Senior fire hazard in my building

i live in an apartment building for seniors.

it is a requirement that residents must be able to care for themselves.. across the hall and two doors down there is an elderly woman who lives alone.

she is an alcoholic.. in the 5 years since i have been living here there have been numerous incidents where she gets drunk, puts something on the stove and passes out.

Is there any way (or any law preventing them from) installing a button on her stove which requires her to push it in to keep it operational beyond say... 10 minutes? Just a thought then if she passes out the stove will turn off automatically...

in a local convenience store, the owners have installed an id checker for anyone purchasing alcohol.

they require you to put your id in this machine to determine whether or not you are of legal age.

even if you are 85 years of age, you have to comply or you can't buy a beer!.

Depressing day #1: going through the checkout line on my 21st birthday with a case of beer and my ID in hand. Cashier didn't look at it.

When I used to serve at the cigarette counter I had so many just-turned-18 year olds literally jump up and down with excitement when I asked them for ID. They couldn't wait to show me.

That's ridiculous. Here, it's generally the policy for staff to ask anyone who appears under the age of 25 for ID (legal drinking age is 18). The logic being that many 15 year olds look 20 etc... it covers the stores ass legally speaking in other words. The 'everyone shows ID' policy sounds far too impersonal. My sympathies to the staff too, who are forced to implement this... they must really hate it.

considering your armpits absorb anti-persperant and most anti-persperants contain aluminum, is it worth killing your memory?

From what I understand, aluminium accumulates as a result of alzheimers... it's not the cause. Folic acid has been found to possibly help slow down (and prevent) the disease. http://www.nih.gov/news/pr/mar2002/nia-01.htm

This song came out the year after I left and I kinda felt like it was about leaving the JW's in a way. Their album was called 'Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too'. It wasn't until a couple of years ago I found out the lead singer (Gregg Alexander) is a former born-in.
