Hello, fairly new, studying for around 7 months, just thought I would introduce myself.

Firstly : Welcome to the board , your brain seems to be functioning alright by me , you are reasoning quite well on what has been presented in the previous posts.

Secondly : Whatever you do don`t get baptized ,it will ruin your life.

Thirdly :It`s true their are many genuinely nice / good people who are J.W.`s , but that fact doesn`t mean they have the " truth" anymore than a Baptist person who is a good caring loving person has the "truth" or a Catholic person who is a good loving caring person has the "truth" or even a Muslim who is a good loving caring person , does not mean they have the "TRUTH" about religion.

If you decide not to continue your studies with your "friend" and he decides you are no longer his friend , then he is the loser not you , he was not worthy of your friendship , if that is the case.

"Reproach on Jehovah's name"

the longer i am away from the cult, the more very childish and downright silly it seems in many many ways.. just another example of the childlike way they do not think things through is their obsession with "not bringing reproach on jehovah's name", that concept was used to stop jw's doing all sorts of stuff, a lot of it quite normal.. but the worst aspect of this concept is that they cover up the evil within their org any way they can.. yet they only have to look back on all the cover-ups of the past, by other religions, by politicians etc etc to see that an open acknowledgement and an open dealing with the situation at the time is far better.. cover-ups get exposed in the end, and leave you looking far worse than if dealt with honestly..

Aren`t Jehovah`s Witnesses / the Governing Body , themselves bringing reproach on GOD`s name ?

They have admitted in there own publications that the name "Jehovah" is not the correct pronunciation for the Tetragramatton YHWH , yet they insist on calling themselves Jehovah`s Witnesses , Why ?

Their reasoning :" It is the most commonly accepted name in use today"

I ask you , the most commonly accepted name , by who ? Why Christendom of course who else uses the name Jehovah.

Jehovah`s Witnesses view Christendom as the most reprehensible part of" Babylon The Great the world empire of false religion" so why would they adopt the name of GOD that Christendom bestowed upon him .?.

It would have been more credible for them to have adopted the name YAHWEH and not Jehovah

Yet they continually promote this wrong name of God world wide , bringing reproach upon his name.

THOUGHTS ON UPGRADING TO (Free) WINDOWS 10

i've been using windows 7 for several years and have had no complaints.. i've tried many browsers and settled on google chrome.

it has absolutely everything i want or need.. i kept hearing about the free upgrade to windows 10, so i went to youtube and watched endless "reviews" pro and con.. what pushed me over the (microsoft edge) was the fact i could test drive the new operating system.

for 30 days and go back to windows 7 if i didn't like it!

I`m a complete computer NERD

I switched from windows7 to windows10 simply because I thought 10 was better than 7

Maybe my sub-conscience brain was still thinking JWISM

7 being earthly perfection and 10 being heavenly perfection , so why stop at 7 when you can go straight to 10

And quite frankly for what I do on my computer I can`t tell the difference .

I wish I could understand all those previous posts , about the pros and cons , but it just goes way over my head.

Is their anybody else out there like me?

Or am I the only NERD with a computer on this board.?

what buzz word from the jw's do you hate & why?

so my hubby has been on a bit of a roll about the jdubs, we were talking a lot about them & he said the buzz word he hate's the most is "worldly" why?

because he say's "with that one word they have condemned (according to their believes) a person as being worthy of nothing but death.

Jehovah God is only dealing with his Witnesses on earth to dispense truths at the proper time , all other so called Christian religions are false , apostate and lying in the power of the wicked one ( Satan the Devil)

Geoffrey Jackson at the Australian Royal Commission into Institutions of Child Sexual Abuse , when asked by Stewart Angus if Jehovah`s Witnesses believed , only they had the truth , G.J. replied and I quote " That would be presumptious of me to say that " unquote.

Calling themselves Jehovah`s Witnesses , when the Bible clearly states that followers of Jesus Christ"were by Divine providence called Christians " not Jehovah`s Witnesses .

Divine Providence means sanctioned by Jehovah. Did the Nation of Israel ever take up the name Jehovah`s Witnesses after Isaiah 43:12 was uttered ? NO of course not , that was not the intention.And Jesus never ever took them to task for not doing so.And Jesus never ever uttered the word Jehovah or the Tetragrammaton .

In your opening post I think you meant to say Ray Franz`s two books., Fred Franz`s nephew ,minor detail.

By all means keep us updated on how you are progressing in your mission , I`m sure many of us here would like to know how you are doing.

I`m sorry that I cant be instrumental in your quest , but I`m sure many here will be able to help you.

when faced with awkward questions about the morality of god many christians respond by distancing themselves from the old testament and focusing on "gentle jesus meek and mild" of the new testament.. for bible-believing christians this is intellectually dishonest.. according to christian dogma jesus was the god of abraham isaac and jacob.

the logos, the alpha and omega who is "the same yesterday, today, and forever.".

he claimed that "he that has seen me has seen the father" and that "i and the father are one".. in short, christians assert that jesus is almighty god from all eternity.. it therefore follows that jesus was the god who ordered the nation of israel to take slaves as inheritable possessions.

Jehovah allowed the taking of slaves because it was an ancient custom of men .Seriously ?

On certain occasions and Jubilees the slaves could be released with compensation . Big Deal

Jubilee`s occurred .every 50 years , So in reality a slave could be released when he was 50 , 60 , 70 ,80 years old , as I said before big deal , thank you Jehovah .( sarcasm intended )

As for Jehovah never committing murder , you have to be kidding.

Man , woman , child , in countless nations were put to death by the sword at the instruction of Jehovah God in the Old Testament , with the instruction" do not feel sorry for them"" Old men young men , women and children"

You are being pedantic in saying " you don`t recall the Lord using the word murder "

i found the following story while researching the jw mindset and subsequent behavior due to their weekly exposure to mind control techniques.

the story is a bit old but it does speak volumes in terms of the mental anguish the average jw teen must endure as a jw.

Do J.W.`s ever invite known apostates to the memorial ? would they ever do so ? or is that a complete no,no.?

Or is one who is classed as an apostate , one that has committed the unforgivable sin .?

If they should invite you to the memorial in their D2D work and then discover you are an apostate , do they take back that invitation ? and say you are not welcome to attend ?

Just threw away...

so even though i don't drive much because public transit is so good where i live (and parking is a living nightmare), i always had a paper taped onto my glove box that said "no blood transfusions - jehovahs witness.

see legal documentation in wallet.

going through this "wake up" process as been a very crazy, emotional experience.

I have a Medical Record Card that I carry in my wallet that states , " I reject J.W.No Blood Doctrine , I accept all medical procedures including blood products.

I am also a registered Organ Donor .

I felt this was necessary because old medical history records might show up as when I was a believer and rejected blood transfusions., so I have just now dated it 5/3/2016.

The "most honest people" on earth....?

have we noticed how often the society uses comments like this?.

"jehovah's witnesses are the most honest people...etc".

while it may be true that witnesses as a whole are decent, law abiding people, are they truely "honest" when the very foundation of beliefs are based on mistruths?.
