  Have you ever faked a service report?

  it's only my third day here so, go easy on me.

  lol.. seriously, my new doubts have made it harder and harder to go in service.

  a few months ago, when a new month rolled around, i realized that i hadn't actually gone in service at all the previous month.

  I've been putting down one hour for over two years now whether I went out or not, have never been questioned about it. Mostly I don't go out. The whole idea of posting time is stupid. Many years ago they actually had a large board on an easel with everybodys time , literature, etc. posted on it. It was meant to embarass everyone to do more. Some of the older persons here may remember that. They finally quit that because obviously it was stupid.

  A time for war at the family reunion-this apostate don't take crap!

  i just finished another of my famous letters i send to many of my family members... i've been told that i shouldn't come to the family reunion becasue i'm an apostate.

  in my letter i stated that i in fact am going to be there stupid watchtower quotes in hand.

  the first family member that shuns me will hear me read off every stupid statement that they've ever made... i said that i'm also bringing my bible and that i want someone in the family to show me in it where it states that i don't have the right to question the dictates of men and by my so doing i should be shunned!.

  Some will tell you this is not a good way, but it seems to be the only way I ever could get anybodys attention. Believe me after this they will talk about it (gossip) . It is better they do this than stay in their hypnotic state. The more they all talk about it , good or bad, the better. Someday maybe one or more of them will ask themselves if maybe you are right.

  I recomend that anyone at that book study finish some of the quotations. You will get very interesting looks. Or give some additional WTS info on the subject being discussed. I have done it several times. What are they going to do, it is their own info. I did it in the beginning of book on the Alpha and Omega where it says it Jehovah. I gave the comment that in the back of this book pgs 316 and 319 it indicates that both Jehovah and Jesus were the Alpha and Omega, using the same scripture Rev 22:12. and that several magazines Awake and Watchtower ( fairly recent ) have said the same, one time Jehovah and next time Jesus. I said evidently it can be both. It got real quite.

  My wife told me years ago that I would get more out the study if I took more interest in it and did research so I could comment, and would enjoy it more. Maybe she was right.

  does anyone here know when the wts first declared itself the faithfull and discreet slave?

  i know that they have said for sometime now they became such in 1919, but i need to know when they came to the 'realization' or hallucination that they were.

  would greatly appreciate a watchtower article, etc.

  Did anyone here ever really like field service?

  as i have stated in previous posts, i absolutely hated field service.

  hated it.

  i dreaded it with a passion and couldn't wait to be done.

  The WTS knows going in field service is a miserable, torturous, unnatural thing to do, that is why they call it a sacrafice. I have always hated going out in field service. I found that if you are out with brothers only, and mention that you don't like field service , that you will get the same reaction from them. The only way you can enjoy it is if you like to tick people off. I did know some people who were like that. They liked making other people miserable in general, sort of a sadistic attitude.

  In my younger days there was a young sister that would never park her car in the shade in the summer when she made her calls, so we sat there in the sun, cooking. She was that way about everything especially the brothers. She would never give the magazines away, had to get the money. She made going in field service that much more crappy.

  In general, when witnesses say they had a good day, it means they found no one home, or spent most of their time on a coffee break, or went with thier little group of favorite friends.

  some bible passages i can vaguely remember reading as child without the borg blinders on.

  this would usually happen after a speaker introduced a single "proof text" verse in a talk and then i'd keep on reading in the bible instead of staying in sync with the borg software download.

  Try using this scripture on any JW and see how far you get. I have used it several times when discussing 'field service' . JWS will clam up and try to get away from the subject as fast as they can. God forbid that you might actually help someone in need. It is a case of using only the scriptures that please you. They know that their pitifull amount of time in 'field service' is nothing compared to helping their fellow man. There is another scripture telling the disciples to sell their belongings and give to those in need before they left to go spread the good news. I personally have never seen any JW do that either. They claim they follow the Christ, yeah right. As long as I was in the 'truth' I never understood that, I always helped who ever I darned well felt like helping.

  the big one for me was demons.

  so many people i know had experiences with them.

  Do JWs actually believe the things they're taught?

  the governing body has much control over the lives, thoughts, actions, etc..of many.

  i was thinking of the "new light" policy and this gives the gb virtually unlimited power to do what they want.. take this for instance: we know how doctrines such as no trinity, no hellfire, and no immortal soul, are all considered the core beliefs that will never change.

  lets just that today the gb just happens to reverse them all...what would happen?

  My wife is the perfect example of a typical JW. We got into another 'discussion' today. You think that I would learn to just forget using any kind of logic with her. I brought up a study artical in one of the recent watchtowers. In the first 2 paragraphs it said we should follow Jesus over anyone, that Jesus is our leader , etc, etc. basically corret information, sounded good. Then it goes on the rest of lesson on how we should follow the organization. I was trying to explain that you cant have it both ways, that it did not make any sense that you should not follow any man but at the same time you follow the org. After a while of this conversation she tells me she doesn't want to discuss it anymore, that she knows she has the truth. So being the dummy that I am, I said, 'at what time in the history of the org. do you pick for the start of the truth. That is far as I got. I went outside and talked to my dog, she is a better listener, and I did just as much good.

  The point is, her mind is just blocked and short of the org. completely dispearing, I am never going to get through to her, so to keep peace, I give up.
