  With all the encouragement from the GB this month, I would be surprised if Tony wasn't pioneering in March and April. Or would that be too much to ask?

  It would be interesting to know if he has turned in his field service report for February and March somewhere. It would certainly be odd if he went from GB member to 'irregular' (remember how this organizations loves to classify people) in a just a month. Another four or five months of no field service reports and he gets the 'inactive' badge.

  Even if he is ill as some have speculated, I think you now only need to report a half hour from your deathbed to remain an 'active' publisher.

  Will God Spare China at Armagedon?

  not because they haven't been witnessed to but who is going to manufacture all the stuff for the survivors?

  textiles and clothing, building materials, electrical components, air-conditioner for those living in the tropics and spacer heaters for those living in colder climes.

  not to mention video equipment and computer tablets so that the survivors can watch the gb updates (though may they've gone to heaven but i'm sure there'll be plenty of the 'gb helpers', the next rank down, left).

  The list goes on and surely the survivors won't be doing the same sort of manual labour that China seems to have the limitless capacity for.

  we're you regular at the 3 meetings days watchtower hade?

  i remember our was tuesday, thursdays and saturdays.

  in reality it's crazy they hade so many meetings.

  Yes, I was a regular at all the meetings, from the days when Public Talks were 55 minutes long and the Watchtower often longer.

  The there was the mid-week meeting and weekend field service. We even used to go door to door for an hour prior to the Tuesday Group Study, so-called 'pre-group witnessing'.

  Getting back on subject.

  I am not sure they they would need to remove any of AM3's videos. Presumably, everything was vetted and edited at the time. Even if he has gone bad now, what he did at the time was as a respected GB member. The witnesses don't disregard Solomon even though he went bad in the end.

  Personally, I wouldn't agree with anything he said but at the time it would have been considered divine light.

  it seems the watchtower are ploughing ahead with bigger and better film studios but come on, they really have no idea.. how come all the people in times past look like healthy, middle class americans/ europeans/australians in costume?

  get real.

  even a visit to rural india today would give a hint of how people probably lived back then.

  I guess a more typical representation of witnesses in the West would be a single mom with two kids living in social housing struggling to feed and cloth the kids. For developing countries it would be a family of 6 living in one room with a toilet and bathroom shared by neighbors.

  Shaking hundreds of hands every week: are JWs the only ones?

  we know that with our hands we touch what everybody else does: money, handles, buttons, etc.. we also know for sure, since the xix century, that our hands carry bacteria and germs causing serious illnesses because of that.. despite more than 25,000 jws dying because of the covid, showing they are not immune, they were proudly declaring how good they were in handling this pandemic.. now, jws have started to shake hundreds of hands per week at their meetings, like before, even if covid is not over yet demonstrating hygiene knowledge back to medieval times.. i am wondering: are they the only religion/community/group still doing this or others are doing the same?.

  Confirmation Bias

  i've read a lot of crap in my life (not just wts) and i have finally found the phrase to describe almost every religious wrting i've read.

  "confirmation bias" affects how jws look at historical facts, how dems and repubs look at economic facts, or how all people look at information presented to them.

  i still go to meetings every once in a while to make my wife and my boss feel better about me, but sometimes i can't believe how idiotic some things are.

  Unfortunately, we are all victims to confirmation bias.

  Trump is a good guy who is really misunderstood vs Trump is an evil idiot.

  Vaccines are the devil's spawn vs vaccines are God-given life savers.

  Confirmation bias has always been about but with the internet today it is far too easy to do research that simply confirms your existing bias.

  It would be quite hard in real life to find twelve guys that look so similar and with identical haircuts - lol.

  The WT's depiction of Jesus has always perpetuated the notion that Jesus was some sort of good looking American from centuries back. I suppose their images are better nowadays than when they used showed Jesus as clean-shaven (let's not raise the subject of beards again here!!) but still, nowhere near the reality of what Jesus would have looked like.

  What Percentage of active JW's are on Anti-Depressants?

  i came across an xjw post on redditt from a rn.

  she states that nearly every jw she ever treated was on anti-depressants or anti-psychotic drugs:.

  Of course mental health is big problem in general, but I do agree it does seem to be even more so amongst active witnesses.

  Often the most PIMI go to serve where the need is greater then find themselves in foreign lands struggling with money issue, health issues, visa requirements and the like. No wonder they get stressed.

  Would be interesting to see how they might handle anything to do with Solomon and his many wives (how many extras would that require lol). Typically, girls would be betrothed anywhere between 10 and 12 and married between 14 and 16. By their mid twenties they probably looked like old hags after giving birth to numerous children.

  Life was hard and short back then, getting married at puberty at least ensured the population would survive.
