Decki, you are one of the best posters on here. Just wanted to say that! Hope your house closing went without a hitch in the get-along. I also hope you are able to 1) ignore the button pushers and/or 2) push back.

some fine ladies next door came and hung out tonight, i have to work tomorrow, so i couldn't go with them to the brazilian night "carnival" planed for later this evening.... bit i managed to let them hear the beatles "abby road" album with a few glasses of wine before they left.
they had never heard it, mostly because they're in their 20's, but not one lady left before they wanted to buy their own copy... 'something" was their favorite... they said it was one of the most sexy songs they ever heard... old george wrote my most favorite songs by the beatles... "here comes the sun" is my favorite george song... what's yours?
I'll Follow the Sun lyrics:
One day you'll look to see I've gone.
For tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun.
Some day you'll know I was the one.
But tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun.
And now the time has come
And so my love I must go.
And though I lose a friend,
In the end you'll know, oooh.
One day you'll find that I have gone.
For tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun.
Yes, tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun.
And now the time has come
And so my love I must go.
And though I lose a friend,
In the end you'll know, oooh.
One day you'll find that I have gone.
For tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun.

I can't just pick one favorite!
Come Together wasn't mentioned yet.
Here Comes the Sun was mentioned but how about I'll Follow the Sun. That one seems to have deep personal meaning for me.
There are so many amazing songs by the musicians who made up the Beatles. George Harrison is definitely the best Beatle too, by the way.
well it's been about 2 to 3 months since i did a thread like this , so how have you all been doing in life?
relax , pull up a chair and your favorite cocktail , and tell me your problems - or at least how life is treating you.
we can make this a humorous thread or it can be serious , it's up to you.
Just fart really good , that should cover over the Cherry smell !
Hmmm, I'm beginning to think he's not a real pretend shrink!
i have a story for you.
it relates to being an ex-jw but you don't get that till the end unlessin of course you are a smart cookie and can figure it out before then.
i love playing cards.
Judging from your story and your avatar, DAYUM that girl was stupid!
And, you did the right thing. When someone is that piss drunk, even though they are an adult and it's their own responsibility, they don't know what is good for them. It's usually better, in my opinion, to not have sex with someone for the first time when that person is piss drunk.
oh yes, they can be "righteous over much.
" their ain't nothin' quite like 'em!.
jk.
I know what you mean, Layla. I have known so many like this. I used to be disfellowshipped, but I have never treat people like this (although I didn't talk to people who were "in" when I was "out" so as not to "stumble" them - that's not the same thing is it? I was following the rules).
When my sister-in-law was disfellowshipped (and I was just inactive) she and I were really close. That all changed after she got reinstated. Suddenly she didn't feel comfortable spending time with me anymore. It's just so effed up I can't even believe it.
My DF'd brother goes hot and cold on me, I guess when he decides he might believe it's "The Truth" then he starts to shun me a bit, but then when he wants someone to vent with about JW stuff, guess who he turns to.
It's partly because the DF'ing and shunning policies don't make any sense. Many JW's walk around with cognitive dissonance over the subject. I feel badly for them.

Does this shrinking offer still apply?
GODDESS RACHEL- Oh, I agree with you . By all means I feel it's good to support your boyfriend in his pursuit of his " big break " in regards to his profession. And it is true , I've read in psychology books men cannot multi-task as well as women. When we are concentrating on doing something we tend to focus more on just one thing where women multi-focus. It is a kind of difference in the sexes ! If he is stressful my suggestion would be to break him out of his rigid routine and you guys take a road trip somewhere enjoyable to the two of you ! In will help ease both of your stress ! In time it will work out one way or the other. Just put your best effort forward . Good luck. I'lll still do these threads - they are fun, and I too feel it's good to open up about stresses - t helps us heal ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper
I just want to say thanks for your thread and your good advice.
I also want to add that my boyfriend is self employed, which means he works 7 days a week (by choice, but also out of the feeling of necessity), which means I don't think a road trip will be happening any time soon.
But maybe after a while. In the meantime, I have planned a trip of my own, to visit my family, and I'm very much looking forward to that. Also, thanks to your thread, I have gotten some very lovely PM's with wonderful advice from one of this board's finest posters. So thank you for the timely thread. Just being able to have a sounding board really brightens my personal outlook. I have also been at home sick with the flu, and missing work makes me have too much time on my hands to think about stuff and make up things in my head. So,by posting about it, I have been able to put things back into perspective, so to say.
Best,
Rachel

Dear Mr. Flipper,
Thank you for understanding.
I'd like to add this to my scenario and see if it changes things a bit in your mind:
My boyfriend isn't just neglecting me for "another day on the job," so to say. This just very well might be his big break that he has been working hard for for over a decade. As far as communicating goes, we usually are really good at it, but since he's had this lead he's doesn't want to (or simply can't due to working long hours and trying to stay focused) take time to talk to me at all, or if he does, he takes everything I say the wrong way, which didn't used to happen. So his stress levels are definitely up. I guess I have been hoping that I can ride this out, and understand that if I was on to something really big and had to work long hours, I'd want the same understanding from him. It's just easier said than done, I suppose.
So, I mean, I'm not trying to make excuses to stay with someone I shouldn't be with, but also, it's a fine line I walk in trying to understand if I'm being taken advantage of or if I'm being loyal to my best friend during a tough but hopeful time for him professionally.
Does that make any sense?
Thanks, again, I hope after reading my situation you don't decide against doing one of these threads again, LOL. It really helps to just get it out there.
Rachel
i woke up this morning feeling achy with a slight headache.
i've been feeling worse every minute, my body aches, my head hurts, my eyes burn and i feel like i've been run over by a mack truck and i just want to lay down and go to sleep.
it's official i think i have the flu .
I've had it for weeks! It's very disruptive and I'm just so sick and tired of feeling this badly!
The last I checked, several worse strains than normal of the flu are widespread in all contiguous states except Florida!
Don't take it lightly! Get thee to bed, and I hope you feel better ASAP!
