Where Do I Go Now?

with all the problems in the 'truth' and all the things that we know are wrong with it there seems to be aspects of their theology (i.e the sequences of the world powers, statue in daniel, the promise of world restoration again found in daniel) that to me still make sense.

although i cannot follow a religion that believes in the destruction of all humanity barring those that respond to their own preaching work i still believe in a creator and cannot accept the teachings of other religions that have no purpose for the earth and believe that mankinds only destiny is in heaven.

my mind keeps telling me that if god was behind a religion it would be so much better than that of the jws.

I understand France is a very nice to go at this time of year. (Stay out of Paris unless you speak fluent French with no accent, though.) Also, The High Sierras in Northern California are a great place to "go." Norway has great mountains and fjords. There are a lot of places in this world to "go." There are also a lot of places to not "go." Religion is one of those places. Send Religion to Hell. You'll be better off and you'll eventually thank me for this advice.

If you like none of my advice so far, then just "go" to the library. It can't hurt.

has anyone on here ever come across the tiniest shred of evidence supporting this date for the fall of jerusalem.

i understand rolf furuli is about to but something out on this subject (see elihubooks.com), however even a table of contents has been a long time in coming from this site.

if no evidence exists what can he possibly be writing about?

I had the opportunity to take advantage of several University scholarships. My Presiding Overseer had to visit my high school counselor in my Senior year and explain to him that the end of this system of things was coming in 1975 and that I needed to devote my very young life to full-time magazine-selling. (This was in 1966.) My school counselor sighed and I could tell he thought we were goofy. We were. My former Presiding Overseer is now a bitter older man (albeit fairly silent about it), but still a loyal dub. His Son is even more bitter. He is 11 years younger than me and he was robbed of the same opportunities at the same young age. Fortunately, the Son I mentioned is no longer a dub, but the damage was still done.

To both of us. Fuck the Watchtower Society and their minions and all the horses they rode in on.

May they get their just deserts, sooner or later. They are liars, charletans, pretenders to God's Grace and authority, manipulators, cowards, and downright scumbags.

And a few other things, too. I didn't mention the bad things they are, either. Like murderers in God's Name.

Sorry, Nico. I've always appreciated your posts and your balanced way of dealing with issues. I still do. I just have my own tack on the WTS and what it has become since circa 1938.

Fact finding for You Knows Apostasy!

lets play a game!.

let make beleive that this post is headed by elders from you know congregation, and they have heard rumors about you know apostasy, but before they can get a committee together the need solid facts that you know is truly an apostate.. the poster can play either the part of elders who are investigating, or that of a loyal jws bringing facts to the elders attention about this matter.. i think this could be fun, or i maybe totally wrong and nobody wants to play this game.. we might even get enough facts together to form a committee and disfellowship him (in our game).

i'll defend your right to say it, but it doesn't mean i beleive it.

He became an "apostate" at precisely the same moment he quit quoting just scripture and started offering his opinions about scripture some three or so years ago.

Elders meeting tonight?????? Need advice???

well - my father (he's an elder) asked me if he could watch my daughter saturday night and i could pick her up sunday at the meeting or he would drop her off at my house.

well, they have offered to watch her overnight plenty of times, but he has never offered to drop her off at my house on a sunday!

the clincher - he said he would normally watch her tonight since it's a friday, but he has an elders meeting.
