  "This Generation" is No Big Deal

  i spoke with an older sister who attended the annual meeting and has connections at bethel.. i asked her about what the "generation" change was and she was almost dismissive about it, as if it.

  barely mattered.

  i asked if there was more ( 1935, 144.000 symbolic) and she replied that , no , she.

  Yep... same experience here with all the JWs that I have shared it with.

  Maybe because it's not official to them yet.

  One comment that I did get when I mentioned that this was a change on the 1995 change was, "I didn't know it had changed anyway".

  Another comment was "I don't understand any of that stuff".

  The thing is that many of them actually believe that they are following Christ and doing the will of God. So they'll lap up anything and adapt to it. One JW even told me that "Apostates care more about the changes than the congregations do"

  Sorry to burst your bubble, but the annual report isn't on the WTLib CD. Check your copy and see.

  It says something like "For fully formatted text see publication".

  Edited: OK, the TOTALS of the report maybe, but that's it.

  Remember "Frosty versus da Dubs" ?

  i think it was last year, though it might have been the year before that, or the year before that.... one of our great crowd had a holiday display in front of their home.

  the display featured a representation of frosty the snowman, a well-known icon of babylonish religion (he was known as zedikiah the snowman back then).

  the display was vandalized by some dubs who lived next door to "casa frosty," and the vandalism was witnessed by neighbors.. at the time there was some discussion about how the incident should be handled.. as i recall, the dubs admitted their wrongdoing to the cops.

  For those who have traveled outside of the US...your favorite destination!

  mine is garmisch germany....spotless and dog friendly, in the heart of the alps, just on the border of austria, driving distance to anywhere in italy....an absolute dream.

  the town is small, (near where sound of music was filmed) beautiful shops including, chocolate, designer fashions, local specialties and the best food you have ever tasted from every part of the world.. it is a professional skier's destination, and at the same time, cows are driven through in the morning and evening with most traffic coming to a halt to allow the same.. driving in form munich, about an hour, you climb mountains and then suddenly come into beautiful fields with the mountains rising above you.

  absolutely breathtaking.

  I've been to Germany, France, Austria, Luxemborg, Italy, Switzerland, and a brief touchdown in Iceland. Of course, I've

  been to Mexico (Cozumel and Mazatlan) like most Americans. But, before I die, my desire is to go to Scotland and Ireland

  and England if I have $$ and time. I used to want to go to Machu Picchu in Peru, but nowadays I worry about travelling outside

  the USA, Canada, or GB.

  Keep your JWD stuff on one, and leave the "guest" account plain.

  That's what I do - I have even managed to get the JW that studies with me flicking through some of the JW stuff on here without raising suspicions

  i spent the weekend visiting some of my jw relatives.

  we were sitting around chatting and eventually got to the "death report" where i am updated about who had died around town since my last visit.

  someone mentioned sister so&so had passed on and i asked how old she was.

  I guess that it is an easier pill to swallow if "Satan's System" attacks them, rather than admitting that senescence has got the better of them.
