days [this was over forty years ago] and it was obvious she was confused ,i started to speak louder.

Co-worker thinks I'm going back.

he says he's a christian but he's one of those that i don't believe really gets it and certainly doesn't act like a christian.
he doesn't think jws are that bad.

People who were never Witnesses or raised in it ESP. (let's just call them "worldly" cuz we all know what that means)....could NEVER understand what it's like to be a Witness and the mind control that follows....They just would never get it. That guy at your work will never get it-don't expect him to. But aren't you glad you have JWD??? I know I am. We got ya girl.

i know that this song is often linked to the sept 11 attacks, but it really is just so hauntingly beautiful.

my field trip to Bethel
by themonster123 ina few years ago, when i was an active witness, i went all the way from california to the east coast for vacation to visit my witness friend.
her family took me to bethel (one of the many things we did)...seriously, what was the big deal i've been hearing about my whole life how ," oh bethel is so great!
" when i finally saw it when i was 18, it was like walking through a building with a bunch of walls with pictures of paradise on the walls and watching random people do printing press stuff.

A few years ago, when i was an active Witness, I went all the way from California to the East Coast for vacation to visit my Witness friend. Her family took me to Bethel (one of the many things we did)...Seriously, WHAT WAS THE BIG DEAL I'VE BEEN HEARING ABOUT MY WHOLE LIFE HOW ," Oh BEthel is so great! You have to see it!" When I finally saw it when I was 18, it was like walking through a building with a bunch of walls with pictures of Paradise on the walls and watching random people do printing press stuff.
IT WAS booooo-ring! It was no spiritual mecca, just a bunch of printing stuff!!! When I got back from my vacation and I woudl tell people about my vacation, My highlight was seeign Conan O'brien live, NOT BEthel, but when I would tell them about BEthel, they would get this warm fuzzy glow like "Oooooo you got to see Bethel?" It's like the same thing as when after a SUnday talk, everyone goes "THat was SUCH a good talk." Welll, poele my whole life have been going "Bethel is SO amazing." Whatever.. I call that all "witnesspeak."

all my life, it seems like i would hear everyone talk about how great bethel is and "you have to visit there-it's amazing", but i visited brooklyn bethel and patterson and walkhill.

NOT Bethel...Seeing Bethel.........WHAT WAS THE BIG DEAL!? You have to stand around and see a bunch of beige walls and people in slacks working the printing presses???!! BIg whoop! I was embarassed to tell everyone that it was not the spiritual mecca I thought it would be.
But everyone would always get this fuzzy glow on their faces like "Oh, you got to see Bethel? How great!" BUt, WHAT was great? Nothing! It was really boring and random. I think it's the same thing as when EVERYONE after a talk goes, "Oh, that was a really great talk"- My whole life, people have been saying "Oh, Bethel is great-you have to see it." I call it Witness Speak...

I saw red

a jw lady from the cong that i da'd from 5 years ago was in there.
normally she doesn't say anything to me, but today she smiles big at me and says in a sing-song voice, "he-ey, the memorial, april 7th!".

JW's and Mormon missionary work -- shocking similarities
by mavie inthe mission is great preparation for marriage, elder ward laughs as he mixes his kool-aid.. that was the most frustrating lesson ive ever been in, elder triplet says afterward.

That's one reason I left actually was cuz of, believe it or not, the Mormons! (I'm an active Mormon now... j/k)... I couldn't get it out of my head how similar they were to the Witnesses, obviously if they'r eboth similar, then BOTH can't be right....WHY are they so similar I started asking myself? Well.....I finally got my answer-cuz they're both high-control organizations that take over people's lives and both think they're the only right one. Both preach. Both have a strong sense of community. Both have a high level of morality they live by. WEEEE!!! I'm not a witness anymore! :) Thank you Mormonism for being just as crazy as the Witnesses...yay.

My brother (who is also an ex-JW) says they aren't . I say they definitely are. He says cuz they don't follow any one specific man's teachings they aren't. I'm like, "Hellllloooo?? What about doing everything the guys at Bethel tell us to do?" We follow the GUYS' AT BETHEL'S TEACHINGS.....Just cuz we don't know them by name doesn't mean we arent' doing every single thing they do!!!
I remember once an elder tried to convince me we weren't a cult-cuz he used this line of reasoning...
"Well, can you name even one of the members of the GB?"
ME" "No."
HIM: "Right-I bet you no one in this congregation could. You see, we don't worship men. We worship Jehovah."
Whatever! Just because they dont' show their FACES readily doesn' tmean we aren't following them to a T....
