My story: "Pop!" goes the Little Circuit Breaker
by TJ - iAmCleared2Land ini guess it's about time i write my story.
i've put this off for a long time... primarily becuase, while i thought my story was bad, i've read so many worse and heart-rending stories here.
i think, though, there is some therapeutic value in 'letting it all out' with others who know what 'it' was like.

WILL JW's MURDER as an organization during an "invisible" Armageddon?
by GoddessRachel inthis was my post on another thread but it needed it's own thread so as not to topic/thread steal.
someone (voideater, i think...) made this comment on another thread, facetiously:armageddon has arrived!
but...invisibly.... this was my reaction to it, and i'm curious what people think.

Thanks gaiagirl, no, I agree with you that there is nothing written or taught by the WTS to this effect. I guess my question is more on a psychological level, do you think the JW's as an organization is capable of something like this? I mean, look at other doomsday cults. Was it really their intention to go bat-sh*t crazy and commit atrocious acts?
I guess it is usually mass suicide in the cases of other cults. But is it so farfetched to think the JW's could be capable of something this crazy?
I have no idea what I think... just speculating...
Thanks,
Rachel

Rachel,
Here it was alway the first "Local Needs" talk on the Service Meeting, that night or later in the month.
JK
Oh yes, I think that makes more sense and I bet it's the same thing when I was goinng. I bet it's just that the local needs talk fell on the night of my announcement, and it was so embarrassing. But I bet they didn't trade schedules just so they could do a local needs part that night. I bet it was the subject matter the very next local needs part, and sometimes the two items, local needs and disfellowshiping announcement, coincided.

Armageddon has arrived! But...invisibly...
This was my reaction to it, and I'm curious what people think. DAMN! This is scary. Do you think that the JW's could actually start doing crazy stuff like killing nonJW's because they believe that Armageddon is here invisibly???? I mean, I think the group mentality can be a very powerful and dangerous thing, as history has shown us time and again. So what do you think? Could the future bring something like this, JW adherants killing people, acting on behalf of God or something? Rachel

OK, also, congratulations hubert. I thought something really cool was going to happen but your status didn't even change! Your Favorite JW Guilt Trips
by Wordly Andre inwhat are your favorite jw guilt trips?
mine are: "you hurt my feelings when you say things like that" and "oh i pray to jehovah, that you will come back, what did we do wrong with you"
-
GoddessRachel
"If you want to be happy you need to go back to the Kingdom Hall."
Andre already said: 'the friends miss you' but my mom always adds "and when they ask about you I have no idea what to tell them so I just avoid people now."

This is all too surreal. What are you doing?..Where are you at..RIGHT NOW?
by BONEZZ inever have one of those really weird moments?
part melancholy...fleeting and just weird.
it's like certain uncontrollable elements come together to create an overwhelming sadness...or maybe it's just the caffeine.. so here i am sitting in a starbucks, in one of the comfy seats...been here since opening at 6am...when all of sudden i'm reading the post by uzzah, listening to the starbucks channel play georgia on my mind by ray charles...followed by i left my heart in san francisco...fighting back tears to no avail....and everything around me is hazy.

I have Starbucks moments all the time but not usually at Starbucks. Life is so rough sometimes.
I think this thought sums it up nicely though; it's how I feel too:
I think many on here have Starbucks moment because we all are having to start out lives over. When we come out of a cult/relationship/loss of employment, things tend to feel overwhelming since it seems to hit all at once.
I'm looking forward to a feeling of routine and normalcy at some point in my future. Sooner rather than later would be nice. Troubled Mind, thank you for your post. I have been there. It's so important to know we are not alone in feeling like this. It is so important that we keep fighting. I hope to have a life like anewme's someday, hers sounds happy, and she deserves it. We all deserve it. Thanks for the thread, BONEZZ, can you tell so many here can relate to exactly what you so beautifully expressed? Peace, Rachel

Were U Surprised When Certain People Left The Organization?
by minimus inwhen certain "pillars" left the fold, were you shocked?
-
GoddessRachel
Yes, I was an elder for many years, Rachel. And I came from a prominent "theocratic" family. They still "pray" for me, everyday, as I understand.
WOW, this is amazing, Minimus! Now I know how you come up with such thought provoking questions all the time. You were obviously a hard-working elder who did his research. Rachel P.S. I hope your family joins you someday.

No they used to do that in England, not sure if they still do. It could usually be worked out what they did from the talk, how sad on that on all levels. Regard David
I agree, how incredibly sad. Rachel
