For those of you who don't go to meetings anymore...
by exwitless inwhen you attended your last meeting ever as a dub, did you know it was your last?
did something happen which made it clear in your mind you were 'never going back' (not to be confused with nvrgnbk)?.
the last meeting we went to was the memorial in 2006. we only went because we knew we were already pegged for the elders' unwanted attention, so we had to go to keep them off our backs a little longer.

No, I did not know it was my last meeting. My mom was in the hospital, sick with leukemia. I had been visiting her everday afterwork, meeting nights after meetings. Then the doctor said she had a week at most left. That week was like a blur, trying to work, take care of 4 kids, visit my mom. I was at the hospital every spare minute I had. I did not attend any meetings that week. One of the loving sisters told me I shouldn't be at the hospital, I should be at the meetings. After my mom's funeral I sat down and wrote a DA letter, drove to the KH and left it wedged in the doorway. I just gave up. I had always felt I wasn't good enough no matter what I did. Not enough service, misssing meetings for work, abusive, non-believing husband who almost strangled me when he found out I was taking my kids to an elder's house down the street for the bookstudy. I DAd still believing all of it, hook, line, and sinker, and knowing I was walking away from Jehovah and had doomed my kids and me to everlasting destruction. I just could not do anymore than I was doing and basically just gave up and didn't want to try anymore. What was the point? Fast forward 10 years to last winter when I heard about Crisis of Conscience and read it...Poof! No more fear, no more guilt. I just wish I had known about that book a lot sooner.

Love your title. I certainly know the feeling. LOL. Glad you are feeling up to posting a bit. I, too, have MS...the "good" kind, relapsing/remitting, like you. Take betaseron shot every other day for over 3 years now...HATE those damn shots. Being a nurse, I was devasted when I got my diagnosis. (I had never been so sick in all my life). In the past 3 years I've only had new lesions on the first MRI after my DX was made. Having MS sure put things into proper perspective (for me, anyways). I don't sweat the small stuff anymore. Can no longer work, which sucks, but it sure beats the alternative of being 6 feet under. Take care of yourself. I look forward to reading your future posts.

Just another silly test.
by DJK init is from an orthopaedic surgeon.... .
this will boggle your mind and you will keep trying over and over again to.
see if you can outsmart your foot, but, you can't.

Tara
Hahahaha. It's amazing how your foot changes directions even when you consciously tell it not to.

The WTS could have donated all those lambs to a children's ward in a hospital or anything else, but throw them away!
They have no natural affection.

What about your JW past are you thankful for?
by nvrgnbk inin the interest of self-healing and finding the peace that comes from being grateful, can you think of anything at all that was positive about having been one of jehovah's witnesses?.
not to be misunderstood with missing something about it, is there something about the experience that has enriched you?.
to answer the question myself, being forced to face the fallacies of the teachings of jwism, i was also prompted to look past those teachings and reevaluate everything i believed in.. that experience was frightening and unsettling, but i'm thankful for it.. i now have a greater appreciation for life in all its wonder than i did when i took it for granted as one of jehovah's witnesses.. i'm more determined now to find meaning in this life, after having lived for so long for a future that was never to arrive..

The only thing about my JW past that I am thankful for is that I got the hell out!

poll for the ladies....
by sweetstuff ini noticed alot of polls of what the guys prefer..how about the ladies?
do you prefer blonde, redhead or dark?
how about height?
-
Tara
There's also something incredibly sexy about the rugged look.
I'm with you. Worker guys (road construction, carpenters, etc) in jeans and sh*tkickers are way more sexy than suits.

I like guys that have integrity, are taller than me (I'm 5'4"), can make me laugh, treat me nicely (and by nicely I mean with respect, not things).
I took a test once on a dating site that said I prefer 'teddy bears' and that is true. I like big guys. Nicely trimmed beards and moustaches are a plus.
John Doe and FA won't believe me, but money has never been a requirement. The love of my life was 5' 6", funny, stocky, dark haired, mustache and beard, harley rider, a mason (job).
He broke my heart.

Shower in the morning and bath at night. Nothing beats a leisurely bubble bath with music, book, candle, and glass of wine.
