both sexes! what is your favorite scent-cologne/aftershave/perfume?
by Ravyn ini have always loved perfumes and oils and i have quite a collection that i use as the mood strikes...but i am getting low on many of them and it is time to think about making that birthday gift list sooooooo... what do you wear and what do you like and why?.
my all-time innocent favorite is muguet des bois(lily of the valley)--reminds me of my youth and a cousin who gave it to me as a gift who is passed now.... but i also love the scent of lilac, usually in an oil.. my favorite perfumes are: obsession, rare rubies(avon), coty wild musk, revlon's fire and ice, white shoulders, sand and sable, ck's truth, (and also mesmerize, odyssey, foxfire, jasmine, raining violets, honeysuckle, lemon velvet, hawaiian white ginger--all old classic avon you can only find at flea markets or once a year in the book.).
but i need something new....i like the oriental/spicy blends, but not for all the time.

In the early 90s I wore New West by Aramis for Her. The Perfume Store in the UK has started stocking it again - I might treat myself! In the mid 90s I started wearing l'Eau d'Issey by Issey Miyake, but although I still love the fragrance, I don't wear it anymore because it is too evocative of the sad times then.
Now I wear J'Adore by Christian Dior, Laura by Laura Biagiotti or Clinique Happy. I like layering my fragrance, using body products.
My husband wears YSL Live Jazz, but I really love it when he wears Clinique Happy for Men....swoon!!

they are complaining about the difficulty of doing business, due to the high taxes there.
so, they suggest a "workaround": they need to find people to privately ship merchandise to them.

meetings
by GirlOnFence inhow many of you, go to the occasional meeting?
i no longer believe any of the things i was raised to believe... but for some reason i still go to the occasional meeting and i even went to the special assembly last weekend (even though i got there after lunch).
i guess it will take a while to completely break away but i was wondering if anyone else is in this situation.

Welcome to the forum GirlOnFence!!
Just watch out for splinters while you are sitting there.
I stopped all contact with the organisation dead, it was easier for me to do it that way. Have not been back in 9 years.

I went shopping in two different supermarkets at the weekend. I wanted to buy some apples. English apples. Or Scottish or Welsh apples would do. Not a difficult task? WRONG.
I could have had apples from France, Italy, New Zealand, USA or Chile. But not any apples grown in my own country. WTF?????
So, I go to the meat counter, where I can actually buy meat from my own country, but if I choose to, I can have Australian beef, or New Zealand lamb.
I have no objection to importing food that we can't grow in Britain, English bananas are a difficult crop to manage, but why is so much food imported which we could easily grow here?
I would like to hear from people outside the UK - are your shelves filled with imported food?
And you Brits - does this bother you at all?

Who's voice would you really like to have?
by Latte in.
if you had the chance to 'come back' as a different person, who's voice would you most like to have?
for me it would have to be either linda ronstadt or barbra streisand, failing that... shakira.
-

Elizabeth Fraser or Annie Lennox.
Or, yeah, Barbra Streisand, but can I keep my own nose please?

? for those who are anti-capital punishment
by StinkyPantz inthis question goes out to people who are against capital punishment under any circumstances.
i'm talkin' like even if you saw the crime on video, you still believe that cp is wrong because all life is sacred; or because god judges everyone not man.. i was just looking over spice's thread "could you kill?".
everyone so far has said that yes they would kill in order to protect family/friends.
-
Fe2O3Girl
StinkyPantz, you ask -
So since killing someone even if they have murdered is wrong, but killing someone to protect a life is okay shouldn't someone kill the executioner so that another is not murdered? Just wondering what you think.
I don't see either scenario as "wrong" or "okay". I think both situations are terrible - either way, someone is dead.
What do you mean by "the executioner" in this question? The government? The court system? The person that presses the button? Citizens who support the death penalty? I don't believe that killing any of these people would have the overall effect of saving lives. [:)]
