i had been in prison two years as a jw conscientious objector when the exciting news about 1975 spread like wildfire.. .

i was paroled from prison in 1969 and immediately began pioneering.

I often wondered about those who were imprisoned as a conscientious objector .Did you have family who were J.W.`s and supported you ? Or were your family not J.W.`s and wondered about your decision .?

How did you cope with your imprisonment for 2 years ? Obviously you were still a firm believer , after coming out you went and pioneered .

We had conscription in Australia and if I had not been balloted out as I was because of my Birth date ,I would have faced a similar situation I guess.

About that time I remember reading in the society`s publications about our Greek brothers who were imprisoned for 5 years , and when they came out and still refused military service were sentenced for another 5 years ,and another 5 years after that , in one case that I remember .

I often wonder if any of them are still around or post here , that is so tragic.

I remember 1975 very well ,I was 36 ,and recall all too well the hype around the 6000 years and the opportune time for Jesus to begin his 1000 year rule.

I remember them also saying it could just happen before 1975 or soon after , because of not knowing exactly how long after Adam Eve was created.

After a reasonable length of time passed and nothing happened , then the society began to blame the R&F for going beyond what was written and jumping to the wrong conclusion , " Knowwhere did the organization prophecy that Armageddon would occur in 1975 " they said.

But they certainly bloody well led everybody to expect it to occur.

One other thing with the scripture "nobody knows the day or hour " The G.B. is on record as saying that since Jesus was enthroned in heaven in 1914 it is reasonable to believe that Jehovah has now confided in him of that time frame / or date .

I was aware they were not being honest about this period , and still I did not wake up till 1992

I was truly brainwashed./stupid /gullible / naive / you name it.

for me, the dead giveaway is this.

jesus wrote nothing.. stop and think about that.. if jesus were the authentic messiah, his ministry would not simply be local.. his instructions, his mission, the details of his teachings would be too precious to risk leaving it in the hands of "men unlettered (illiterate) and ordinary (blue-collar yokels).".

jesus, were he the one and only hope of mankind, would be absolutely certain to write down with great simplicity and specificity the exact owner's manual necessary to rescue mankind.. never happened!.

Wasn`t Jesus supposedly greater than Moses ?

Moses has five books attributed to him , Jesus has none.

Moses seems to have accomplished a lot more in his lifetime than Jesus ever did.

Moses was 120 years old at his death , so if he was instrumental as a servant of Jehovah , say from 30 years of age , that means he had at least 90 years doing God`s work .Look at his service in all those years

Now compare it to Jesus service.

Jesus ? He was only 3 years in doing Gods work , and if you compare what Moses accomplished in all those years with what Jesus achieved , Moses comes up trumps.

I think the Bible shows Moses was greater than Jesus.

The great majority of us have been there , we have all gone through those emotions , and their is nothing fear.

let's set aside our differences for the moment and appreciate this excellent documentary cedars put together that should prove to be an invaluable tool in helping to expose the child abuse issues in the organization.. i was humbled to be able to help with this project on such an important subject, though my part in it was insignificant..

It needs widespread distribution , especially while the focus is on child sexual abuse in the U.K. , the U.S.A. and of course Australia , and elsewhere .

This is the time it needs widespread coverage , how do we do it ?

If a priest hears a confession of someone committing a murder , he`s not bound to report this to the police ?

If that is still the case then obviously that law needs to be changed .The principle of the church being a sanctuary is so outdated , if it still applies ,it should be adjusted to our modern times.

Why aren`t the Jehovah`s Witnesses challenged more when they claim Clergy Penintent as a reason for not providing documents held by them that the law requires and asks for.?

The official stand of the Jehovah`s Witnesses is , they do not have a Clergy Class within their religion , so why do they get away with invoking this clause..?

Every Know Anyone Too "Weak" To Wake Up?

a jw that is probably irregular, they don't really attend meetings, they are not up on anything going on, they may even seem like they are faded but they are not, they are just slackers.

a jw that is impervious to the f.o.g.

(ok maybe it bums them, but they are too lazy and self serving to do otherwise).

As I have said before , many people slacken off in service , meetings , etc , and even become inactive , however because they seemingly leave the "truth" , the "truth" never leaves them , they may only attend the memorial once a year , and they still consider themselves a Jehovah`s Witness regardless of what others think of them.

Memorial campaign with videos??

good morning from the east coast.

i have a question.

a friend of mine texted me and one of the things she said was that they were getting a lot of great responses with the campaign because they are showing the video.

The fact that the G.B. now expects witnesses to show a video inviting the public to this event, just emphasizes to me they have little confidence in the R&F to do so effectively .

In other words the d2d preaching done now a days is ineffective due to the poor teaching programs conducted by the organization ,

I can understand how, naive J.W.`s are getting all excited about this new approach , however the fact remains , it`s not going to convince anyone J.W.`s are the truth, and should be investigated further.

No mention that the invited person is just an observer and not a participant.

It carefully obscures how Jesus was crucified , on a stake and not a cross.

And what is different from tele-evangelism and this video really .

Ten years out.....

i'm not sure how useful this post will be, but i feel compelled to write it.

with many of my older posts, i wrote them with a younger jw version of me in mind.

with this i write it with a younger newly ex jw in mind.. ten years ago i went to my presiding overseer and told him my concerns about wt owning 'rand cam' military stocks, about unfulfilled prophecy and human error in the governing body and the theocratic consequences of such.

Jehovah's Witnesses: A Clear Decline

it is rather clear that the internet is to put it mildly, wrecking the world of the watchtower bible & tract society.

if not for foreign language i doubt there would be much growth at all.. digital trends and analytics are very real.

i live this analytics world i assure you to some degree you can take it to the bank.

The trend of die-hard J.W.`s to divorce a former believing mate could be having a backlash on the religion , rather than pointing to it as the" true religion", it`s doing quite the opposite , the public are seeing it for what it truly is a wrecker of marriages .
