: sell my current car and buy another used one that is about two years old.
my current car is a 1999 ford contour se v6 with about 106,000 miles on it.
it's got a few minor bumps-and-bruses and a bit of peeling paint due to a bad paint-job, but it does look good when you step back and look at it as a whole.
you have to do what ya think is right for you. fortunately for me, i've got an advantage--my brother's a mechanic and works for a used dealer about an hour from here in my hometown. currently i'm driving a contour too, but it's a 95 (with the V6), manual transmission and about 165,000 miles on it. it runs great, uses/leaks no oil, etc. i was thinking about getting something different last year. at this stage in the game though, i'm probably just better off driving it until it dies. really, i wouldn't get much for it if i sold it outright anyway.
too bad ya don't live up this way..........last week my brother hooked my sister (scootergirl) up with a sweet ride from their dealership. it's great, he checks everything over before it goes on the lot--will replace anything that needs to be fixed/replaced--brakes, tires, suspension, anything.
you should watch or set your tivo to record the venture brothers tonight (a spoof show on the old johnny quest cartoons)...basically, there is a superhero mer-man who is also a jehovah's witness....
joannadandy got me hooked on Aqua Teen Hunger Force. honestly, how could you not love a show with a character named Meatwad???

i'd kidnap my manwhore, fly somewhere warm and scenic (and without a helmet law). rent a bike, maybe two and put on some serious miles. soaking up the sun and enjoying the good company
i was reading the post on "old radio" shows, and it brought to mind the old westerns that flooded the t.v.
stations back in the 50's.. i remember the first day we had a t.v.
installed, my sister and i were outside, and saw the "new" antenna on top of our roof, and ran in to watch the "new" black and white t.v., and enjoyed shows like milton berle, howdy doody, and others my memory forgot.
hey SP, i'm right there with ya. i do remember watching those shows as reruns on saturday afternoons. we had one tv and after we got home from field service, my dad would flip on the tv. all afternoon we watched those old westerns: the rifleman, big valley, bonanza, have gun will travel, gunsmoke, etc. sometimes now when i get homesick and i can find one on cable i'll watch it.
please share your opinions and experiences here, including cost and side effects both good and bad.

i haven't had it done, nor do i think i ever will. the past couple of months, i've thought about it more, but it honestly scares the bejesus outta me. perhaps i've heard too many bad things that have happened (which aren't normal, but being in the field, you hear them).
all i can say is, do your research. research your ophthalmologist, their procedures they provide, pre- and post- op care, their staff, facilities, etc. it's your eyes you're talkin about and you only get one pair--take good care of them!
