I think it's great. When I read posts on here I have to use a dictionary because of the high level of intellectual words yet, when I read a WTBTS publication, I have to ignore all the bad grammar and punctuation!

Conversation with JW mom on this years memorial date and Nissan 14 discrepancy.
by Question_Mans_interpretation ini'm having an ongoing texting conversation with my mom right now on the march 23rd memorial date.
she completely goes into cult mode.. me: why is the memorial on march 23rd this year and not april 22nd/23rd when the corresponding nissan 14 commences?
since when did the organization stop following the jewish calendar for passover?.

t should be pointed out that the Jewish calendar leap year designations are NOT Biblical.
Let's add a little more detail: The spring equinox occurs on March 20th at 4:40 PM, Jerusalem time. The Jewish calendar calculates the new moon of Adar II (the 13th month of the previous religious calendar year) to be at 9:31 PM on March 8th and, due to the postponements of the previous Tishri 1, March 11th as the first day of the month. Either day will place the 14th day of Adar II on or after the spring equinox and thus the month should be Nisan (Abib), not Adar II. The result of this error is that the Jewish calendar is ONE MONTH LATE from March 2016 through March 2017! By making 5776 a leap year, they ignore the fact that, by their own interpretation of the Torah, Passover must be observed at the first opportunity on or after the spring equinox. This is the way the lunar calendar is kept synchronized with the solar calendar, and is an essential part in keeping the Passover (and every other Holy Day) in its season

What are the biggest holes in the ransom sacrifice?
by Half banana inhow honest are the proponents of jesus as the ransom sacrifice?.
curious to see what type of response there is on a topic like this or does their study only seek to confirm their preconceptions and ignore uncomfortable facts?.

The teaching of the ransom used to really touch my heart. The whole God loved the world so much thing.... But then I realised how the Bible condems human sacrifices to upease the Gods of Baal and Yahweh wanted exactly that. A human sacrifice to upease his desire for vengeance. Strange that I thought this was a wonderful loving idea?! -

Tired of the truth... Tired of doubting
by Deltawave ini'm reaching out here, i've known ttatt for about 3-4 years now.
sadly when i first grasped it i had a total mental breakdown as i was a hard core firm to the core pioneer and 110% believer of my faith.!
now nearly 2years on after my breakdown i still have to attend to please my jw wife.

Thank you so much for all you really kind comments. I have mentioned a few of my doubts to my wife so she kind of knows some of my reasons.
I am starting to fade but very slowly and subtly. I have also started doing proper charity work that actually helps people.
I have been having professional help as I ended up in a statewhere I had no choice but to get it.
I can't shake my doubts as I know TTATT but still kinda hope deep down inside that it isn't true and the troof is right.
don't hold any privileges anymore as I have turned them all down.... So see what the future holds.
Thank you so much for your support.

are there really 8 million jw's?
by wannaexit inlast circuit assembly there was 700+ present and 1 baptized.. recently there was a foreign language assemble of over 500 and 1 baptized.. in the last 5-10 years i haven't been to one assembly where there has been more than a handful baptized.
at the memorial all i see are the same old faces that have been coming since the flood.. the hall complex i attend has 6 congregation and several groups-there is negative growth.
when you factor in the demographically aging folk and the many who have already passed away, i don't know where they get the 8 million.. i know that most of the growth is from the developing countries, but still i think they are fudging their numbers.

She thinks I doubt due to a mental illness. I am alone, I go in field service and become extremely depressed as I hear the critical opinions of Bro and sisters towards the people in our territory.
The arrogance, the self righteousness and the pride make me so unhappy.
Any suggestions how to cope?

disfellowshipping
by Sabin inif disfellowshipping was to be done away with, aside from the authorities that should be informed of child abuse so it may be dealt with legally, how should these one`s be dealt with within the congregations?.
-
Deltawave
Disgellowshipping isn't the problem as many who I have known to be Disfellowshipped have done something pretty bad, cheat on their wives, get girls pregnant then ignore them and split up families or start abusing drugs etc.
So many of these people are ones I would choose not to have close association with anyway. However I do not and can not for the life of me comprehend why such ones are totally shunned. Especially inside the kingdom Hall. The kingdom Hall should be the one place where we are ALL equal in the sight of God. And not having close association with a person doesn't mean you have to shun the with the extremist behaviour that prevails the congregations today 😕
