  And as you say Trev ,when that was written their were still people still living who were alive in 1914 etc,etc.as depicted on the front of the Watchtower magazine .

  And now we know they have all died many years ago and still the end is nowhere to be found.

  Of course after the event Jehovahs Witnesses came up with new light "overlapping generation" , its funny how new light always follows failed prophecys ,failed expectations

  .Searcher & Simons observations are spot on.

  Jesus and the fig tree, what are jws taught?

  in the story in the gospel of mark, mark writes that jesus is hungry and comes across a fig tree.

  mark explains that it not in season yet jesus upon finding the fig tree has produced no fruit kills the tree.. this story makes no sense if literal so do the gun teach that it literally happened?.

  Official Increase in the Number of Jehovah's Witnesses You Shouldn't Trust

  reports are coming from witnesses that, once again, the number of memorial partakers has risen considerably this past year, 2016. while confirmation is still to come on the exact numbers, the current explanations given for this increase surely causes a dilemma.. imagine the roman catholic church publishing each year the number of members who it felt were mistaken about what they believed in, that this same number of members was likely suffering from problems such as pride or even mental disorders or something along this line.

  this number, by the way, was in the thousands too and growing annually.

  what would you conclude, therefore about the catholic church and its admission?.

  The organization of Jehovahs witnesses are obsessed with numbers as their yearbooks show to demonstrate that Jehovah is blessing his organization with increases in publishers ,Mag.distributions,bible studies ,hours ,baptisms etc,etc,

  If the Catholic Church did the same thing today the results the Jehovahs witnesses publish would pale into insignificance .

  On the other hand when the JW`s are forced to acknolwedge their decline in their growth ,they will change tac , and claim it is a sign that the end is very close now ,citing the scripture "in the last days the love of the greater number will cool off "

  Jehovahs witnesses have always had an each way bet on their survival.

  The uptake...

  with recent events pointing at watchtower growth, i felt compelled to say a few words.. if the figures turn out to be true, then we should not be discouraged.

  after 9/11 there was a surge in, not only the watchtower, but other demonisation of organised religion.

  whenever there is a a paradigm shifting event that puts fear into others, this tends to have a life changing affect on an individual.. now let us zoom to the present.

  For a jehovah`s witness increased numbers of publishers , bible studies ,baptisms etc, are all an evidence of Jehovah`s blessing on his modern day organization in these last days.

  That is why these statistics have been a major point of every yearbook since they started them.

  Look how jehovah has blessed his organization with the growths in catholic dominated countries like Spain. Italy ,Brazil , Portugal , etc look how he has opened up the work in African nations , Japan to name a few.

  The figures , numbers do play a big part in JW belief that Jehovah is blessing them.

  That is how it has been up to recent times , however if the numbers do go into decline as has been indicated more recently , this is how the governing body will spin it.

  { It just shows how close we are to the Great Tribulation and Armageddon , because the Scriptures say " that the love of the greater number will cool off " before the end comes .}

  Extreme joy from Witnesses regarding President "Tribulation" Trump!!

  The leaders of the group excommunicate / disfellowship you if you question their authority and use emotional blackmail that you will be cut off from all family and friends for doing so.

  Anyone else hear of this?

  a jw family member informed me they are filling out an application to preach the truth in israel.

  interested ones in the congregation were asked to start saving now, as the cost of the flights would be their own responsibility.

  the time frame for this preaching work is for a couple of weeks in may/june 2017. the applications are to be turned in this sunday.

  Instead of a campaign to encourage JW`s to go to Israel , the people of the Book , the Old testament to give a witness , wouldnt it be more productive of them to go to the other people of the Book ?, those that embrace Islam ?

  Islam has its roots in the early books of the Bible , and they recognise Jesus Christ as a prophet , something the Jewish religion does not accept , so isnt it more logical for them to engage with Muslims ? and not Jews ?

  Their has to be a fertile field in Muslim countries that have some connection with the bible and has been largely ignored by Christianity and especially by Jehovahs Witnesses , who make the claim they have witnessed to the whole world .

  They have made little impact in nations such as Pakistan , India , China , Bangladesh , let alone Muslim countrys. depite the spin to the contrary .

  When you work it all out JW`s have probably only covered abou 1/3rd of the planet in their witnessing , and most of that has already been covered by Christendoms Religions Centuries before them

  And all the JW`s have really done is poached off those that have laid the basis for belief before them .

  I started my first " Mens Gym" session today

  i`m no fitness fanatic by any stretch of the imagination though throughout my life i have strived on & off (more often than not , off ) to maintain some level of fitness activity.. i retired about 10 years ago and for the first few years i joined two table tennis clubs , social activity,though not anymore.. and i have become more of a couch potato these past few years with the internet and netflix and the club as my main concern of activity if you can call it that ,and it has been bothering me ,so finally i did something about it.. only a few doors down from me is a medical health clinic with a gym that caters for seniors like myself , so i bit the bullet and joined up .. and i`m proud of it.. if it kills me in the process then i`ll die doing what i want to do at my age.. sorry to bore you with this post ,but what did you expect a future mr. universe ?.

  When you stop & think about it ,why would Gods chosen people in the Old testament need an army ?

  as the op states why would israel /jewish nation need to have an army at all ?

  if they were the chosen people as the bible states under a theocracy , why would the men of israel need an army .?

  Yes stuck..., you are right, it stands to reason their were deaths and casualties in the wars jehovah approved of, their is nothing in scripture to say the opposite.

  If a JW reads of Women and children being killed in any conflict today around the world , its an evidence of Satans system of things causing it.
