I am an Australian not an American and we have a compulsory voting system here.

I believe you do not have compulsory voting in the USA .

Everything about the USA`s Nations policy`s whether it be internal , external ,Domestic , Foreign Affairs , or whatever else , surely is in the interest of the average citizen .

People who don`t vote can`t complain about the government that has been elected can they.?

In a compulsory voting system such as here in Australia , if persons are so disenchanted with the candidates and they do not want to vote for anybody , they can void their voting ballot.

and it becomes an informal vote. not recorded.for any person or party .

I would advocate for compulsory voting in America if I had the opportunity , it would afford many more people to have their say and at the same time if they were so intense of not voting they just put in an informal vote .

I did it all the time when I was a witness , I just put Jehovah`s Kingdom under Jesus Christ., for many years

You know you have the support of everyone here , you have made the decision to be on the ARC ,so with our support and the support of the ARC , go for it you have the possibility of making drastic changes to the JW`s attitude and policy`s of their response to child abuse .

Isn`t that something to be proud of ? If you had a say in that ?

You have gone this far , I know it is easy for me to say , but please continue on , you have been an inspiration to so many people here .

However it is your decision and we should respect whatever you decide to do .

if you look at the facts and history of both of these religions , you do see a similarity , not only in belief , but also the timing of their origins.

end times ., paradise earth ( similar to the christadephians , baptists ,and other end times religions ) etc.. the jehovah`s witnesses s put a lot of weight on everybody doing door to door work in the ministry .and counting the time spent doing so.. the seventh day adventists do a fraction of the time doing door to door ministry by everybody in their religion , if they even require every body to go d2d and count their time.

i do not know.. what i do know is that the s.d.a.`s have more than twice the number of active believers than the j.w.`s do , over a similar time of history .. so does that not indicate conclusively that the god of the bible is blessing the s.d.a.`s over the j.w.`s ?

That`s right , nothing in comparison , even the help they do do is for their own JW`s or family or interested parties , definetely not for the general public , why not ? because it would be a waste of resources , the world is lying in the power of the wicked one Satan the Devil , helping people in the world is helping Satans System of things,All of which is going to be destroyed at the" Great Tribulation" And" Armageddon" .......any day soon ......It`s just around the corner ....

GEEEZ , when I saw this thread I thought Scully had passed away,.Glad to know I was wrong.

Thank`s to Scully , SnakesinTheTower , NathanNatas , Elsewhere ,Simon and Ange ,and everybody else that has made this site possible .

Including all the posters who have contributed so much valuable information over the life of this site , past and present contributors .

the gaudy and ostentatiousness of the proceedings following the death of charles taze russell is really interesting to look at.

i can't decide if it is further proof of how much of a cult they were, even back then, or how much they are just like other religions, like the catholics.

Thanks for posting that Wild_Thing , that is history the W.T. probably wants erased .

I remember a W.T.article in the 60`s or 70`s lambasting the Roman Catholic Church on it`s foundation cornerstone , how the Catholic Church was established , showing it`s foundation was seriously flawed .

Do not these pictures also show how flawed the Cornerstone of the International Bible Students Association was at their inception ?

I think the main point of there article was , if the chief cornerstone of a building was a defect then the whole building would eventually collapse ,which they hoped was happening to the R.C.Church.

So where does that leave the I.B.S.A. , now known as Jehovah`s Witnesses .

In much the same place .

my mom and i were talking today about how next summer i will be 18 and she said that just thinking about it might make her cry.

that made me think about how much more it would hurt her if i quit being a jw.

i really do love my parents, i know they are just being cruelly manipulated by a cult and that they really think they are doing what is best for me.

As stated above you have the right to live your life the way you want to live it ,within reason under their roof.

The ball is in the court of your parents if they truly love you they will respect your decision .

If they have only conditional love for you , and want you out of their house , then it`s their decision not yours and it`s better to find that out now while you are still young enough to get on with your life.

I`m not saying it will be easy , it wont ,but if they want there life dictated too by 7 men in Brooklyn ,then you will know where you stand , and it maybe a wake-up call for you.

I feel for you & hope everything works out OK for you , and your parents.,sincerely.

Is the WT’s Paradise Earth doctrine a delusion?

the wt’s teaching that humans will live forever on a paradise earth will necessitate that given that there will be no more death, then immortal humans will have to be relocated to other planets in order to prevent the earth from becoming overpopulated.. so how many habitable, earth-like planets are there?more and more habitable, earth-like planets would have to become available on a continuous, never-ending basis ad infinitum as mankind’s population grows given that there will be no more death.. the longevity/sustainability of life on these planets will be limited by the fact that the sun serving these planets will eventually die:https://shar.es/1cko6n.

Where in the New Testament / the Christian Greek Scriptures , does it say in so many words that " Christians " a designation by Divine Providence , and not "Jehovah`s Witnesses" , would inherit a Paradise Earth ?

Firstly : Welcome to the board , your brain seems to be functioning alright by me , you are reasoning quite well on what has been presented in the previous posts.

Secondly : Whatever you do don`t get baptized ,it will ruin your life.

Thirdly :It`s true their are many genuinely nice / good people who are J.W.`s , but that fact doesn`t mean they have the " truth" anymore than a Baptist person who is a good caring loving person has the "truth" or a Catholic person who is a good loving caring person has the "truth" or even a Muslim who is a good loving caring person , does not mean they have the "TRUTH" about religion.

If you decide not to continue your studies with your "friend" and he decides you are no longer his friend , then he is the loser not you , he was not worthy of your friendship , if that is the case.

"Reproach on Jehovah's name"

the longer i am away from the cult, the more very childish and downright silly it seems in many many ways.. just another example of the childlike way they do not think things through is their obsession with "not bringing reproach on jehovah's name", that concept was used to stop jw's doing all sorts of stuff, a lot of it quite normal.. but the worst aspect of this concept is that they cover up the evil within their org any way they can.. yet they only have to look back on all the cover-ups of the past, by other religions, by politicians etc etc to see that an open acknowledgement and an open dealing with the situation at the time is far better.. cover-ups get exposed in the end, and leave you looking far worse than if dealt with honestly..

Aren`t Jehovah`s Witnesses / the Governing Body , themselves bringing reproach on GOD`s name ?

They have admitted in there own publications that the name "Jehovah" is not the correct pronunciation for the Tetragramatton YHWH , yet they insist on calling themselves Jehovah`s Witnesses , Why ?

Their reasoning :" It is the most commonly accepted name in use today"

I ask you , the most commonly accepted name , by who ? Why Christendom of course who else uses the name Jehovah.

Jehovah`s Witnesses view Christendom as the most reprehensible part of" Babylon The Great the world empire of false religion" so why would they adopt the name of GOD that Christendom bestowed upon him .?.

It would have been more credible for them to have adopted the name YAHWEH and not Jehovah

Yet they continually promote this wrong name of God world wide , bringing reproach upon his name.

THOUGHTS ON UPGRADING TO (Free) WINDOWS 10

i've been using windows 7 for several years and have had no complaints.. i've tried many browsers and settled on google chrome.

it has absolutely everything i want or need.. i kept hearing about the free upgrade to windows 10, so i went to youtube and watched endless "reviews" pro and con.. what pushed me over the (microsoft edge) was the fact i could test drive the new operating system.

for 30 days and go back to windows 7 if i didn't like it!

I`m a complete computer NERD

I switched from windows7 to windows10 simply because I thought 10 was better than 7

Maybe my sub-conscience brain was still thinking JWISM

7 being earthly perfection and 10 being heavenly perfection , so why stop at 7 when you can go straight to 10

And quite frankly for what I do on my computer I can`t tell the difference .

I wish I could understand all those previous posts , about the pros and cons , but it just goes way over my head.

Is their anybody else out there like me?

Or am I the only NERD with a computer on this board.?
