i'm going to be honest and from the heart when i say that for 40 years in the jw religion i was very happy in my ignorance!

i loved every minute of it but then i was absent the bad in my religion.

HOLDME-THRILL ME- Welcome to the board indeed ! Nice to have you here. I was born in the JW organization and in it from birth until age 44 over 11 years ago when I left. I too had to face the hard truth of being lied to and acknowledging the arrogance and injustices committed by men leading the WT organization- men I was told I could trust and had my best " interests " at heart and were supposed to offer me life eternal. That too was a lie.

Like yourself I read Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz - but the 3 books that REALLY assisted me in losing the mind control and indoctrination of the Jehovah's Witnesses were Steve Hassan's 3 books on cult mind control : 1 . Combatting Cult Mind Control 2. Releasing the Bonds - Empowering People to Think for Themselves 3. Freedom of Mind - Helping Loved Ones Leave Controlling people, Cults and Beliefs. Steve Hassan's website is : www.freedomofmind.com. How these books helped me was in showing me HOW the WT Society affected me psychologically and emotionally in a negative way. It helped me to see the intrusive, deceptive, manipulating methods that mind control cults like Jehovah's Witnesses, Scientology, and Mormons use in getting the upper hand controlling members lives. I feel it would really benefit you- I highly recommend looking into Hassan's books. It really helped me- especially having been raised a JW from birth as it was all I used to know. opinion filed.. (signed published) the judgment against defendants on the negligence count is affirmed.

the judgment against watchtower on the cause of action for punitive damages is reversed with directions to enter judgment for watchtower on punitive damages.

This was definitely a win for Candace Conti regarding the negligence of the WT Society and THAT is what she was trying to accomplish in the first place. So what if she was awarded only $$$$ 7 million for WT negligence instead of $$$$$$ 21 million for the punitive - WT Society was still found liable and negligent. This case has set a precedent regarding WT Society negligence - and due to the fact WT leaders have NOT really changed their child abuse policies - this will bode well for the other child abuse lawsuits coming down the pike against the WT Society. This was a win-win for Candace , her family, and everybody fighting on her behalf and on behalf of children being protected

FINKELSTEIN- Indeed there is enough corruption within the WT Society to go around the globe- yet alone within the Candace Conti case. The lying within the WT Society is prevalent as you stated and the superficial behavior- especially on the part of appointed elders or other power figures within the WT Society is inexcusable. A big factor within the walls of the WT organization as you stated is about "outward appearance " - so WT leaders don't want any of this information getting out- not only to outsiders, but especially to rank & file members as it would affect a number of JW's into exiting the cult if the whole truth came out. But many JW's are so mind controlled they'll just look at it as " persecution from Satan " and leave it in " Jehovah's " hands as you said.

LIFE IS TOO SHORT- I do realize and know how much you suffered at the hands of elders in regards to you trying to expose child abuse within your former congregation. You are to be commended and held in the highest respect for trying to expose corruption within that congregation. I think the child abuse problem is MUCH bigger, MUCH larger within the Jehovah's Witness organization than ANY of us might ever imagine. Evidence of that is that the WT Society REFUSED to testify or hand over documents to the court in the Lopez child abuse trial in San Diego. I truly believe if they handed over the confidential documents it would be the beginning of the end for the WT organization. There is so much incriminating evidence against higher up WT officials that they'd rather pay out 13 million $$$ here, 15 million $$$$ there - than to risk losing it all if the REAL nature of the total WT child abuse was known. Kind of how I see it. I really appreciate all the hard work you continue to do on behalf of protecting children. Keep up the great work.

HAIRTRIGGER- I agree with you. I think it's important to get this message out to everybody that we can. This WT child abuse situation is bigger than we know. It's a much bigger deal than we can possibly imagine. Thousands of cases- yet as far as lawsuits against the WT Society- only the surface has been scratched. I'm glad that you are informing the person who brought you in and informing others. Thanks for doing that. Let's keep saving the children.

PROBLEM ADDICT 2- It angered me greatly as well, I agree. I mean you bring up a great point. What in the hell was so important to these elders in this " letter of recommendation " about bringing up that Jonathan Kendrick plays the goddamned violin and does woodworking ? I mean don't you think the fact that he "sexually abuses children " should have been disclosed somewhere in this idiotic letter ? BILL- It's good that you are trying to expose the criminality of the WT organization in what you are doing. About " killing off elders who had guilty consciences " - I'm going to assume from your other words by " kill off " you mean to cause them enough stress where they will die of natural causes - correct ? It sounds as if you've been caused enough grief already by the WT organization and it's representatives as to NOT cause yourself more stress by actually physically murdering elders in the JW cult. Just let them die due to their own guilt and stress- right ?

Here's the deal. We are all doing what we can to expose the criminality of the WT Society. You do it your way. I do it my way. Other people here do it their way. Some of it works, some of it doesn't. I appreciate that you think you might have the " keys to the kingdom " with the Leviticus 5 : 1 situation - that's fine- have at it . I wish you the best in exposing the WT Society. Personally I'm an agnostic who doesn't give a flying fu%k about anything the Bible says. I feel I can expose the WT Society by just revealing access to information to the public and ex-JW's and any lurking active JW's by revealing criminal conduct I come across through court documents, news media on the Internet, etc. It sounds like you are basically doing the same thing, just using the Bible to help prove your point. That's cool , whatever works.

I'm sorry for the personal loss that you have suffered at the hands of dishonest elders. I myself have suffered loss as well . Adult JW children who still shun me and JW's who tried to wreck my life. But the best revenge we can get on the WT Society is having a happy life and successful life after exiting the JW cult. And yet- I'm one who agrees that in exposing the criminality of the WT Society we ALL help protect any potential victims of the unethical practices that the WT Society will try to pull over on people. So I wish you the best in your quest for justice. the witnesses are all in a frenzie actually celebrating this in my area.

yet in a few months these same people will shun mother and father's day.

At least my JW siblings are consistent- they shun me their lone non-JW sibling AND don't celebrate Fathers or Mothers day . LOL

ON THE WAY OUT- Exactly, you nailed it. The lax attitude of these elders was to say the very least- astonishing - to the point of totally minimizing ANY wrongs that Kendrick had done in the past and as you stated- like Adam blaming Eve- the elders just put the blame on Kendrick's wife for not being " submissive " enough thus causing Kendrick all his problems. It's amazing how circular reasoning is alive and well in elders communications to other elders within the JW cult ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

STIRRED- I have talked to active JW's at their JW cart while they were " witnessing " - and you are right some of them DO think Candace Conti was doing a " money grab " - even in spite of her testimony that she was doing it to protect other future child abuse victims.

However- Even JW's cannot refute letters written , signed, and dated from elders to other elders supported by the WT Society recommending Jonathan Kendrick as an allegedly , " " fine brother who can offer a positive spirit to any congregation ". And then try to justify why no JW parents were warned but a false and lying recommendation was sent from one elder body to the next. It's unexplainable , it's irresponsible, and quite frankly - criminally negligent as Kendrick DID go on to molest other JW children. JW's can claim anything they want- but the evidence is in writing condemning the elders actions and exposing the criminality of those actions

Lurking JW's NEED to read this information as do any inactive JW's sitting on the fence or any non-JW's who can warn other people about the criminal negligence of the WT Society. BLONDIE- I agree with you. I feel terribly sad for those in the JW organization who have suffered injustices due to the irresponsible WT Society child abuse policies. Like yourself- I left this organization mainly due to the unjust behavior of appointed elders who I realized NEVER had any alleged " holy spirit " that appointed them. It was all about who kissed who's ass that got them appointed. Nothing to do with how good or kind or how just a person was. The whole organization is rotten because it comes down and starts at the TOP of the WT organization and like bad apples the disease just permeates down into elders, into heads of family with the men , and even permeates into women who end up STAYING with child molesters because they've been mind controlled to " respect their head " and never question anything. It's a organizational "mental illness " is what it is.

LABEL LICKER- Exactly. I saw so much dishonesty and the promoting of very sick minded individuals into positions of oversight and responsibility within congregations when I used to attend years ago. And like yourself I just couldn't stomach it anymore so I left due to all the injustices I saw.

STILL TOTALLY ADD- I bet you saw a lot as an elder in the JW organization. Lots of times I saw elders unwilling to stand up for what is right when unjust situations arose in congregations. Very rarely did I see justice prevail. Occasionally you would see an elder body really try to do the right thing. But in my opinion- most elder bodies would follow WT Society recommendations to the T even if it went against their collective conscience because it was a Nazi run organization. If the elders didn't obey " mother " they were no longer used as elders. A criminally complicit organization. Still is today.

VIDIOT- Yes, they are crazy and unfortunately not stupid. Just unethical, criminally insane, and very calculating. WT Society holds leverage on the elders in congregations and they know it. They are fully aware of what they are doing in an unjust way. They just do NOT care.

CRAZYGUY- I believe that you are correct ! WT Society just DOES NOT CARE if a " brother " is a child molester - or not. It's evidenced by the fact as you state that they KNEW your wife's grandfather was a child molester and they were getting ready to appoint him before he died. Unbelievable ! But it shows the lack of caring and irresponsibility of the WT Society leaders. They just do NOT care. They can verbally spout off flowery words that they care- but actions speak louder than words.

AUNT FANCY- Exactly, good points you make. The elders that recommended Kendrick as " fine brother who can offer a positive spirit to any congregation " were DEFINITELY giving him a free license to go seek out other victims for his perverted use in molesting them. Instead of being honest and WARNING the new congregation he was going to - the elders gave him a pat on the back and a glowing endorsement which would deceive and catch any unsuspecting JW parent of minor children unaware of Kendrick's deadly sociopathic and pedophile tendencies. There was no excuse to not warn parents in the congregation he moved to. And as you stated - I can't even begin to wrap my mind around a woman who would stay with a monster human being like that. She's just as messed up as he is. And the ABC Nightline video of how they both acted in their home driveway was pretty clear evidence that both of these people are totally messed up- actually made for each other.

STUCKINARUT 2- I was given access to most ALL of the court documentation in this case and other cases- but I must remain confidential about my sources. In order to accomplish a greater good here. I'm sure that you understand.

OUBLIETTE- Yeah, the letter was part of the Conti discovery process.

FREDDO- Exactly. Why on earth these elders would recommend such a nutcase as Kendrick as exemplary is beyond me. Shows you how messed up and untrustworthy ANY recommendations of WT appointed elders really are. It's a good old boys club and they cover over wrongdoing for each other and for men in general in congregations. It's an archaic , patriarchal viewpoint type of organization based on the Middle East view of women and children. Disgusting .

COFTY- You nailed it. WT Society IS a criminal organization. And I've been using that term for months now when I refer to them in my comments on many different threads. For these elders to do what they did in recommending Kendrick- it was criminally negligent.

STUCKINARUT 2- Indeed these elders WERE both complicit in their criminal irresponsibility. One reason the jury found them AND the WT Society guilty and awarded Candace Conti the victory. And to think WT Society is trying to appeal it ? Ridiculous. What's to appeal. I think the evidence is clear the WT Society is guilty as hell and so are these elders. It's in writing right here for all to see !

TRUTHSEEKERIAM- Good point. Other elders who knew Kendrick's background probably kept their OWN children away from him- but failed to warn rank & file JW parents so they could protect their children as well. Very selfish.

HAIRTRIGGER- The stepdaughter HAD something on Kendrick indeed. AS Lisa Rose states he tampered with the stepdaughters breasts. These child molesters abuse multiple times usually so it's possible he may have abused other young people as well. You may hear the stepdaughters version of the story- but don't count on his wife telling HER side of the story- she supports him. Sick.

SPARROWDOWN- Good point. Makes us wonder how many OTHER WT letters of recommendations are fabrications from elders to new congregations when people move. Pretty scary.

LISAROSE- Thanks for those points about what Kendrick did to his stepdaughter. But as you stated it was pretty much just swept under the rug as Kendrick claimed it was a " mistake " that he touched his stepdaughters breasts. Uh-huh. I bet the mother did restrict Kendrick from being involved in any disciplinary actions towards her daughter at that point as you state. A bunch of cowardly elders for sure.

ESSE QUAM VIDERI- Good points. Not only was Kendrick a sexual pervert but he was a criminal. He should not have been allowed to have such free reign or access to children in ANY congregation he was in. WT Society and elders dropped the ball big time
