been reading this site for awhile now.
i have had a long and often tragic life as a jw.
my story is so long because i'm pretty old :) i feel sad i've been locked in fear and guilt for my entire life.
I will add my voice of welcome to you Phoebe also.I`m glad you have found this site it has been of immense help to so many of us. And it can be for you too.
Many have already given you so much good advice and encouragement ,so all I can say is take care and enjoy the rest of your life guilt free of displeasing an organization or a God.
i cannot think of a single doctrine that is so clearly laid out in the bible that every christian sect teaches the same point.
are there any doctrine where there is total consensus amongst all christian religions, including jehovah's witnesses?.
40,000 + Christian sects of Christendom + those that identify themselves as Christian that consider themselves not a sect and their are no Doctrines that all Christian religions follow ?
I think that is amazing , obviously the Almighty God Jehovah / Yahweh or whoever you want to call him is not doing a very good job especially as a number of sects believe we are living in the last days /end times and HE hasnt put his mark on any who has the " ultimate truth" the one religion HE sanctions.
Never mind about this religion or that religion saying they have the "truth" , the ALMIGHTY GOD has never sanctioned any religion with his stamp of approval at this time.
looking to start a jw kik group.
mainly looking for ones who are still in or on the fringes.
i know it is probably a longshot, but just thought i'd see if anyone would join a group like that.

Jehovahs Witnesses are not backward in coming forward as to re-writing their own history .They have no shame .

they do sell lottery tickets at few restaurants around my home.
if jw works there and rats me out to the elders, i would not give a damn about it but i still prefer not to hear from the elders about it..

The R& F cant do work for a religious institution without being hauled before a JC hearing and sanctions imposed on him/her , however the Society /organizatiion can sell a KH or Assembly Hall to any religion that is interested in buying it with no problems.

a month ago i decided to register in this board.
i had decided to step down pioneering but was frightened about the consequences.
i had finished my university degree some months before (despite disaproval from brothers in my congregation) and i had to choose: continue pioneering and working in jobs with no future or starting a career, working full-time.. i was thinking to postpone the decisiton but... i was fed up with preaching.
Welcome to the board Skepsis your on the road to a new life ,congragulations on having a career oriented future mapped out before you, instead of wasting your life pioneering for a lost cause.
in the time since i've left the borg behind i've had a few things hit me as to how words were used.
i'm wondering if anyone else has some similar examples, but here are some things that have made me think:.
watchtower - my whole life i saw this as a thing of protection from outside evil forces, and then when i left someone pointed out "isn't that what they used to keep people in prison".
Goats : Everybody outside of the "truth" were goat like people.
Babylonish people as was philistines ,also to describe worldly people .

When its left to imperfect human beings to decide what the Bible meant , what does that say about Gods word being from GOD ?
