This really isn't about government meddling in religion. Treating people as if they are dead is inhumane and goes beyond the scope of "beliefs". It's about the authorities stepping in and preventing, among other things, parents from fucking up their children. If we don't put an end to religious hatred, this world is going to hell in a handbasket.

There is no interpretation nor judgement. They have already defined the parameters, and they are crystal clear:
Dangerous cults promote using shunning to coerce their members to blindly follow what the organization’s leadership orders and to coerce unrepentant former members. Members must shun unrepentant current and/or former members, as if they are dead.
Does this not describe the Watchtower to a tee? There is no gray area here. If the law passed, they would either continue enforcing this policy or they will discontinue this policy. So, they either lighten up, or lose their tax exemption.

I agree, but in this case, the government isn't picking and choosing, they are simply letting the most Pharasaical religions cut their own throats. I don't see any danger in that whatsoever.

I would be a bit more concerned about the swimming pool in Fukushima filled with more than 1500 nuclear fuel rods that is teetering on the edge of collapse and will drop into the Pacific Ocean and wipe out all life on the planet if a small flock of birds flies too close to it.

Thanks for posting this. It's hard to believe. I actually had to do a triple take on the http location in my web address bar to make sure it wasn't bogus because I couldn't believe my eyes. Something like this could be the end of the Watchtower, and it would take an extraordinary performance in artfully contrived horse manure for them to blame this on "persecution from Satan" when the basis of it is their own hatred.
I signed it and I posted it on my facebook page. I have dozens of ex-jw's on my friends list and hopefully they will sign it too.
