I don't have anything to say on this subject, but I just wanted to say I thought it was pretty funny that if you look down on the ads on the bottom of this page, it says stuff like, "Fencing.com-for all your fencing needs!" or whatever it says.... lol.

Fencing Borders - Anyone Else Think This Is A Stupid Idea??
by Seeker4 ini've been listening to this from the congress for some time now, and it's back in the news today.
the idea is to build a literal fence along the us border, hundreds of miles long and costing millions of dollars, in order to keep out illegal aliens.. damn you canadian outlaws!

True or False: Watchtower Male Stereotype
by YoursChelbie ini always used to cringe when the watchtower "family" and "youth" books would stereotype men and women into two mutually exclusive categories: "men think while women feel.
"one trait is not better than the other they are just different...," i recall the books went on to say in so many words.
i'm well aware both men and women have excelled in science, etc.

I actually agree w/ what you call "stereotypes." From what I've seen in my LIfe, the various people I've worked with, gone to school with, and different men and women I've me, I generally agree with this conclusion that men are more logical, women more emotional. But of course, there's a whole range of people, which is what you seem to be getting at.
I've always thought, though, in regards to gay or lesbian people-how hard it must be growing up as a Witness with these "roles" they're supposed to live up to. Gay men are more feminine and lesbian women are more masculine- and it must be hard growing up and "finding yourself" as a Witness-esp. around 12-16 years old if you are that way b/c to constantly be reading in the literature about how your gender is supposed to be, it must be hard..... (if you were that way AND thought it was the Truth. If you didnt' think it was the Truth, you could just leave and have that be that).

What was the deal w. the 144,000? What feeling is it that they had?? I mean, seriously-it baffles me. Because they obviously believed they were the chosen ones for Heaven. How do you think they arrived at this conclusion? I know they that genuinely must have felt something, but I don't know what that something was or is.

Top 10 things cultish to outsiders, but normal to Witnesses!!
by themonster123 in1. whenever we did the kingdom hall cleaning and would wear casual clothes, we weren't allowed to wear any shirt/sweatshirt/top w/ a logo on it!!!
(and not obvious stuff like "camel cigs" or "budweiser"), but stuff like "reebok" "quiksilver" etc etc etc.
(omg) (hey, on the way out, you reminded me of this in another post!!).

I hated going out in service not so long ago....The whole idea of it never made sense-bothering a bunch of people isn't going to make them change their mind. I remember one morning before I had to go out in service lying in bed and I was just lying there waiting for my alarm to go off at about 8:17 a.m. when that THOUGHT struck me like a bolt of lightning- The idea of service doesn't make sense to me!! When I thought about the faces of everyone I would meet at the door (the apathy, the "....and who are you?"), I started to lose faith in what I was doing. TO a Witness, the householder's (and manager in your case) means that they're RIGHT b/c that's Satan's influence on them, but when I started to think about it clearly, these householders I had to preach to were just....people, regular people. I Was the one who was a part of this crazy religion. The seed had been planted, (my own seed)
