well yesterday i saw the surgeon, with regards to my left hip and because it is so advanced with osteoarthritis and is crumbling the doctor says my surgical date is march the 3rd.

he said also he may have a cancellation for feburary and i may be able to have that day.

sunday the 17th iwill be meeting him for the fist time.

i would like some feedback as to any questions you all may have(i have a bunch of my own) of which i will post next sunday night.

please keep them as short as possible so i,m not carrying a whole book when i go.

Please convey to him the fact that there are so many like him out here. We may be branded apostates but in reality we are the ones who could no longer live the lie and had to listen to our consciences rather than the hardliners.

personally, i do not like cinema films about the holocaust and, therefore, have never watched things like shindler's list or the pianist.

Good point Brenda. Things like this (and Northern Ireland, India/Pakistan, etc. etc. etc.) make me want to shout grow up! Humankind is so genetically alike, we are true are brothers and sisters; so why all the hatred between people of a slightly different skin colour or a slighlty different religious view?

If The Society REALLY Cared About Preaching The Good News......

they would use their billions$$$$$$$$$$ to make sure thateveryone got the "truth".

This is something that troubled me even when I was in and a true believer.

There are lots of things that they could do to preach the good news if the big A is only months away. They could blitz in India with a leaflet campaign or news paper ads. They could probably get together 100s of ex-pat Chinese people and send them in to China to set up illegal radio stations, etc. Preaching the good news could do with a little more imagination.

The WTB&TS are more concerned about preaching the good news to people in the west who have heard it all a hundred times before.

This thread has become somewhat political; yes politics is the source of the underlying problem.

However, as with all politics, it is the innocents who suffer. My guess would be that very few of the six million Jews slaughtered in the concentration camps had much to do with poltics or big business.

i went to the house of blues in orlando this morning for their "gospel brunch" services.

it was like church, well a southern black church with gospel singing, electric guitar, lots of the holy spirit... we all testified we were a witness to the lord and said many a halelujah!!!.

music, singing, and dancing... all while eating cheese grits, bacon, roast beef, shrimp, and drinking a few mimosas.

At least (this sounds terrible) the Nazi's had a plan.

upside/down - you've hit on part of the point of this programme. The trailers for this series is a series of statements, "I drew the plans", "I dug the foundations", "I drove the train", "I lead the way", I shut the doors", etc.

Its making the point that killing on this scale wasn't an act of momentary madness. The Nazi holocaust was meticulously planned and executed by a large number of seemingly 'normal' people.
