Went to one day assembly at the weekend.....

i was at the one day assembly at the weekend - we are the clay, jehovah is the potter.. this was the first assembly i have been at as a "thinking" person.. one of the talks mentioned how the world can "prime" our minds.

he said - people just follow what they hear, do not question it, believe anything.. and i thought - hmm, i am surrounded by people like that!!.

a young sister i know was up for baptism - when she stood up to say yes to the couple of questions i just wanted to shout "dont do it".

I am just so grateful for the blessings in my life!

I never have to go to one of those incredibly dull intellect hemorrhaging drone programming sessions ever again!

Has anyone here ever had the misfortune of having arterial bleeding? It is this horrible gushing of warmth and life, very alarming to experience.

I imagine that having to spend the day like you did, Scotsman, would be the equivalent intellectually.

I would almost rather dive headfirst into a swimming pool full of double-edged razor blades.

Thank you Scotsman, for going on this dangerous mission in enemy territory.

i sent the following email to trevor following the revelation of trevorgate a few days back.. trevor [or whatever your real name is] - this is not hate mail.

I'm on two sides of this,

I was never that involved with any of his personae, so I'm really not as much a wounded party as those heavily invested in one or another of the Chimera's heads.

However, his ruse has cast a pall on the credibility of almost every poster.

I tend to agree that his remorse is no more substantial than smoke and bears a distinct taint of narcissism.

His harrowing tale of extenuating circumstances strikes me as more of the same narcissistic and tenuous at best. It hardly follows that the experience as stated would lead to what he did, it fails to convince.

But, since he will be gone, I find no compelling reason to harbor animosity, as it would only be deleterious to my own well being and have no effect on him whatsoever.

I feel for the guy, I think he's got pretty serious problems, but I fail to find any reason why I should rent him and his cast of supporting hallucinations any more space in my head.

He is so over.

Bye trev, we hardly knew ye, we might even have liked you, but now we'll never know.

with the shit going down on this board as of late i'd like to post something really good that happened to me lately.

i got my brother jw brother back.

back in 2001 of this same month i posted about letting jw relatives go because i got tired of the pain of hoping those relationships would be restored when it seemed impossible.

You wonderful news that with patience and decency, humanity and compassion CAN win out over arbitrary legalism and petty judgemental-ism.

Are a sex cult started by David Berg, and they used to send their young ladies out in 'service' as 'hookers for Christ' They called it flirty fishing.

The Aposta Truck is real, doing its part for global warming 'cuz a warm planet is a happy planet, and pale vegans in yugos NEED a little dose of fear in their rearview.

Rollerdaughter, she's as real as it gets too.

And the lovely, but shy beckybabe is pretty real as well.

Well yeah, that Roller guy and his cadre of supporting characters seem genuine, but didn't Tragical Trevor and his all-to-convincing female side seem real too?
