It's monday & a public holiday so no work today, sitting in my backyard with a coffee and my notebook (love wireless networks) catching up on my web surfing while watching the dog play with her tennis ball. Not going to work tomorrow, arranging with my old boss to go back there instead. Old job was bad enough but not near as bad as my current one. Will grin and bear old job while I attend a few night courses at the local uni, upgrading my skills and move onto a better job from there. At least my former boss treats his staff well, that's the main reason why I'm going back.

YOUR DAILY JOURNAL
by compound complex indear friends,.
much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.
however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

Reason for no windows in Kingdom Halls
by purplesofa ini found this newspaper article online today........jr brown makes a comment why there are no windows in kh's.

The kh's I went to had windows, big windows, that were always wide open in the middle of winter to cancel out any effect the heaters might have so you could freeze your @$$ off. That's one of my most vivid memories of the place, sitting huddled up with a blanket wishing I was home in my nice warm house I think the no windows policy is a US thing, maybe they're waiting for Bill Gates to help them out!

All craptowers are full of bs, this one will have extra bs, for their faithful followers to digest...
It really reminds me of the scientologists, making people make some serious commitment first before they find out what their
cultreligion really is about. -

July KM - warning against active apostates - summary
by dozy inthe question box in july deals with the internet - mainly concerned with children on myspace & similar sites -mentioning that your child could be talking to paedophiles , dfd ones or even "active apostates" .
the main article deals with the - "exciting" and "thrilling" news of the new wt arrangement (maybe some people should get out more).
nothing new in the article , which has as the sole justification the need no longer to explain "theocratic" terms like "pioneer" , but it does seem that the awake will be tailored more to non-christian people.

the Daily-Dedicate-a-Song-to-a-Special-Someone Thread
by Crumpet inrather than hijack another thread and inspired by fullofdoubtnow and dedpoets music for the wedding thread i thought i would start a little "dedications" thread - this isn't the sort of dedication symbolised by dunking though!.
(i expect to see ggbg and ofg here forthwith for some romantic dedications).. i'd like to dedicate the following to someone special - "bodies - by drowning pool" .
they probably wont see this, but the thought that counts!.

Dedicated to everyone reading this with a drink in their hand
The Remedy by Jason Mraz
Well I saw fireworks from the freeway
And behind closed eyes I cannot make them go away
'Cause you were born on the fourth of july, freedom ring
Now something on the surface it stings
I said something on the surface
Well it kind of makes me nervous
Who says that you deserve this
And what kind of god would serve this?
We will cure this dirty old disease
If you've gots the poison I've gots the remedyThe remedy is the experience.
This is a dangerous liaison
I say the comedy is that it's serious.
This is a strange enough new play on words
I say the tragedy is how you're gonna spend
The rest of your nights with the light on
So shine the light on all of your friends
When it all amounts to nothing in the end.I won't worry my life away.
I won't worry my life away.
Well I heard two men talking on the radio
In a cross fire kind of reality show
Uncovering the ways to plan the next big attack
They were counting down the ways to stab
The brother in the be right back after this
The unavoidable kiss, where the minty fresh
Death breath is sure to outlast this catastrophy
Dance with me, because if you've gots the poison,
I've gots the remedyThe remedy is the experience.
When I fall in love I take my time
There's no need to hurry when I'm making up my mind
You can turn off the sun but I'm still gonna shine and I'll tell you whyBecause
The remedy is the experience.

Welcome to the forum DeeR,
I'm very sorry to hear of the abuse you suffered as a child. I can only hope you have since found peace and he hasn't. He's the one to blame, not you.
