i have a "friend" and i say that loosely because i don't think that she is a good friend.
she only calls me when my husband is in town to do stuff with her, i.e.
go to lunch, etc.
If she is after hubby she is either stupid - to ignore you when she knows you're alone and not when he's home, or else she's playing you cuz she senses it may intimidate and divide you both - or it's all a coincidence!! - I've heard of some women doing this tricksy stuff like they're deeding you rope to hang yourself with - seems far fetched to me but somepeople are waay baad on messing others around like garbage.
Take T's advice for a quick resolution and find what's the deal!!

i tried hard not to pay attention, but still went nuts when the wt said things clearly not in the bible (which i don't even believe anymore!).

Ooompa - i guess it's due to so many castles in the air built for your life by others and as you see each wall tumble you cant help but go mention to those who are building sandcastles as reality how you see them and their ways!
You see delusion but it is part of your roots and your reality through family - which stops you making a clean break! Its one reason the shunning is so despicable because they quietly regard your new view as effluent and theirs as divine whereas you see it for what it is
A living delusion and cruel intent on others futures which you know will not cease!!
what i mean is, ones who loved the meetings and field service.
ones who loved telling a person why they dont celebrate christmas, birthdays etc etc.........................ones who thought it wonderful that their children missed out on so much, and stood out in school and became a target for bullying.. i myself did everthing because i was terrified of the big "a" and so thought everything was worth it.
but i hated going to meetings, hated going on fs, hating not celebtating christmas and never really excepted the birthday thing.
Yeah - mainly the severalth generation sorts who had parents and siblings in already = who had personal family tribal get togethers which new recruits were absent of as human experiences etc (dropping all traditions from worldly associations etc) and they were usually stereotyped for privelage cuz they were the sons and daughters of so and so etc etc!
This is what you have no clue about when you first believe all their 'Jehovah is ours alone' garbage!!
You soon realise the 'Naked Ape' JWs who enjoy it, have etched out for themselves all the aspects of basic human tribal bonds and community in their personal lives which they generally expect newbies to largely forgo and just get on with all the WT rank and file slavery!!
And obviously it is all divinely inspired so if you get pi$$ed off it is because holy spirit is only in their bloodline!

he didn't even argue with me, ok.... it's just, i didn't even realize things myself until i actually said it outloud to him... i didn't realize the depth of how painful certain things they do are.... it's like, my heart just turned warm and dropped to the pit of my stomach... i feel awful, all over again... .

i was watching oprah yesterday and she was talking about how some people are afraid to read this because they think it will interfere with their religious beliefs.
it got me to wondering if any believing jw's are reading this.

i was thinking that understanding -- in the sense of self-, community- or world-understanding -- might be the main stuff people are looking for, and willing to buy, in religion and philosophy.
even before hope, comfort, practical help or the sense of belonging.
a "vision" (in greek theoria) that "makes sense" of "reality" as it is perceived and construed.. it seems to me that such understanding (or intelligibility) has little to do with "truth".
By virtue of having a brain one likely puts it to some use for the fact of its existence until one becomes tired of it,
Lie if one has a hammer one doesn't ask why but tends to look for opportunities to knock nails in places of interest!
Till eventually one questions the need for shelves and what is on them which then renders the hammer redundant!
This is a classic turning point because it may interfere with copulation and why you are doing what you have always doen just because it is there!
So the next time you hold a hammer in your hand, beware of over analysis -you could talk yourself out of having a brain!
