If God truly loved humans...why not reveal himself ? So that they could make an informed decision ?

we learn from the bible that god spoke to adam ,then certain faithful ones,then after moses only the preisthood that was established,and individuals, raised as prophets,and this by the way is only a a small select group on the planet.never mind about other groups of humans.

fastforward to the era of christ ,again, god is only dealing with a small select group to advise and admonish.during the time from moses to christ he was only dealing with what became one small nation.the rest of humankind were left to their own devices.fastforward down to this 21st century we have no guidance/instruction/prophets to instruct or guide us.

( i know this is where jw`s would say but we have been preaching & teaching you god`s truths since 1879 ) all i can say their, is take your head out of the sand and look at all the changes ,corrections adjustments,re-adjustments,reversals,and failed expectations of prophecy you have published over this last century )so as to my question why hasn`t the god of the universe revealed himself to all humans of every race on all continents instead of just a small select group, if he truly was interested in the human race.

I`m sorry I`m not able to respond to each individual post,I think their have been some interesting, informative posts to my initial question,however I would say a number have responded within a christian judeo world if you like.( Western world ?) What seems to be the case these have deliberately avoided the non christian population on the earth, since the christian era.

India.1,190,890,000 pop.

Pakistan 171,195,000

Bangladesh 149,603,000

Plus many more non christian nations with many more thousands in population

So then back to my original question: As to these nations: If God truly loved humans ...why not reveal himself ?So that humans could make an informed decision whether to serve him or not. None of these nations have had any communicado with Gods prophets ,none of these nations have had the visions or miracles the western nations claim have in abundance. You can go back something like 6000 yrs,and you wont find any evidence of the christian ? hebrew God dealing with these people.

i was looking through some old photographs the other day,my wife and i are not that organised with photo`s,we have boxes of them that we never put in albums,and we have been married nearing 50 years ,so you can imagine we have a few.in the early 60`s when i was converted their was an article in a watchtower dealing with the clergys involvement with nazi germany during world war 2 .being newly converted i had some long discussions with my brother inlaw,who was a catholic, about religion.so when this magazine came out i wrote to the branch office in strathfield enquiring whether i could obtain the photos proving this.not long after i received 4 photo`s from the branch office in strathfield providing this evidence.at the time i didn`t think to much about it.but now 50 years later i think why would they give a newly baptised person this?

(i know they would look for any opportunity to bag catholics then and now ) i have the original envelope from strathfield to me but the postage stamp is missing however the return adress is clearly identifiable.on the back of the photo`s is some information presumably in german and english translation.1.new years reception by hitler 2.hitler greets lutheran reichs bishop muller,3.papstliche gcandte nuutius vasallo di fowegrossa( papal representative)4.on return of saar to germany r.c.bishops von trier and speyer giving nazi salute.has anybody else ever had a similar experience,being given documents from the society,that years down the track ,think,why would they?.

Ps...It always puzzled me why the WT publications singled out the Roman Catholics for special attention,you hardly heard a peep out of them against other major christian religions eg Greek Orthodox,Russian Orthodox,or even the Mormons,or Adventists.It`s true they have commented on these religions,but nothing like the barrage against catholics they have produced.

Palimpsest...The trouble is I don`t have an accompaning letter with these photo`s. I`m sure their would have one, but alas it`s not with the photo`s ,only the envelope identifying the sender.

WTS: creative days took aeons - WT Feb 15th, 2011

there's already a couple of threads discussing this particular issue of kool-aid version of the wt, but i just had to start another after reading about the creative days mentioned in this issue.. we debate from time to time if the wts has ever officially retracted their doctrine that the earth and all things created are less than 50,000 years old.

there's been some quotes that show them waffling on the age of the planet itself but still sort of holding to the notion of all creation happening within a defineable 7 day period.

What i understood on this topic during the 50`s -70`s was that" in the beginning God created the heavens and earth"Gen 1:1 (That is the universe we see through technological advances we have today) That could have been aeons ago ,millions of yrs or billions of yrs ago.What followed then is when God turned his attention to creating life on earth,and that is where the 7000 years for a creative day originated for the preperation of this planet for human habitation Gen 1:2 onwards. The time of creation to the flood approx.2000 yrs,from the flood to the appearance of christ approx 2000 yrs,another 2000 yrs brings us to approx the year 1975,give or take a few months.Thats what I was led to beleive all those years ago,and I tried to instill it in every one I met for 33 yrs. ( I do take comfort on this board that I`m not the only dickhead around )

''there is no reason to think that they [demons] cannot possess persons today.. this is not to say that all those mentally sick are so possessed, for they are not.. mentally sick persons, however, in their weakened state, may present more vulnerable targets for their assaults and invasions.. some show evidence of demon possession, whereas others show evidences of merely mental sickness or nervous breakdown.

i for one would not want to work with people with mental illness or depression just in case they were possessed by some of those pesky spirits.. .

This subject fascinated me when I was in 20 odd yrs ago.When the watchtower publications were referring to places like africa or 3rd world countries ,then the emphasis was on demon possesion,with people who were experincing problems.however when people were experincing mental problems in 1st world(,such as the western world), countries they had mental disorders that could be attributed to physical problems.This is with the knowledge we have today,what medical knowledge did they have in the 1st century compared with todays knowledge of mental illness?So how could anyone say that a person was demon possesed,and not merely have a physical condition that may give that impression to impressionable minds.

I`m sorry I`m" old" I haven`t read all the posts on this topic,just a random selection of a few.So am I missing something here? The argument for God is based on second hand information at best from imperfect human beings who we all know have hidden agendas of their own.Nowhere can we verify God has communicated with humans save for those humans who are pushing their own agendas.Now this is true whether we are talking about the christian religion,judaism,Islam,or the multitude of other religions that exist in the world.GOD has not spoken up for any of these,it`s deadly silent after all these centuries.The claim that God gave christians the ten commandments and the rest of the bible ,rests on imperfect humans,the claim mahhomed received his instructions and the koran , came from an imperfect human,and so on and so on with all other religions. To say we need faith in a God is just a sheer copout for not being able to prove the unprovable.
