I agree with you Min, it is crazy, and never do it myself
Then again, I'm hardly a younger driver

Stupid and foolish. But nothing like the person I saw text messaging while riding his motorcycle!

Stupid and irresponsible.
But so is talking on the cell phone while driving and I bet a lot of people who would say that text messaging while driving is dangerous talk on the cell phone while driving.
Driving a vehicle should take 100% of your attention. Not 90%, not 80% but 100%...period. It's bad enough to change CDs while driving or drinking a cup of coffee or even reading directions, but talking on the phone and playing with a pager is just plain dumb and ignorant.
Do I talk on the cellphone while driving? I won't say "no, never". I will answer it on rare occasions but I keep the conversation at a minimum and hang up as soon as possible. I never make calls while driving. I'll pull over and make calls. I've even pulled over after receiving calls and the person on the other end wanted more than a minute of my time. So, yes, I'm guilty too...but too many people think that multi-tasking while driving is an okay thing and it's not.

Talking on the cell can be distracting to drivers. But I think playing a radio, CD, having a conversation, having kids in the car, a dog, even another person in the vehicle-----all of these things can be distracting. I have no issue speaking on a cell while driving but texting requires more distraction......

i do it all the time. I text more than i talk so i know where most of the letters are from memory so i can look at the road sometime while texting. lol

But can you read the messages without taking your eyes of the road?
