  i posted this over at paradise cafe but i thought i would share it with you folks as well:

  we had the special two day assembly this past weekend.

  most of presentation was fairly tame.

  Yeah burger time - that idea of private surveillance on youngsters - or anyone - for their leaders to then get you shunned by family etc. unless you step in line with all they say - what massive control tactics they employ! It forces people to behave like they are under cover in their own lives and then become paranoid and likely do things under stress they ordinarily would have a clearer thinking perspective over!

  Their whole aura sucks!! It's a high control - happy if you're in control religion, bullying the rank and file!

  It's sickening to imagine how some are silently destroyed inside their souls by WT regime under the false command of a false god!

  confession time!

  i was raised in the troof and therefor never "chose" it.

  i find it really hard to get my head around why anyone would ever join this organization as an adult.

  The basic human need in any who are absent a network of community or family is a tribal one!

  And JWs offer an ideal vision plus much initial person to person contact - the very thing that most humans respond to!!

  Additionally they do not highlight negatives the recruit is unaware of the sinister nature of and go full steam ahead severing all prior dependency the individual had on their previous way of life and culture! This is the nail in their coffin if they ever step out again!!

  And remember in the WTs All Seeing Eye they have lots of history about what works in getting people to come along! Their Kingdom Ministry is evolved speak to lure people in! Ahh - but then they say it was all about the individuals original weakness if they ever leave and suffer some depressive conditions! Likely they have been pushed even further into co dependency - no longer on humans in their family - but on WT literature which the WT just love to do!!

  The KM is religious grooming psycho speak disguised as salvation and liberation from your own life and sexuality - possibly some of the few things you had left to enjoy?

  Have we become like those we despise?

  ak jeff and i have just had a small disagreement on the charlton heston thread.

  nothing important or serious, but it just struck me that in our exchanges he and brentr have used a couple of lines of false argumentation to get their point across.. i can't help but think its strange that with all our moaning about the watchtower and its false argumentation methods, are we prepared to use exactly the same methods when our views are challenged?.

  i find this a bit disconcerting, especially on here of all places.

  I'm in a few trains of thoughts here

  First up : It's predominantly not the individual JW we hold to account - unnless they were playing the double agent and deliberately messing around with sincere souls in which case it is despicable!

  Second: It is the collective thought which we despise! And since no single person is accountable it falls upon those in authority within their ranks to take any criticisms - by default - and mainly those at the top claiming how god is the feeder of information they inflcit on peoples lives etc, etc,

  Thirdly : the realisation that the WT does indeed impose certain 'personality disorders' on its followers which leave many of them ill prepared for life in society in general! And the experience of many is one where their personality is even further demolished with time when outside the WT. Many are seriously hurt and it gets worse before it ever feels like being human is worth getting up for each day!

  So : who would not despise becoming such a crushed soul? Thanks to JW mindsurgery the inner self of each of us is in need of much love and repair which will likely never come along! So we go on but hate the idea of our certain knowledge the same will happen to ones now falling into their command!

  Fourthly: Our seemingly harsh criticisms of their organisation are unnatural to our inner being - we do not enjoy the thoughts of foisting negatives on others but seeing what continues to happen is what enables us to maybe speak in ways we ordinarily despise of!

  Maybe the WT will move its farm to the cotton fields so you ladies can weave your own fabrics!

  Maybe someone will start a JW fashion line for KH attendance? And an underwear line for those sisters going knickerless in the hot weather?

  And of course exJWs want illicit sex - what else could replace the orgasmic JW experience? We need as much as we can get!

  Ladies - please all show us yer Homers Doughnuts - bring it on!! Doooooooooo!

  A Moderate Tendency Towards Narcissism.

  Seeing as how some recent threads put links up for narcissism I thought maybe this personal test may shed light on some of the controversy!

  My feeling on reading up on some of the stuff is that its like a crime scene scenario where you were there and innocent but cant prove to everyone you didn't do it!!

  I see a lot of this in psychology speak and I think it must cause a lot of vulnerable people a lot of further suffering on top of how bad they already feel!!

  Like being branded narcissistic gets people reading around it and attributing all manner of things to your persona and then scrutinising your behaviour for very 'controversial' examples which seem to prove the diagnosis = even though your motives are completely opposite to the ones suggested in the resume for what constitutes narcissistic behaviours! Seems to me that if someone brands you as having it you're in a lose-lose situation??

  Kiss of death psychology speak - which seems to suggest heartlessness and I'm convinced some viewed that way have the most loving hearts of all - just that insecurities completely keep closing up their whole persona like a sea anenome when an aggressive aura imposes on their close quarters!

  Just some thoughts I'm trying to quantify about why 'narcissism' seems to me to be a bum deal for anyone to have applied to them!

  Am I missing something? Please enlighten me!

  The supposition that the Jewish god is the only god!

  The claim by some that Jesus simultaneously is god, is his son etc

  The fact that all reality is current human interpretation i.e. none of the three can be proven/disproven conclusively so it is hypothetically possible that Jesus was god and claimed he wasnt but everyone, seeing what he did claimed he was!

  Mathematically it is hypothetically possible he was god and was insane because who is to say that insanity is not the ultimate reality!

  And it could be said he was god and lied because the supposition by humans is that god cannot lie!

  Obviously mathematical possibility is separate from religious ideology which frequently rules out events which contradict their preffered reality and so questions of contradiction tend to be only ones which allude to such!

  I agree Wiz and when I'm feeling really lazy - or too low to search (which is more like it) - I sometimes will post an erroneous thought or argument hoping someone will pick me up and slam dunk me with it! That way I will more likely remember the correction - lol!

  It's an interesting border crossing dont you think? The above question?

  How far do you go into new territory before you get called for it?

  No matter how genuine, sincere, hard working or needy you and your family may be - if you get pulled you may have a fight on your hands!

  i have been following the work of the group "anonymous" who are campaigning to bring the cult of scientology under closer scrutiny.

  although i don't necessarily agree with all of their methods they have certainly been effective in attracting the media's attention which has in turn cast a spotlight on scientology.

  on the whole it seems that is something which has yet to happen to the wbts.. .

  Interesting observation!

  Is it because the WTBTS tend to project a submissive dynamic?

  Slightly reminiscent - and I apologies in advance ladies for the comparison - a female who marries for reasons other than love but acts the part to perfection till the ring is on!

  Definitely my feeling after being 'in' too deep to get out!!
