WT Society is running scared right now because they know if the courts force them to hand over the child abuse documents or pedophile database- the ballgame may be over. Especially if the federal government gets involved- which it may come to in Supreme Court in time. The more obstinate and arrogant WT leaders continue to be they are digging their own grave for the JW organization. As you state it's one of the reasons they are selling off a lot of property AND doing a financial takeover of all the kingdom halls. B4RIGHT- Ask your mom if it's " Jehovah " guiding the governing body by holy spirit to NOT allow Gerrit Losch to testify in courts about WT child abuse allegations in San Diego ? Ask her if it's " Jehovah's holy spirit " that's guiding the governing body to refuse a court order to release WT documents about 24,000 pedophiles in their organization who are molesting children which the WT Society knows about ? Ask her if it's " Jehovah " who instructs elders to stand in contempt of court by refusing to disclose and share those documents to " Caesars authorities " ? You know - " God's things to God " and " pay back " Caesars things to Caesar " ? Might get her thinking ! XANTHIPPE- I know exactly what you're talking about. I could SO relate to your question, " Do you sometimes look at your siblings still in and wonder if you were adopted " ?
Oh yes indeed that thought has crossed my mind ! My older JW siblings are 67, 65, and 64 years old - ALL 3 of them still fully stuck in the JW mind control and totally unaccepting towards me or most anything going on in my life as I stopped attending 11 years ago at age 44, I'm 55 now. They are stranger than a seven dollar bill believe me.
I'm sorry that your cousin and you are having to deal with these relatives at funerals. I am NOT looking forward to going to my JW mom or dad's funeral when it happens - but by gawd- I won't allow my siblings or anybody else to come up to me to try to " comfort" me with a " pretend " resurrection hope or I'll verbally knock their blocks off. I just have no tolerance for these people not mourning the proper way and making themselves appear almost giddy at JW funerals.
I feel the same way you do- my siblings have shunned me all these years - even WHEN I was in the cult they didn't have much to do with me and after my folks die, THEN they'd show me caring ? It will really have me wondering , " what's the angle or motive " ? And we KNOW the angle- it's to " try and save our souls from destruction and get us back to meetings . " Uh-huh. GARRETT- I totally understand. I had been out of the JW cult since 2003 and when I found out that the WT child abuse problem in 2006 or 2007 was much bigger than I had even known- I was infuriated. I wanted to tell everybody I knew about it- which I did, especially my daughters who were in their early 20's as JW's then. I got similar responses you did. Now I pick and choose who to tell this to- mainly JW's in my area and non-JW's who don't know me.
But it's good that you tried telling her, it helps you to see a little more about how mind controlled she is. Don't apologize for getting angry about it- you have a right to be angry , especially after what you experienced personally. Hang in there guy. We are with you

" The lawsuit also charges that Castellanos sexually abused OTHER minor Jehovah's Witnesses during the same period and that the defendants failed to report him to the police or warn other parents , even after learning of the abuse. " That is probably the most important statement in the entire article. The most incriminating against the WT Society.
And this statement, " Castellanos was disciplined or " disfellowshipped " by the congregation's leaders, but was ALLOWED BACK IN some time later......... " Another important statement indicating WT liability in allowing him BACK in to have once again access to molesting multiple children.
" The religious denomination ( WT Society ) has a " collection of reports on child abusers they DON'T WANT TO TURN OVER. "
And why is that ? Because WT Society feels it will cost them hundreds of millions $$$ in child abuse lawsuits as opposed to paying out 10 million $$$$ here and 13 million there . WT Society knows that turning over that list of JW child molesters WILL cost them their whole ballgame as it may definitely incriminate WT higher ups and top dog WT officials. WT is running scared. They better be, because once this gets to the state courts and even federal courts the media exposure will get even greater than it has already with the PBS Newshour and ABC Nightline WT child abuse reports.
It's a criminal organization hiding pedophiles in a criminal way- and it needs to stop and it's time for the WT Society to pay for it's crimes whether that be prison time for officials or huge monetary penalties. They need to answer for their crimes

YODASTAR- Good points you make. Being raised up in the JW cult from birth I didn't realize how bad the child abuse problem was inside the Jehovah's Witness organization. Not until a few years before I exited the cult did I know how bad it was when a " brother " ran up to the stage as the WT study ended and grabbed the microphone from the WT conductor elder and yelled to the 150 in the audience , " Brother so and so who is sitting over there is a CHILD MOLESTER and he has molested 7 children through many years here ! " As he pointed at this " brother " who was a child molester the elder ( WT Conductor ) grabbed the microphone from this " brother " and stated , " Brothers and sisters we know about this situation and we are handling it. " This happened in 1998.
But this " brother " who pointed out the child molester became my new hero. So after I exited the cult in 2003 and read HOW bad the child abuse problem had become I realized WHY this " brother " felt he needed to grab the microphone and point out the child molester. Because elder bodies DRAG their feet in handling it AND the elders will NEVER inform parents in the congregation who a molester is ! So the " brother " took it upon himself to inform parents. Good for him. Otherwise- how would parents know WHO to protect their children from ?
As you mentioned many elders have been accused AND guilty of child molestation within the JW cult. Many times it gets buried, swept under the carpet and police authorities are not called. It's a secret organization hiding criminal actions. Shout it out loud to everyone you meet.
NAMBO- I'm so sorry your JW niece was raped by her own father. How disgusting. I'm glad it got covered in the media and I'm glad some of that family exited the JW organization after that happened. Need your thoughts... Again
by Garrett in(sorry for any typos, i'm on my ipad) so, remember how in my last post i mentioned that i had told some of my dear friends why i decided to leave?
well, one of those friends was a girl... not just any girl, but rather, a girl that i've loved since the moment i've met her.
she used to say that she considered me her best friend and we were really close she just never really returned my feelings for her due to different circumstances i presume.. but i always felt a connection.. anyways, after telling her that i decided to leave because of multiple reasons but that the tolerance of child sex abuse was the final straw, she responded asking where i got my information and that she wanted to talk about it with me.. this feels like an opportunity for me to tell her about my findings, what do you think?

Garrett - If you love her and she feels the same for you- you should be open to her. I would show her the NEWS you tubes of PBS News Hour and the ABC Nightline you tube as well which both were done in an excellent fashion. No apostate connections- just pure major news agencies presenting facts of WT child abuse that has occurred.
I would avoid saying ANYTHING to indicate you've received this information on any ex-JW website. Of course, that goes without saying. HBO Scientology Documentary
by tresdecu inhas anyone else seen the hbo scientology documentary 'going clear' - wow...cults are just mind-blowing you wonder how people can fall for that garbage, then you (those of us former/fading jws) look in the mirror.. i would love for someone to make a major jw documentary like this.
'going clear' is getting a lot of press.
poor tom cruise...he looks like quite the whack job in it too.

If the WT Society keeps getting coverage in the media about countless child abuse scandals- give it time- I believe ABC or PBS or some other major network WILL go after them. If they've gone after Scientology, Catholics, and Mormons - it's only a matter of time before MANY of WT Society's dark secrets are exposed.
That being said- I'm VERY glad this HBO documentary on Scientology took place. My wife and I are listening to it on you tube right now. Scientology is like Jehovah's Witnesses on steroids. The leaders are dangerous, violent, and many of the tendencies and shunning practices are VERY much like the JW cult. People need to be warned about the danger . Don't worry people- this will happen in an exposed fashion to the WT Society. Karma WILL come and bite them in the ass ; just like Scientology. Spread the word
