Are Jehovah's Witnesses Damned For Their Beliefs?

obviously this is for people who believe in an afterlife.. are jehovah's witnesses damned because of their beliefs?

please elaborate.. .

According to the Parable of the Prodigal Son, nobody is damned. Everyone has some degree of God-spark that cannot be totally extinguished. A close look at the Bible says that the unrighteous are resurrected. For what? To kill them again?

Most people have the Spirit of God in them, to varying degrees, but some people are nearly spiritless. If you are here on this board, if you care at all about spiritual things, you're not one of the bankrupt ones. Since they are spiritless, they only care about their own creature comforts here and now, and their own survival. They don't care about storing up treasures in heaven. They don't care about an afterlife. Basically, they're animals. So, they won't get reincarnated, and they won't care. They'll just have to start the process of evolution all over again, perhaps as a plant, maybe as a Shihtzu, possibly as a slab of granite, depending on how spiritless they are. But we all have a final common destination- a return to Oneness with the Creator.

As dubbies, we were sold a bill of goods that said the world was going down into depths of unprecedented moral decay, including Sodom and Gomorrah.

Well, I recently read a book called "Sex in History", by Reay Tannehil.... how eye-opening it was, that most people have NO CLUE how morally f****d up this world has been, in nearly EVERY culture, for THOUSANDS of years!

Too bad we can't go back and ask people in the middle ages if today's world is worse than theirs. Let's see... Inquisitions, average lifespans around 35 years... Barbarians....

....or lets go back to the days of the early Roman Empire.... with 90 percent of the world illiterate...

or maybe lets go back just a hundred years... the whole world engulfed in war, bubonic plague killing millions....

This is why there have ALWAYS been doomsday cults....

The other sheep

i recently spoke to my mother and wife (separately) to explain what jesus meant when he was talking in john ch 10 about 'the other sheep'.

for my wife, i wrote out in pencil and 'diagrammes' the explanation.

she of course said i was criticizing the society.

I always wondered how kings and priests up in heaven, and lowly biological creatures here on earth could be "one flock".

Just think, in the new system, there's no need for disfellowshipping, because the earth is one big Kingdom Hall. Do you think they'll do stoning, public hangings, or firing squads?

Just because one guy in the field is a borderline zealot we're throwing out the entire studies of quantum physics and string theory? Maybe we should just keep scouring the Bible for answers, because there aren't any coming on THIS thread!

What's REALLY interesting is that all this is exactly what almost every great philosopher and spiritual teacher has been trying to tell us for thousands of years. Even PAUL said we live in the shadow of the reality. Ever read Plato's Allegory of the Cave? (I DOUBT IT!) I'm SOOOOO glad some of you geniuses know it all, maybe YOU can explain to us what a black hole is, or why the hell we're here for that matter!

In 1982, Alain Aspect and a team of physicists were able to actually carry-out the polarization experiment that Einstein had proposed nearly fifty years before (Talbot, 1991, p.52-53). Photon pairs were created by heating calcium atoms with a laser, and then allowed to travel in opposite directions. Aspect discovered that the polarization of one photon immediately polarized the other--just as quantum theory had predicted. BXJW, there's no need to abandon belief in a Creator while still acknowledging evolution. But God's Creation comes from his mind, and nothing becomes "reality" until it first goes through a thought process. Have you ever designed anything and created it? Was it not a picture in your mind before it manifested itself through your work?

In the same way, you have to comprehend involution before evolution. The Bible speaks of both, in an allegory. That's why there are two different creation stories in the first two chapters of Genesis. It was not one "author". See "Documentary Hypothesis".

Reading it literally? Literary giants like Mark Twain certainly had some fun with it.

Would you be referring to the Paradise Cafe? Because that place is exactly as you describe it..... the Bible is the only benchmark to establish "truth". As if the Bible was coherent about anything. Yesterday a bunch of posts got deleted because somebody mentioned the possibility of life on another planet.
