  i'm looking for recent information about the wt society discouraging jws from going to college.

  i already have the 2005 wt article which went back to the old line discourging post-secondary education.

  are there other statements from our kingdom ministry or more recent watchtowers since then?.

  The ORg realizes or is afraid when a individual in the borg becomes educated their eyes are opend the blinders come off and they see the org for what it is and they leave .... , and they are more able to leave now since they have a LIFE , ADD to that if a kid goes for higher education they are treated like crap by everyone in the hall. the kid is not invited out if he is a boy no handling of the mikes, you can still be in the school.....so what typically happens the kid that goes to college is not invited out , treated poorly, the kid is lonely eventaully leaves the 'truth" and then everone in the hall says " SEE he/she left the truth because they went to college" NO not because they went to college but because they learned the Truth regarding the Truth and they saw and experienced how the congreagation treated them

  France Taxation

  i remember reading some posts some time back about the society trying to avoid paying taxes in france and using the courts.. i wondered how this could be true, since the org would always say to us rank and file to pay back to cesar what belongs to him.. .

  the org has no problem with reporting on this in their 2007 yearbook they give a report on france .

  in a nutshell the french government (caesar) requests them to pay taxes, do they do so.

  I remember reading some posts some time back about the society trying to avoid paying taxes in France and using the courts.
  I wondered how this could be true, since the Org would always say to us rank and file to pay back to Cesar what belongs to him.
  
  The Org has no problem with reporting on this in their 2007 yearbook they give a report on France . In a nutshell the French Government (Caesar) requests them to pay taxes, do they do so. NO they fight it in the courts ( getting Policitical ) lose the case, do they pay the taxes NO but they URGENTLY contact the European court of Human rights and appeal it …the org’s objective is to determine whether the religious freedom of JW’s has been violated and whether there is any discrimination involved…Would Jesus have supported this action?
  
  Unbelievable, what would the org say if a member of the rank and file was to go protesting that paying taxes is not right ? Would that be OK….

  when i was a kid i remember how excited i was..........i still remember some of the slides.

  an old one from the 70's where a blind girl keeps asking her dad when she will be able to see this and that and the father would say " in the new system my dear".

  when I was a kid I remember how excited I was..........I still remember some of the slides

  an old one from the 70's where a blind girl keeps asking her dad when she will be able to see this and that and the father would say " in the new system my dear"

  also I remember a scene of a steep bank perhaps 40' feet high and a deep river below somewhere in Africa and we were told how our brothers were blind folded and thrown in to the river. I still remember that to this day.........."part of the whole persecution themes"

  Isn't the light supposed to be getting brighter?

  ask any jw about the flip-flops in doctrine, and within a few moments, you'll be hearing about proverbs 4:18, the one about the "path getting brighter".

  i.e., "our understanding has increased, so we had to make an adjustment.".

  i was just thinking about the last major changes in jw doctrine over the past dozen years or so...does this sound like light getting "brighter"?.

  I found for the majority ignorance is a blessing and they would not have it any other way

  Light is getting brighter....

  eg: this would be the light getting brighter

  We are going to live on earth, new light we will have brick homes, new light -we will be there before the end of the 20th century

  NEW LIGHT BUILDS ON WHAT WE KNOW not totally changes it....

  The light seems to be getting darker - before we knew the end would be here before the end of the 20th century - NOW we have no idea

  Before we knew the king of the NOrth is Russia and how will it end by Jesus NOW we dont know who the king of the North is. We need it to become more clearer. eg: need to see the lottery numbers the day after the draw and then we will tell you the numbers

  Blind Guides, always learning but never coming to an acuarate knowledge of the truth

  in norway, the ombudsman of children s welfare intervened and a lot of fuss were made when it was made clear that jws endorsed corporal punishment in their publications even though it was banned by law.

  it was even mentioned in the national news.

  the coordinator was even interviewed on tv and the day after it was proven from the wt indexes that he had been lying.... i remember it was very embarrassing.

  I remember recently a " brother" gave a talk on dicplaning children and he never once quote that scripture but mentioned that displane or the rod is showing the child right and wrong ...I dont agree with beating one's child but we see how the society quotes scripture or not ..unbelievable

  let it be this board or any other board, are you comfortable with the fact that whatever you post on the internet will be viewable for a long time.. maybe when you'll be very old, you'll find posts that you made a very long time ago..

  Religion = middleman

  think about this: god gave mankind a guide book on who he is , how we should live our lives and his purposes this book is the bible or in some cultures the koran.

  whether christian, jew or muslim we all accept this to be true .

  also god has provided us a 24x7 way of communicating with him day or night - prayer where we can talk about anything to god and he hears and answers us .

  This is not good enough, religion in effect is saying this to god , we need to help people to “find you god” the book you provided and prayer is not good enough, people have to come to us first, and god we need billions of dollars a year to do this from the people . we will build big building and purchase real estate in your name and we would like to do this full time so we will need to take some of the money for ourselves so we can do this full time and make a career of this

  Counting Time

  i don't know about anyone else but this could be the source of major contention between dubs in my halls.

  you had those who started their time as soon as you pulled out of the hall parking lot (me), those who counted from the first knock at the door or laundry mat visited, and the die hards who didn't start until they actually spoke to someone(my sister).

  my sister and i would go round and round about this, i finally just pretended to start my time when she did just to shut her up.

  I would say that time should start from the time you get to the group and end when you do your last call.....

  If you are at work and have to attend a meeting first thing in the morning for an hour the company still pays you....you are considered "at work"

  If someone says NO time should start when you first talk to someone then technically shoundt we only count the time we are acctually talking to someone and not the walking time...if this was the case people would have only about 5-10 minutes of service a day

  religion sells hope

  karl marx had it right when he said religion is opium (drug) for the people.

  think about it, when a person is on drugs they feel wonderful, they would appear happy if you asked them how they feel they would say on top of the world very happy..but the reality is they may have lost their home, bank accounts, family and have nothing tangible to show for there lives.

  does this sound familiar?.

  GaryBuss don't have a problem with hope or even religion for that matter, what I think is really wrong is enforcement of the hope with social sanctions. In my book, hope quits being hope when it becomes law.

  Also - the Org makes Billions$$$ on giving a hope that they never have to deliver ...sounds like a good gig for them
