When you were a dub, did you shun DF/DA'd people?
by exwitless inactually, in my 14 years as a dub, it only came up with one person in our cong.
who got pregnant out of wedlock (and used drugs during pregnancy).
she was df'd but still came to most meetings.

i did for the most part but with my friends that left i talked to them in private and shunned them around other dubs... i believe that's what they call living a "double life". I'm ashamed i did that. its a horrible feeling and i wish i would have realized that before but i didn't.

Name the 'Finest Hypocrites' you know.
by AK - Jeff ini knew of an elder who ran a janitorial business for decades here [surprize] - his primary employees were his kids, ranging in age from 3 or 4 to teenager at various times.
he would bring in the whole family, they would spread out and empty bags, vacuum, and dust.
in a flash they are out and off to the book study or whatever.. he was able to 'witness wipe' several offices after 5 o'clock and before the 7 o'clock meeting times.

there's so much hypocracy that is makes me sick! my father is the worst i know. he was an elder and would preach meekness and love but as soon as we would get home from the meetings he'd lose his temper and beat us. he actually pushed my brother in a fire once. It use to make me so mad because people would call my father and ask him for advice as to how to raise their kids because we were always such good kids. the reason we were good kids was because we feared for our life. people are two faced. they put up a front to keep a good appearance and then are a completely different person. it's wrong.

the last thing my dad told me was there is only one thing they love more than me and that's jehovah. Whatever, they are hypocritical judgmental bastards... i really hope they don't think saying crap like that is going to make me miss them. it doesn't. there is nothing that could make me go back.

by Mindyemt ini was sexually abused as a child and the witness's accepted it and helped me granted they didn't go into depth about it with me but they do not cover it up they just dont like things publicized not every rape or sexual abuse is put on the news so why should a witness being raped be put on the news they are private people why not let it be

it hurt deeply i had this stary eyed view of things. i thought hey they couldn't just drop me like that. but they did and now i'm a lot more careful who i trust. and i know who my real friends are.

i know but i just want you to understand it does happen. it's not just some elders... most elders. when they go to trial they put gag orders on the victims so they won't tell anyone. Honey, i know you've been through some hellish things. it's not right and it's not fair. how did they react when you went to them about the rapes? did you go to the police about it? Please take some time to heal a little. sometimes our minds won't let us think about the situation until many many years later. my experience happened from the ages 5 to 10 and i am just now remembering some of the things that happened. it's scary. if you ever need to talk don't hesitate to pm me. :) you have a whole support group in your corner.

Mindy... first of all i'm so sorry to hear about your miscarrage. that's a lot to heal from. i'm sure you have heard this over and over again but i am truly sorry for your loss.
but i want you to know that i know people who have been molested and the brothers covered it up. i myself was molested and when my father forced me to talk to the elders about it they asked us not to go to the police because it would give jehovah's people a bad name. This is covering it up. we went to the police anyway but if we hadn't, like so many other victims, the abusers would be safe and free to do whatever they want with no guilt. this is dangerous to the children, that are not protected.
