  Why Post on JWD if not from JWism?

  i've noticed lots of people posting here that have never been witnesses.

  since the nature of this forum is mostly about.

  the issues and problems ex-jws face and about keeping an eye on developments within the wt org, why would anybody .

  I understand what you are saying. Most people here have been in the same boat... and so there is a sort of "you've been through it too" ethos.

  hey guys,.

  there are "cliques" that start...folks will kinda line up and the "fests" bring them even closer..... somehow, there are a few on the board that attrack me: ak jeff, jk666, eclispe, "coco," mr and mrs flipper, and several more (i gotto go to work, this is rushed),.

  you guys are valuable.

  What ? I've not noticed any attacking.

  But yes... we are ALL valuable here... who knows if what we utter will push the right buttons for a lurker, or even someone that stumbles here from Google ?

  I am one of those people.

  I had been studying theology for a few years AND accepting all the JW lit (thinking it was Christian)... anyway, I always spoke with the JWs and understood the verses that they quoted.

  I could never understand why they kept knocking - even though I said I was a Christian already.

  Then I got a tract from them, telling me that I was going to die at Armageddon.

  So I decided to delve a little deeper.

  THERE IS A LOT MORE TO IT... but that is all I can say on here for now.

  The bonus is that as I have never been a JW, I can never be called an apostate... I have to settle for "opposer".

  that sept km discouraging doing research except by wt lit.

  is still on my mind.

  most dubs have the cd for research at most and that stops at 1950. i they wanted to study the foundation of jw on something they would be limited to the proclaimers book and that only gives little snippets of the past.

  Yes... it is the Revelation Climax book...

  Some daft names that they give the books...

  Climax Book... "Come" book... (What do they shorten the new one to?)

  That page is peppered with error :

  The whole thing about year zero is also cack if you look back to the old publications - Russell was well aware of it, even to the point where he said "1914 OR 1915" in a Watchtower - he got confused !

  Not to mention that this is the page that says that Russell was the first president (but only in the 1988 version... it has gone from the 2007 edition).

  If you had to carry one page of JW literature with you at all times, it should be this one :)

  ...when in actual fact, all the old literature (the you are not supposed to be able to access easily) says that 1914 would be the END of the time of trouble ?
