You deserve as much attention as you can get my royal friend. I hate it that you are having a down time, but unfortunately it seems to be a part of this journey of life we are all on. Sh*t happens. Even though...... I wish you the best today, that the sun will shine again in your heart.

Have I become like those I despise?
by Hortensia inwell, yes, as a matter of fact.
i have become a desperate, needy, clingy burden on my friends, so depressed i don't know what to do.
every day i say, pull up your socks, put one foot in front of the other.

How is your circle of friends?
by AK - Jeff ini have been blessed to come to know several posters here personally, and to be able to count them as friends.
i have phone conversations with several here from time to time also.
most of these are 'long distance relationships' due to the nature of the xjw beast, geographically, at least for me.

I am hoping to make real friends here, just like any relationship it takes effort and I haven't had the time to work on it. I envy those of you who have friendships with one another.
I will say that after being here for almost a year, I have come to know some of you well enough to know that this site has a wealth of wonderful and interesting personalities. It is the possibility of friendships that keeps me coming back.

YOUR DAILY JOURNAL
by compound complex indear friends,.
much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.
however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

Good day journal!
I've been gone for awhile, fighting through my life. So many highs and lows. It is the highs that are propelling me, moving past living day to day...working on tomorrow. Too much information for one day's journal. I'm going to try to post more on JWD in hopes of finding some true friends, and much needed support. Hoping to be balanced.....hard place to find with a computer addiction.....I can do it, I can do it....I know I can. Be balanced with JWD.
Otherwise, beautiful spring day. Have had time to contemplate the things I am thankful for.

Jehovah's Witnesses are NOT stupid!
by nicolaou inafter several years 'out' i can't be the only one who still gets a bit pissed off to hear 'oh so clever' apostates slagging off jw's for being dumb, stupid and worse.
grow up!
the beliefs of jehovah's witnesses are certainly stupid but then i'd say the same for all christian belief just as many of you might condemn my atheistic, evolutionary postion as being nonsense.

To quote Forest Gumps mother...."stupid is as stupid does". Smart people are very capable of doing stupid things.

Movie Comparisons
by lancelink inseveral days ago i was watching the movie the shawshank redemption and i really got to thinking how much this movie ties in with people who are jws, and deciding what to do with their life.
i was discussing this point with my wife tonight, and it was quite shocking how many people we knew/know who fit into one of these categories.
andy: people who have been in the organization for years and finally look at things realistically and decide to get out.

M. Night Shyamalan's "The Village".
A few created a deception for the "good of the people", protect it with fear, lace it with kindness, raise the children with no choice but to believe the deception as reality. A deception created for any reason, is still a deception. A lie disguised as truth.

Have you gained more than lost?
by compound complex ingreetings, my friends:.
the above question is not in regard to one's weight.
that would be a rude question .... in terms of your jw experience, have the losses you've suffered been offset by the good you've gained?.

Today I learned not to be afraid to be called Atheist
by Gopher ini was inspired to go by a fellow poster on the board who encouraged me to examine atheism a little more closely.
i am glad i went.. (now if anyone wants to come here and encourage me to be religious, sorry i won't respond to that on this thread.
feel free to start your own thread about the wonders of belief.).

Gopher, just wondering, how long were you in agnostic purgatory?
BTW, I'm glad for you, I long for more definition in my life. I just need to be patient.

Yes, momz, there is good to share. I was just trying to get my focus straight.
Beautiful day. I actually put shorts on. Thinking about painting my toe nails to get ready for sandals.
I am back on JWD after a short absence. I have had major highs and lows since I've been gone. The highs are all that are worth thinking about. Getting ready to start working on my road trip agian. Finally, after a signifigant darkness, I can actually see light.
I am surrounded by the love of my family, I have already had a dozen hugs from my granddaughters just this morning.
Life indeed is good today.

It's For Your Own Good ...
by compound complex inintervention and then, if necessary, decisive action ... on behalf of an individual whose state of mind and behavior do not align with what is deemed acceptable by society (or "the" society).
looking back from your current vantage point, are you now less likely to give advice or - worst case scenario - get involved in saving someone from him- or herself?
when would you intervene?

In general, however, my query involves any person in a position of authority who attempts to control a subordinate by enforcing "what is for his/her own good."
I think I understand what you mean CoCo. I am not a controling person, however, I have been controled by the best. My older sister, husband, etc...so speaking from that vantage point, I can honestly say it is not helpful. Not helpful at all.
