I always left the assemblies and conventions severely depressed and a little constipated.
It's all that 'spiritual food' with a high meat content and very little fibre. It will do that to you.

Ninja, you never fail to crack me up! Honestly I'm lucky my keyboard still works with all the coffee, juice, water, cougar I've managed to spray it with. I should learn to not be sipping any liquid when I read your posts!

i have always been slightly uncomfortable using the phone, but over the last month i seemed to overcome it in a more general way.

i know some elders want to be real shepherds in the biblical sense and are constantly challenged by wt directions that are cold unloving & self serving and many leave because of this.
such an elder who has his own conscience and is troubled by it does not make the best wt elder.
im looking to name the characteristics that make the best wt elders.
Thick-skinned - They are able to handle criticism from fellow JWs, even insults that come their way as a result of their position. Such criticism is like water off a duck's back to them. They may even relish criticism, viewing it as being persecuted like Jesus was.
Very true, it just gives them an excuse to claim they are 'christ-like' and how they must be right because of the opposition

Who can forget those assembley headaches? Especially the district convention headaches. In fact, headaches & falling asleep is about all I remember oh & the food and the crowds in the toilets getting shoved around left right & centre. Those uncomfortable chairs and the biggest mistake I made in my life, getting baptized . Really miss those days! (not)

hi ya folks... in replying to a post from a new poster (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/12/135008/1.ashx), i was trying to find a link to the elders handbook online to help him see how stupid jw rules are before he thinks of getting baptized.
in searching online, i ran across this on ebay for the elders handbook "pay attention to yourselves and all the flock".
before i left as an elder, i had the opportunity to purloin a copy before i left, but did not do it...rats.....i would have turned my copy in when i was removed but kept another copy of a former elder that was in the files....wish i had done it.
