  Brother & Sister-in-Law Return to Kingdom Hall After Two Decades, Quickly Get Stumbled

  it was a mild surprise, learning that a brother and sister-in-law had began re-associating with jehovah's witnesses after at least 25 years of being away.

  the couple, of hispanic ethnicity, are in their early 60's, with their five children all grown and independent.

  the family had been considered nominal jws, infrequently attending meetings, rarely in field service, but using the annual convention as their family vacation.

  yet according to the daily mail, the entire russian olympic team will today be banned from competing at the rio games next month as punishment for their country's state sponsored doping programme.

  it therefore seems to me the olympics has become associated with doping & drugs, and politics becoming an integral part of the games.. do you think that the 2016 olympcs can still unite countries in a positive way?.

  The bitter reality of death

  been a lot of death in my life recently.

  a close family member died yesterday.

  a close friend died 8 weeks ago - both from cancer.

  When you are young , death is something that happens to old people ,or anybody else , you don`t even think it could possibly happen to you

  When you reach the mid 70`s and you still wake up in the morning it is a bonus .

  You now see people a little older than you dying off and some that are even younger than you kicking the bucket .

  You, now more than ever , appreciate the life you had and the life you still enjoy , knowing full well your time on this earth now limited.Make the most of it while you still can.

  I`m sorry what you are going through Bonsai , but that`s the reality of old age that we are experiencing.

  And as you rightfully say their is nothing anybody can say or do to change it .

  The WT pie in the sky dream of a paradise earth promised by GOD is just so cruel .

  Can We Encourage Governments to Take Action Against Sexual Abusers of Children ?

  how many countries in the world today , are presently , or soon to be , setting up some sort of commission or an inquiry into child sexual abuse by an organization of any sort , religious ,sporting institution cultural .,etc.etc.. australia has , england has , and i believe germany is following suit .. are their anymore ?

  that we can add to the list ?.

  of course these inquirys take time , years in fact , but that should not deter us from forging ahead with this agenda.. it is the youth of today who get justice and the youth of tomorrow who can be spared this crime .. and the institutions can modify their policies to bring them up into the 21st century to protect their young.. so if the govt.

  blondie , thank you for that link ,it seems that child sexual abuse is more deeply entrenched in society far more than I could have imagined.

  Vidiot , I acknowledged Australia has as well as the UK and possibly Germany , I`m just asking if any more countries are willing to go down this path because it`s obviously a worldwide problem .

  spoke with a fellow apostate from my own area.

  she and i bailed out about the same time and kept in touch.. she used to do secular work with one of the local elders in his cleaning business until she got dfed.

  this same elder was one of the more profound dickheads on my reinstatement committee, before i turned around two years later and daed.. business required her to contact the elder on behalf of an old client.

  Another Police Shooting

  this time a health aid shot whike helping a patient.

  Looking at the video , the guy that was shot was lying on his back with his hands in the air saying please don`t shoot officer , and identifying who he was , and then HE was shot.

  The autistic guy was just sitting their posing no threat to anybody at all , so why was the police officers firearm even drawn let alone fired at an unarmed black man lying on the ground with his arms in the air.

  Neither of these two people were a threat to anybody , this incident was such an over-reaction that should never have happened.

  Having said that , I can understand the fear /concern police officers have for their own safety in view of recent events .However they must err on the safety of the people who they have sworn to protect , the public.

  it might just be me imagining things.. i hear things from my jw spies.. from all that's being said, it seems to me that the rank and file(tm), are either waking up to the scam and fading/leaving.

  they are going full on 'cult mode' and acting like 'spiritual police'.. is it just me and my imagination?

  Having read all the previous posts here , if they are trying to get rid of the fence sitters and old timers , and those who hedged their bets by getting an education and a good paying job ( thankfully I was one of those )

  then I can agree with bradford`s post above about "the love of the greater number cooling off" before the end comes .

  They could milk that for another decade or two.
