Mmm HB,
What inner self 'replacement' was strong enough to empower you to do what you previously relied on prayer for, in moments of utter weakness?
i believe that jehovah's witnesses are a cult and that many of the doctrines of the watchtower.
society are laughable.
when i was an active zealous elder i prayed alot every day.

he violated the sabbath law and he saved a condemned woman from being stoned in compliance with the law.. does it matter he had scruples and self-justifying theological arguments?.
would those arguments have saved anybody else from being put to death?.
technically speaking (the letter of the law) could we truly speak of jesus as really without sin?.
The perspective surrounding Jesus existence is interesting!
First, to take Jesus as divine, one must accept the Jews were gods only channel of divinity - so China, India, Russia, American Indians, SA natives, Australasians etc etc etc were all just humans void of gods approval!
Then one must accept that Jesus was divine!
And that what he said was gods intent!
Which sorta was much different than the way Jews lived - stoning people etc - which sorta suggests they couldn't be carrying out gods intent?? Which sorta questions whether they were hooked up to divine intent in the first place - which kinda makes you wonder about Jesus being the Messiah!
Jesus standing right there in the promised lands - right there, it utterly contradicts what the Jews stood for! Jesus claimed himslef to be a new covenant - absolutely meaning the Jewish one was not gods express will! And the change was landslide stuff!! So had god changed his mind? The all knowing god? Constant and just and loving above all else?
The idea of the new covenant is a contradiction of Jews being chosen people! It states as reality that the way they think about how god thinks is flawed - which means their way is not the chosen way!
And so, if Jesus was divine, he cannot sin due his status, but fulfilling prophecies which weren't from a people who upheld divine intent - since Jesus berated much of what their authorities upheld and stood for as being divine intent, suggests god is incapable of disseminating his express will to the humanity he is claimed as having undying love for!
So, by virtue of the fact that Jesus was a peaceable human of immeasureable compassion, he was a force for life and harming none!
If you believe the Jews to be chosen and therefore Jesus there contradictory Messiah, then he cannot have sinned due to being divine!
But if you, like I, believe less in the concept of sin and more in the harm none philosophy absent a satan figure tempting you, maybe you will also consider him predominantly as striving to uphold all that creation and nature intends and sin becomes less of a focus.
To me the question is less about him erring and far more about the overall form of his heart condition - which was pretty spectacular and giving to an extreme!
i believe that jehovah's witnesses are a cult and that many of the doctrines of the watchtower.

Good question and unless you have alternatives you have no point of reference!
The feeling inside when you pray is sometimes a very different feeling to any other but nevertheless one conjured up by networks of thought and emotion.
So what other experience do you have of similar type auras?
One I had was looking into witchcraft and how full moon is a high energy point in the cosmic cycle of things!
This is actually scientifically intriguing?
A full moon - so the Earth is balanced almost in line with the sun and moon!
And nature responds to it - as when turtles lay eggs and much sea life does amazing things!
Tides turn with the moon etc etc
So lying and sensing the energies of a clear night with a full moon and feeling myself a part of nature and the idea all nature is god and god has spirit in me, else life would have deserted me, is a way I felt hypersensitised to it all! And it conjured up notions of the sacredness of all living things!
So it was like a prayer in the subconscious - not an asking or detremining but a relaxing and focusing with all the time it took to either feel nothing or feel something! And if you feel something let it run and run!
So that was my experience of something which is only real to me and may be a delusion if it weren't for the fact that all nature is reality!
on what basis did god so love the world?.
the world of mankind had been condemned to death by god's curse in eden!.
god viewed mankind as "dust on the scales".
Perry, you are fighting for what you have fallen for - your belief ( an imagined reality)
This imagined reality is one your brain and emotion are bound up in - so much so that you cannot think or feel outside of its ring-fence!
Maybe one day you will see how the Bible, for most of history has been a work in progress by men in authority working out a framework for communal living! You even see it today with JWs - always changing their slant on one thing or another - and imagin that going on over thousands of years and you will understand how god may change form a warlike bloodthirsty fearsome divinity to a jesus like persona ( although that has done little to prevent the warlike one resurfacing when they feel it necessary for battle)
The Bible is an excellent book for controlling large numbers of humans = in peacetime it can be said love each other and in wartime an eye for an eye!
Perry, I believe you are sincerely looking and think you have found ONE 'ready written truth' amongst your species?
For what it's worth I will add the following albeit futile IMHO -at this point in where you are at!
I gave up my search when I reached a place of thinking it did not exist! First in my head amidst a long period of angst like a scalpul to my brain -but finally - and this is so weird - in my inner core emotion when I got on a forum with Wiccans - can you believe that - witchcraft LMAO!???
But then I had already come across Buddhism, Nature based faiths, witchcraft (Wicca was the final one) and looked into them all in differing degrees with a fearless heart, and felt maybe the truth is within me if only I can learn how to tune into it! Presently I follow nothing and am in a frought state sorting personal stuff out but in no way worried about god or what he expects - much more wondering why so much has gone wrong and in spite of my sincerest efforts over decades of dyfunctional deeply personal psychological imprisonment that I couldnt get my head out of - save suicide!
So any love that god may have is already in you. I keep starying in my heart into Wicca and panentheistic ideas of god being in all nature and all nature being full of tiny forces ready for me to gain strength of if I only learn how.
Maybe Jesus found it and passed the idea on - of the truth being inside you and in nature around you? Remember he never got as far as Australia - otherwise he may have put a stop to Aboriginal circumcision lol AAAOOUUUCH!! But now everyone is thinking they have to 'over include him' when maybe that's not quite what he meant?
I hope you find a more mellow pathway!
Crusoe.
i wonder if anyone else who grew up as a jw can relate with me on this subject.. i grew up hearing stories of 'faithful brothers & sisters' being tortured to a point where they were almost dead.
all they had to do to be set free was renounce jehovah and their religon.
the stories i heard of torture were graphic in nature and to this day i can not handle hearing about torture or watch it being portrayed in movies.
Quite so,
All the emphasis on gods chosen people being put to ultimate tests by satan and how those JWs in concentration camps were an example of Jesus like sufferings as satan tested their faith to the end!
And how each JW will have satan and his demons on their trail to make them break before they die!
The WTBTS are ba$$@rI>$ for ever imprinting ALL people with those subliminal mindframes to carry around as humans and so be too ready to do whatever they utter!!!
WTBTS - you are unbelievable in your INTENT to HARM humans !
i read on aol today that the morman church is inviting former members to return to the church.
food for thought....would former jehovah's witnesses return to the organization if the invintation would be extended from the society?
would you go back if being disfellowshipped or disassociated was not an issue any longer?
Its like returning to a divorced partner because they changed their underwear!
Not really what its all about!
The whole holistic infrastructure is what has you in a head lock and cardiac arrest!
alrighty then .
i'm as burnt out as you probably are reading more threads about the faulty witness view of the " generation ".
but please hear me out from a common sense viewpoint here.
I wonder who the oldest chosen one wa in say 1915, and who the youngest chosen one was in 2008?
And how is it that Jesus only just let them in on this deal?
And how, if earlier anyone had mentioned it as a truth, with 1914Jesus being set up etc, they would be in trouble for apostacy teachings?
It's making me think they are about to steal someone elses dates for the age of Aquarius and say this can go on another century or whatever!
It would not surprise me in the least and then their organisation need not worry for years about the end scuppering all their followers!
Do you perceive a 1975 like change in the air ? as if they are prepared to lose some but are paving the way for even more naieve victims in the most distant parts of the Earth?
this can be so overwhelming.
there are so many false religions around today that it is astounding.
if a person does not have a strong bond with god it is easy to fall prey to the devil's deceitful plans.
You seem a very nice person real one - I have no regular friends and no belief in the Bible so one doesnt follow the other!
Cant tell your age/male female so am slightly cautious but I wish you well in the future and hopefully some nice friends someplace!

I don't believe in,
'If'
anymore!
our culturally biassed and contextual image of god is that of a male being, omnipotent, eternal, and existing outside the created world.
sirona introduced me to a new type of god (maybe one without caps, i'm not sure): a divinity who is human-like, framed within the human perspective, subject to suffering, growing and dying, like anything else in the visible universe.. isn't it time to face the fact that our western image of god is nothing more than our perspective on god with all its negative and positive aspects included?
why do we need to prove the existence of our god if it's only the perspective we feel comfortable with?
