since i left.... so there i was, a disabled single dad bereft of all he had known or believed for 30 years.. i had moved a good 45 minutes away from the area where the events in my introductory post went down, but was now living in an area where i had resided some ten years earlier and still had a few stale connections with the organization.. i was lonely, depressed, pissed off, and really disgusted with the god i had been shown in my years of unfruitful association.. in my mind, he had made me the way i am, which apparently entailed being unable to meet his 'righteous requirements', and was going to kill me for it.
he had endowed all of us with a natural human nature (apart from our fallen sinful nature,) and now expected us to conquer our every natural impulse or desire, even the healthy ones, to survive the big a.. hold off on marriage or kids, no college, no success, no normalcy... the big a'll get ya if ya don't watch out!.
so i railed against him, defied him to just take me, do anything to show he even existed or had any power at all.. i went around saying 'god is an a$$h*le' and the like, but then i realized something that shook my world..... i was just as much a witness outside the organization as i had been inside!.
Roller Dave,
Thanks for sharing your beautiful and inspiring story. I can relate as I have been out, hating God, for 11 years and only recently have I started to regain my relationship with him.
well we now have a wonderful happy healthy baby boy ,as of march 30th.
not getting much sleep ,but oh well , he is a joy to have.so wish us luck, we have a 18 month old also, so this should be interesting.
so far my in-laws have not even come to visit or see him at the hospital or to our home , even though they have been told they are always welcome.
Congratulations on your new baby. I wanted mine close together as well. I had 4 in 4 years. It was hectic and definitely insane at times, but so worth it. Enjoy them ...they grow up way too fast. My daughters are 25, 24, 23, and 21 now and have always been the best of friends to each other.
I second the person who said to concentrate on what you have as opposed to what you don't.
I feel very sorry for the grandparents. They are soooo missing out. It is their loss.

and i say thank god that this abhorrent practice is not legal any longer.. i don't feel rowe vs. wade (the right of a women to an abortion) should be banned, but definitely partial birth abortions should be.. am i for willy nilly abortion?
but if there were ever a situation say a woman's health was in jeapordy i feel she should have the right to a legal ending of her pregnancy.. for those that choose abortion as a means of birth control or some other lame reason, i believe that is wrong.. how do you feel?.
juni .
I agree with Helen. Personally, I could never have an abortion at any time during the pregnancy, for any reason, but that is just my opinion. I will not judge another woman for her choice to have an early abortion...before 13 weeks.
In my opinion, partial birth abortions are cruel, barbaric, and definitely murder. They are done starting at 20 weeks. The baby is fully formed and viable with our modern technology. They can occur even later in the pregnancy, even at 8 months. It is true...the baby is partially delivered, then while it's head is still inside the womb, scissors are poked into it's brain, the hole is enlarged, and then it's brains are sucked out. How can anyone do this? How could it ever have been legal? Personally, I am glad it is now against the law, and hope it stays that way.
flora and fauna in my yard....by time you start, these will be burnt out.
enjoy!.
.
Oh, so pretty. I saw two robins today so Spring is really here in Massachusetts now. LOL.
if i remember correctly, someone last year posted the memorial talk outline a week or so before the memorial.. does anyone have access to this year's outline?
.
i'm curious because of the new wt article that basically backs away from teaching that the 144,000 were all chosen by 1935. i'd like to see how it is mentioned in this year's talk because, as we all know, the memorial talk is more about the anointed and how they alone partake than it is about jesus..
Crumpet,
LOL. LOL. LOL. Too funny.
for me, it was the un debacle.
their association and weak retreat was priceless.
after that, silentlambs ranks right up there.. of course, if it were not for ray franz, many of us would've never even thought about leaving!.
For me, it was way pedophilia is condoned, followed by the info in Ray Franz's book, especially the Beth Sarin house. That really freaked me out!.
on monday, april 2nd, 2007 at 6pm, the third annual demonstration in front of the kingdom hall of jehovah's witnesses in wilmington, mass will take place.
come and help us stop newly interested ones to escape the tentacles of the watchtower organization.
your presence will help jehovah's witnesses, jw relatives and bible studies to at least think.
Hi, Rick. I am an ex-JW living in Billerica, MA and would love to help at your protest. [email protected]
Please get in touch.
Thanks,
Tara
