Uh, what? By that "logic" so is the "Three Witness" rule and the "100,000 Witness" rule.

I would like you to show where in the first amendment to the US Constitution that applies. It certainly isn't the freedom of speech plank in that amendment. As to the religions plank, the first amendment only states that congress shall make no law regarding the establishment of any religion.

So, where is the "Two Witness" rule protected by the first amendment?

However, if you are talking about the first amendment to the Watchtower Printing and Lying Corporation's Corporate Charter (as amended per new light), then I humbly apologize.

about 25 years or so ago we dated fro about 2 weeks.

The Art of Writing

i am a writer myself and i know there are many other writers on this forum.

i wanted to open a discussion on writing in the twenty-first century and get other thoughts, opinions and experiences on this.

I don't believe that. What they have done is revolutionized the production time of the art, but not the art itself.

No machine can make art better if the art is crap to begin with. There is some charm to writing by hand or using an old fashioned manual typewriter, but those are only tools. The art of writing requires a lot a work, practice and well, talent. If all of that is in place, the manner of delivery is moot.

Britney Spears may have a zillion dollars worth of background singers and musicians and sequencing and mixing technicians, but she still sounds like shit and couldn't sing her way out of a paper bag. Ask her to sing acapella and her fraud will be readily exposed.

I recently finished reading a book called "The Politically Incorrect Guide to English and American Literature" by Elizabeth Kantor. It was an amazing read. She pointed out examples of the truly GREAT English language literature and that stuff is so above the fray of what is written today, it is almost depressing to see how far we've deteriorated in writing quality since those great works were produced.

Who On This Site Would You Like To Meet?

there are a lot of interesting people that frequent this site.. sometimes, we get an idea of what the posters are really like in "real life".

and i'm sure i could be easily surprised by some that you think might be strong personalities because of their board presence, and in reality, they might be shy in a face to face setting.. i would enjoy meeting simon.

simon used to be terribly annoyed by my posting and now i think he's accepted with tolerance my being here.. farkel seems like a grouchy cantankerous fellow but i think he'd be very interesting company!.

I've met Mr. Flipper, by the way. We live in the same part of Iceland, just outside of Reykjavik. He likes to ski and I like to play beach volleyball and surf. Even had lunch with him and Flipper Lite, his son. He said I was an idiot and a total bore, and I thanked him for his kind words. Most people have a much harsher view of me.

If solid proof were suddenly found that the Book of Enoch should be included in the standard Bible, would that pose a problem for the Jehovah's Witnesses in regards to Michael the Archangel as Jesus?

if the book of enoch (elaborates and gives mention to 6 more archangels) suddenly became part of the bible due to solid evidence, how would this effect the shakey jw doctrine of michael the archangel as being jesus?

there are six other archangels mentioned in this book; could it be possible, if included in the jw bible, that one of the other archangels could be jesus?

would they excuse it somehow and simply stick with their implicit understanding of jesus=michael?.

i recently went to a class offered by my local chamber of commerce that teaches people how to run an election campaign.

i did this because a good friend of mine asked me to assist him in getting elected to a local county office.

i'm highly involved in politics, now, and thought it would be something fun to do.. one point that really struck a chord with me went something like this:.

I made contact with an old friend I had not seen or heard from in about 7 years. He would ask: What's your Jehovah's Witness status? We had a wide spectrum of terms to answer that. It went from "Inactive with plans to get back" to "full-on apostate".

Unfortunately, you did answer those questions, which is defensive when that idiot was on the offense. You can NEVER be defensive with Cults like the WTS.

A more appropriate response in my not-so-humble-opinion would be:

"Go fuck yourself."

we weren't thinking critically.
