Or someone says "bless you" when you sneeze and you don't know if it's a sin to say "Thank you!"

No I don't agree with that. What is the solidarity of marriage then? Marriage is becoming more and more just like "Dating-Level 2."

Honestly, it's so embarassing that Witnesses don't celebrate Mother's and Father's day. I mean, Christmas and all the other big holidays, I think you can pretty much legitimately defend w/ a solid reason why we as a religion don't celebrate those, but MOthers Day!?
Seriously, if someone this weekend asks me "hey whatcha doin for mother's day?" I am SO gonna lie and just be like, "Oh we're taking her out for breakfast" and leave it at that. I ain't a WItness no mo, but my Mama is... SEriously how can you defend not celebrating MOthers day!? Madness...
There's so much to this religion that is just plain embarassing.

Aren't You Glad You're Out of the Organization??? Do You Now Have A Life?
by minimus infunny though, the only time i really think about the good old days is when i come here.
when i meet other exjws, quite often they seem consumed by their present situation.
sometimes i like to go out, have a couple of drinks and enjoy the food.

and i come here to get my fill of talking about witness stuff- out there, I never talk about it-it's not relevant and no one cares, so this is the only place i talk about witness stuff, it's not like I talk about it outside of this forum....EVER. And the reason I like to talk about it a lot is b/c it's a huge part of who I am-it defined 98% of my LIfe- and now...this is like recovery and therapy for me to talk about this random religion so few truly understand. To talk about it is to understand my history, and, thus my present and future.

I have no Life and I wish I was back in that cult...LOL, nah but seriously.... I sit and think about how 6 million + people are praying to...Nothing....I think about how my Mom goes to Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday meeting for....no God and no Jehovah and Jesus and angels (I don't believe in them anyway)...I think about ALL those wasted lives...Like I saw a CD in my Mom's car labeled "In the time of the end" and it was a "really good talk" from some convention- well, she's sitting in her car listening to words she believes to be true and it scares me!!! Because her WHOLe life was dedicated to this religion. I'm just glad I realized it was a farce here at 21 years old...
Sometimes I can't believe all those JWs who are dedicating their LIVES to..... N-O-T-H-I-N-G...esp. the ones like the Mom who has 3 kids and has to sneak to the meeting after working all day and tell her husband she went to the grocery store or whatever.
WHen all these people could be doing really cool things, like traveling, doing fulfilling satisfying things and not driving their Camrys and Corollas around white-picketed fenced neighbourhoods wearing uncomfortable clothing every Saturday morning, like freaks distributing magazines w/ crazy covers on them...I sigh. And...the PIONEERS-you know how MUCH they do??!! EVERY SINGLE morning at 9 am at the hall doing the damn thing-
It's all too much to think of these people literally WASTING their lives-there is NO paradise, there is NO armageddon-it's all nothingness. THey should be enjoying their short stay here on Earth. There is no Hope, only the here and now. I hope my Mom, friends, and brother realize that soon...

Can one man be an Island? Bumping into old workmates - awkward
by needproof ini like to consider myself a bit of an island.
some might call what i do anti-social.
as an island, i have to face inescapable facts - those being that sometimes, i must travel to the mainland.

I don't think anyone enjoys seeing some random person who you have a very obligated connection with (ie; some guy from your old work). It sounds like you're describing that Elevator Awkwardness-where you're standing in the elevator in silence w/ a stranger and you're both looking at the ceiling! he he.... It's just kind of part of Life, I guess. You sound like you just want meaningful relationships and conversations (like everyone). I guess you kind of have to navigate through the superficial of everyday to get to the good stuff (meaningful conversations and such).

I have. I'm 21 now, but when I was 17, I got in a bad car accident. It was a terribly bright sunny WInter morning (somehow, the Winter sun is brighter than the SUmmer sun in the morning)-it was around 6 in the morning. And I had a really foggy windshield, too. So I didn't see the car pulling out in front of me when I was going 65 miles an hour!! I hit them, and broke my leg, totaled my car-they were okay (it was like a hay truck, so I hit the back of his big truck thing).
anyway, the weird part was w hen I hit him. I didn't know i had got in an accident cuz like I said my window was fogged up before this happened and with the bright sun, I could barely see out of my window when I was driving to begin with (I was watiting for the defrost to work, btu you know how sometimes it takes a while for it to clear your window). So in between realizing I was in an accident, I just remember seeing white and fog and sun and ....I seriously thought I was either dead or in Heaven!! I know at the time I was a Witness and blah blah blah we don't "believe" in that stuff, but I thought maybe I was dead and this was the afterlife.
And then I came to, realized I was alive, and got out of my car. but yeah, it was scary. I've always wondered if anyone has truly TRULY "Seen their life flash before their eyes" like at gunpoint or something. Anyone? Anyone?
